I don't see what you said. It says he created darkness and light, not that he is darkness and light.
There is none besides Yahweh. He creates all things from and within himself. Isaiah 45 Hebrew Interlinear

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Satan has blinded your foolish mind to believe that you are sinless when in fact you're still a filthy sinner. Repent now or you will burn in the lake of fire
o_O I don't believe when Christ is present among us that one of his own speaks like that.
What gives you the righteous fervor to judge a brother here so harshly?

He started it by calling Christians deluded who believe a certain way. To the humble GOD is humble; to the perverse he is perverse. In this type of situation I disagree with your counsel. He needs to be rebuked strongly.
I exposed the self righteous, Pharasies like you who trust in your own righteousness for the remission of your sins. You are in for a rude shock, when you stand before God to be judges.

Only a blinded fool believes they are sinless, the Gospel screams at you telling you that you still sin after you are saved.

You really need to go and read your Bible and stop trusting in your good works, I can't believe I have to educate you on the basics of the Gospel. How anyone can be so ignorant is beyond belief.

You are under the influence of a spirit that makes you misspell words and use bad syntax.
You are on the path that is taking you to the lake of fire, repent now for you know not when you will die. Today might be the day you stand in condemnation

Christ didn't come to affirm sinners as you would have me do, He came to warn them that hell awaits them unless they turn from their sins, repent and believe in Him for the forgiveness of their sin.

Some fools here believe that you repent once and then magically never sin again, they are under a Satanic lie. The Bible tells us to repent every day, because we continue to sin every day and only a deluded fool will deny that fact

True , not one person on this earth has kept the law except Jesus . That is the very reason we need Jesus' saving grace.
When the law flows through us it kills us.
I'm amazed at how many people here are self righteous, they have fooled themselves into believing they can keep the law now that they have been "Saved".

Jesus will say to them on that day, "Depart from Me, you workers of iniquity into the everlasting lake of fire".

They think they are saved but sadly they have been blinded by their sin, and they are in for a rude shock when they die

The basic law, what every law has in common is love. We are to learn all about the law but not take on the job that is reserved (we are told) for God alone of judging the people and each of their understandings of the law.

Scripture can be used to argue both views, I have decided that predestination, election and the whole work of salvation is of God from start to finish and we contribute nothing in the work of salvation, it's all of God.

The debate has been raging for centuries by highly educated bible theologians, haven't reached a consensus on the question so I doubt that we will here.

I do believe we will be held accountable for our beliefs, if we haven't used our god given ability to embrace the truth it will cost us something. So I do believe it's very important to get it right, so we can live our lives in the truth of the Gospel.
Well i have been convicted that we must have Faith in the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ..

Faith is not a Work .. The Bible clearly makes a differentiation between Faith and Works..

Galatians 2: KJV

16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

But calvinists have declared faith to be a works in their attempt to push everything we do into the works catagory.. In this interpretation they have made their error.. Because in the end it is the Individuel who believes and accepts the conviction of the Holy Spirit and is saved or they dis-believe and reject the moving of the Holy Spirit..

You have left me confused, Calvin taught the opposite of a works based salvation. He taught that it's all by Gods grace and the sinner plays no part whatsoever in his salvation. Even the act of repenting and asking for forgiveness through Christ is a gift of God, a sinner would never come to repentance unless God moved him to and drew him to Himself.

So I don't know how you managed to confuse Calvin with Arminius, who taught that salvation was in the hands of the sinner. He could chose to believe or reject the Gospel, so it's the exact opposite of Calvinism.

Well i also stand against works based salvation.. I believe salvation is by grace..
But while works salvation is one extreme, the opposite extreme is calvinism which says that we do absolutely nothing that we are zombie like automation that have no free will to believe or to resist the Will of God. That God forces those who end up believing to believe and bars those he wills not to believe to not believe.. In calvinism God created some people for no other purpose but to burn in the eternal lake of fire with absolutely no chance of ever being saved..

In calvinism all who God calls come to Him so all who are called are chosen.. But again the Bible says that not all that are called are chosen..

Matthew 22: KJV
14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."

Why because some who are called resist the call.. So while it is true that everyone who shall be saved is also called it is wrong to state that the grace of the Lord is irresistible which is the doctrine of Irritable grace the I part in the 5 pillar T.U.L.I.P doctrines of calvinism..

So I don't know how you managed to confuse Calvin with Arminius, who taught that salvation was in the hands of the sinner. He could chose to believe or reject the Gospel, so it's the exact opposite of Calvinism.
When it comes to this point Arminius is correct and calvin is wrong.. Because belief / faith is not a Works .. But calvinists simply cannot understand that..

A filthy sinner, huh? Maybe you should reread Romans 6? I don't like your tone, or the audacity you have to speak to your fellow brethren as if their soul is not found in Christ. Even if you disagree, may you pray that both you and them come to the knowledge of the truth.

