Have you been counting? That's interesting because if there is a place to add to the canon of scripture, I don't know where they would add anything new and don't know who would be doing the adding. They might have a difficult task seeing how that so many other manuscripts have been rejected, what would give this new revelation any authority greater than those already tried and rejected. I believe that it took all those years before the canon was final because the word of God had to be tied by time and by the plan of God.

Believers can be inspired by the word and the Holy Spirit, inspired by faith through the love and grace of God and inspired in their speech being seasoned with salt and ministering grace to the hearer, but to add to the verbal plenary inspiration of the scriptures is not going to happen. It's been tried before and has always failed because God has a way of preserving that which belongs to Him and it is an open, sealed and shut case. No other prophecies can be added to what has been sealed by God through the inspiration of the written word. The scriptures open and start with, 'In the beginning' and close with 'The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, AMEN'. That gives us confidence and hope in the person of Christ and what has been spoken and written for our learning.

Wrong, a believer can only be inspired by the Holy Spirit. Period. The word cannot inspire anyone to righteousness. Righteousness is impossible without the Holy Spirit. Salvation is impossible without the Holy Spirit. Love is impossible without the Holy Spirit. Pleasing God is impossible without the Holy Spirit.

Thats funny. Many OT people understood scripture w/o the HS, Believed God w/o the h/s were inspired to live right without the HS Loved without the HS. The HS did not come into permanent play until after Christ died. and rose again then ascended.

PS. I am still waiting. Bakc up your claims we can learn more about God than is in scripture. Name something. WHy are you running? How can you expect someone to respect you if you refuse to back up your claims??

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Jesus, our High Priest can sympathize with our weakness, so we are encouraged to go to Him. We discuss the idea of "draw near" and its many, important implications. We can only draw near through the terms of the New Covenant.MP3 (duration 00:34:41)