Christ didn't come to affirm sinners as you would have me do,
You have no idea what any is doing. So for you to be condemning is being self righteous in it's own right unless they post their sins here for all to see.
He came to warn them that hell awaits them unless they turn from their sins, repent and believe in Him for the forgiveness of their sin.
Jesus was manifested to take away our sin and in Him is no sin.

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes we were healed. Reckon therefore yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? He that commits sin is a servant to sin. But the Son has made us free and free we are indeed! That the righteousness of the Law be fulfilled in us; that walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh.

For we are dead, nevertheless we live. Yet not us but Christ liveth in us. And the life we now live in the flesh we live by the Faith of the Son of GOD who gave himself for us.
So Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ (the word; the Law; the Commandments) down from above) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ (the word; the Law; the Commandments) again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (Christ; the Law; the Commandments) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart (and in thy mind) : that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

For Christ (the word; the Law; the Commandments in our hearts, mouths and minds) is the end of the law (written with ink and Tables of Stone) for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Forasmuch as we are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

(1Pe 2:24; 2Co 5:15; Rom 6:11-16. 10:6-8 10:4, 9:31-32; 2Co 3:3-5; John 5:14)

because we continue to sin every day and only a deluded fool will deny that fact
But ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth (practices; willfully) sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Well i also stand against works based salvation.. I believe salvation is by grace..
..
But what is grace?
A favor bestowed or favor on. One or the other or both.

. First let’s take a look at the Secular use of the word.
It's use as a noun would be defined as: Simple elegance or refinement of movement.

Verbally it is understood along the same lines but in action. If one would look it up they would find something along these lines: To do honor or credit to (someone or something) by one's presence.

Now Webster saw fit to define it as follows:
1
a
: unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification
b : a virtue coming from God
c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance

Did a word study of the Greek and Hebrew a while ago. This is what was found.

Grace in the Hebrew is חן and it is pronounced khane. Subjectively it means to find favor in the eyes of someone. To be acceptable to them; to find or receive grace, kindness, favor, goodwill.
Objectively it means form or appearance; beauty, gracefulness.

Khane is from חנן and is pronounced khaw-nan’ Properly it means to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior. To be inclined towards , yearn towards, long for, be merciful, compassionate, favorable. Causatively it means to implore; move to favor by petition. It is recommended in the Strong's concordance to Compare the kindred word חנה pronounced hana. Properly this word means, to incline towards, reach; by implication to decline. Specifically to pitch a tent. Generally to encamp. To set oneself down. To inhabit.

Now lets look at the Greek word for God's grace χάρις , pronounce charis. In the objective sense it means, outward grace or favor, beauty. Properly of persons or their portraits. In the subjective sense it is , grace or favor felt, whether on the part of the doer or the receiver. Graciousness (as gratifying ), of manner or act. Strong felt moved to pen in his lexicon that charis is, "the especially the Divine influence on the heart, and it’s reflection in the life; including gratitude."

Charis is from χαίρω and it is pronounced chairo. It means rejoice be glad, be cheerful; calmly happy or well off.

So what is God's grace?

It is His kindness, His favor, His Goodwill, His inclining toward us.
His yearning, His longing compassionate imploring for us to encamp. To abode, to set ourselves down with Him and He with us. It is His Beauty, His appearance, His image and likeness, His joy in us for Sanctification, which is only found in Him through the Gospel. The Kingdom of God; Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.

Herein is my Father glorified, that we bear much fruit through this Sanctification. So Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ,(gracing us with HIS presence; the Word, all that GOD would have us be. The Law; HIS Commandments down from above) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. The Law; HIS Commandments again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (Christ; the Word, the commandments manifested in the flesh, Our flesh) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, in thy heart, and in they hand: that we may do it; that is, the word of faith, which we preach.
And that is the Gospel, the Kingdom of GOD within you. For GOD hath said, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them." And HE shall be our GOD and we shall be HIS people. For it is GOD that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure, Christ (the Word, His Commandments, GOD's will ) in you the hope of Glory

Romans 10:6-8 and Deut. 30:11-14 are speaking the same premise as of that which is found Hebrews 8:10,11 and Jeremiah 31:33. It is just worded different. The Gospel, the New Covenant, GOD's Grace.

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) (See “The Morning Album Version”)

By Chris Tomlin

Amazing grace

How sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now I'm found

Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear

And grace my fears relieved

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed.

My chains are gone

I've been set free

My God, my Savior has ransomed me

And like a flood His mercy rains

Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me

His word my hope secures

He will my shield and portion be

As long as life endures

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow

The sun forbear to shine

But God, Who called me here below

Will be forever mine

Will be forever mine

You are forever mine

Well i have to credit you Lightbearer for the effort you put into this post..

Grace to me = Gift.. A True Gift is something that is given with no requirement for payment of any sort.. Once people try to pay for a gift it ceases to be a gift but becomes a good or service that has been paid for.. Salvation must be received as a true Gift from God.. Otherwise it will not be had by us..

Salvation is a gift from God offered to all human beings, But in the end people must believe God and trust that the gift will secure for them salvation..

It is true that Grace is unmerited in terms of works merit.. No one can earn enough Merit through their works because all the good works in the world cannot pay for one sin..

Not that our sufficiency is in and of ourselves. But our sufficiency is of GOD.

You are not lazy either in your journey Adstar. Praise GOD!

I seen you around through the years. I believe we spoke in other forums. Maybe Bible-Discussions?

Amen!

Pay?

What have we to offer? Our righteousness is as filthily rags.

Repentance?

The goodness (the utilization) of GOD leadeth thee to repentance?

Works?

It is GOD that worketh in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure. For we are dead nevertheless we live yet not us but Christ liveth in us and the life we now live in the flesh we live by the faith of the son of GOD. Christ in us the hope of Glory. He doeth the work and with out Him we can do nothing.

In Him and only through Him is salvation; eternal life. And what is life eternal. To know God and Jesus Christ whom HE sent.

What is it to know HIM?

Jesus in us, and GOD in Him, that we may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that GOD hast sent Jesus, and hast loved us, as HE hast loved Jesus. For we are the Body of Christ; the Temple of GOD and it is HE that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure through Christ. And they two shall be one flesh; this is a great mystery but I speak concerning Christ and the Church

glf1, post: 3634321, member: 271248"]In Rom 7:12 "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good." Or in Rom 7:14 "For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin." Rom 8:2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death."
What is the "Law of Sin"? Is it "Thou shall Love the Lord your God with all your heart"? Or is it "the soul that sins (breaks God's Law) shall die"?

I believe the scriptures say we are freed from the "law of sin and death" because we broke God's Law, not free from God's Laws.

So even though the law is holy, it comes with the curse of death and is ready to pass away(Heb 8:13): since the letter kills, but the Spirit giveth life(2 Cor 3:6)." This is, in fact, the main promise of the NT; where the Lord, says, in Heb 10:16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them." Which makes the law of the Spirit of life more powerful that the OT law could ever be.
How will a man be "Free from God's Laws" if He has written them in our hearts. Would we instead be "free from the Law of sin and death" because we have His Laws in our hearts now and will strive to keep them, and not break them as we did before??

The letter of the law is: "Thou shall not kill." But that same commandment under the law of the Spirit of life is now; (1 Jn 3:15) Whoso hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no man that is a murderer hath eternal life abiding in him."
Lev. 19: 17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

The commandment to Love your Brother and not hate him in our hearts "IS" the Letter of the Law.

Jesus, as the Word which became Flesh, created this Commandment from the beginning along with.

Lev. 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Lev. 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

The Jews, or "Those of old time" omitted these scriptures, but as Jesus pointed out, they have always been there. How is it you make the claim that they are new?

The letter of the law is: Thou shall not commit adultery. But the law of the Spirit of life for this commandment is; (Matt 5:28) "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
Again, you claim something as new and different that has always been there.

Lev. 18:16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.

Ex. 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

The Pharisees, or as Jesus calls them in Matt. 5, "them of old time" taught part of God's Commandments, but also omitted parts of God's Commandments. God sent Prophets to them, and the Jews killed the Prophets. He sent his own Son to straighten their teaching out as Jesus was doing in Matt. 5, and they killed Him as well.

I think you are confused about what God's Commandments were in the first place. "The Letter" of the Law condemned looking on your neighbors wife in lust, just as it condemned adultery. It's just that the Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time didn't teach it.

Matt. 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

It was "Those of old Time" who corrupted God's Commandments as the Law and Prophets clearly teach. Jesus wasn't changing God's Laws, He was establishing what the Preachers of old time had omitted.

These same commandments that were death to us because of the curse are being used by the Spirit to give us life by illumination the scriptures that we put into our minds and writing then upon the table of our hearts, transforming us into Jesus' image and making us to see sin as the Lord does, more and more.
The commandments were death to us because we didn't honor God by following them. Jesus forgives the repentant and gives them another chance to serve Him as did Abraham. This time we honor God by denying our self and following Him. When we do this, He helps us and opens our eyes to see His Truth.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

So that the things that we once enjoyed become points of conviction as we grow toward spiritual maturity by reason of use of the word of righteousness, having our senses trained to discern both good and evil(Heb 5:13,14).
When God's Spirit manifests itself we are then able to see past the Parables into the truth of His Word.

2 Tim. 3:
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The High Calling those who Love Him have committed to.

If we have been tricked into believing falsehoods about God's Word, how can we do "the Will of God"?

Now here's someone on the right track. We now obey God's laws spiritually. In the old testament He wrote His law on physical tablets, but in the new testament He writes His laws on our hearts (spiritual).
How is the intent of the Commandment.

"Lev. 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

Somehow changed because these Words are now written in the mind of the repentant instead of written on a stone or paper?
