@slave

I am not a big fan of dual fulfilment.

The problem with applying the 1st Century prophecies to now is that Jesus prophesied something different.

Days Of Noah and days Of Sodom. So basically everyone just living to please themselves.
There's only two generations since CHRIST physically came into the world...
Those prior to HIS first physical coming and ministry
and those up until and before the moment of HIS second coming...

"When Jesus had left the precincts of the Temple, he was going away; and his disciples came to him to point out to him the buildings of the Temple area. He said to them: Do you not see all these things? This is the truth I tell you—one stone will not be left here upon another that will not be thrown down." (Matthew 24:1,2)

In this text Jesus is announcing a prophetic marker which if it comes true will guarantee that all His other prophecies will likewise come true. Let the skeptics and unbelievers mock but they can't deny that this prophecy was fulfilled some forty years later exactly as Jesus prophesied.

IT may well be that at least some of the disciples had not been very often to Jerusalem. They were Galileans, men of the country, fishermen who knew the lake far better than they knew the city. Some of them would be like people from the country coming to New York for a visit, staggered by what they saw; and well they might be, for there was nothing in the ancient world quite like the Temple.

The summit of Mount Zion had been dug away to leave a plateau of 1,000 feet square. At the far end of it was the Temple itself . It was built of white marble plated with gold, and it shone in the sun so that people could scarcely bear to look at it. Between the lower city and the Temple mount lay the valley of the Tyropoeon, and across this valley stretched a colossal bridge. Its arches had a span of 41.5 feet, and its spring stones were 24 feet long by 6 inches thick.

"The Temple area was surrounded by great porches, Solomon’s Porch and the Royal Porch. These porches were upheld by pillars, cut out of solid blocks of marble in one piece. They were 37.5 feet high, and of such a thickness that three men linked together could scarcely put their arms round them. At the corners of the Temple, angle stones have been found which measure from 20 to 40 feet in length, and which weigh more than 100 tons. How they were ever cut and placed in position is one of the mysteries of ancient engineering. Little wonder that the Galilean fishermen marveled and called Jesus’ attention to them."

Jesus answered that the day would come when not one of these stones would be left standing upon the otherand Jesus was right. In AD 70, the Romans, finally exasperated by the stubborn rebelliousness of the Jews, gave up all attempt at pacification and turned to destruction, and Jerusalem and the Temple were laid waste so that Jesus’ prophecy absolutely came true.

"This prophecy was most literally fulfilled. Recent explorations have shown that not a stone of Herod's temple remains in situ (in its original position). The orders of Titus, given with regret, for the total demolition of the walls of temple and city, were carried out with cruel exactness, so that, as Josephus testifies passersby would not have supposed that the place had ever been inhabited. When the apostate Julian, in the fourth Christian century, endeavored to cast a slur upon prophecy by rebuilding the city and temple, his design proved to be a humiliating failure, and the sacred shrine has continued to this day a monument of Divine vengeance."

"The devastation of the temple by the Romans in AD 70 was so thorough that the precise location of the sanctuary is still unknown today."

"We may also observe how little God values splendid houses of prayer when they are made dens of thieves."

In the "Olivet Discourse" Jesus speaks as the prophet He is. Jesus knew that the way of power politics (Jerusalem vs. Rome) can end only in doom. The individual and the nation which will not follow the way of God are heading for disaster—even in material things (wars, famines, earthquakes, floods, storms, etc). The individual and the nation which refuse the plans of God will find their own plans shattered also.

This is why CHRIST said...a wicked generation asks for a sign but none shall be given it except the sign of Jonah.
And HE goes on to say that the men of Ninevah (that generation prior to CHRIST's coming) will stand in the judgment and condemn this generation (those who benefitted by CHRIST's coming but did not believe)
For they (the men of Ninevah) listened to the words of Jonah...
and now ONE GREATER than Jonah has come.

That ONE GREATER HE was referring to was HIMSELF...

Will another temple be rebuilt?
Are the Jews waiting for another temple?
Are they planning to build another temple?

How can the one mentioned in both daniel and 2thesselonians 2 build Jerusalem during troublous times, take away the daily sacrifice and sit in the temple declaring himself to be god if there isn't another temple standing?

Where is a temple mentioned in Daniel?

What did you think was going to be built when he makes a covenant with the people and then breaks it midpoint, taking away the daily sacrifice and sitting himself in the temple?

Did you think his "covenant" would be any different than the "covenant" Ezra and Nehemiah made with those "kings" who agreed to the building of the temple then?

Parallel and pictures pointing forward to what GOD wants us to see...

Can those in Jerusalem bring sacrifices without there being a temple?

Miknik. This is quite heretical this 7 year peace treaty stuff. I know it has a serious pumper on here, but you need to get out of that stuff.

Gabriel told Daniel that the vision and prophecy of the 70 weeks were sealed for the duration of the prophecy.

That means the prophecy could only be understood after it had taken place.

Therefore anyone preaching and teaching a future unfulfilled 70th week is in serious breach of the terms of the prophecy itself.

There can be no future 70th week as the bedrock of prophecy. This is vile, delusional and dangerous.

What is more, the 70th week is fulfilled, and there is no need whatsoever to even leave it as an open question.

The covenant in Daniel 9:27 is an EXISTING covenant and Christ came to confirm that covenant.

Too bad it is clear as day in Daniel 12 what will happen.
69 weeks have passed.

There is one week (Seven years) left...of tribulation

Sorry...but that is exactly what is said in Daniel 12

I agree, there are plenty of folks blaspheming the blood of Christ by sacrificing animals or saying that animal sacrifice will resume in the future.

So CHRIST is going to, by violence, destroy this covenant. Is that what you are saying? That the MESSIAH being cut off and the prince to come who will use force and violence are one and the same?

No

There are two being mentioned and the Messiah cut off but not for HIMSELF is indeed THE MESSIAH.

But the prince to come...is not.

And that "prince to come" hasn't come yet...because HE who holds all things back has NOT yet been taken out of the way for that "prince" to be revealed...

They're not doing it yet.
They will once they rebuild the temple.

And...
They don't know what they are doing.

And...
The CHRISTIANS who warn them will be killed for warning them.
because the jews outside of the NEW COVENANT do not know what they are doing.

The rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem will probably be the next step in the near future. This can occur before the rapture of the church or after. One thing is certain, it will be rebuilt in the near future.

I’m sure it is amazing to many Christian’s and non-Christian’s alike, that the building of a church will cause such a worldwide problem. And of all the temples in the world, why would the anti-christ choose this one to desecrate? And why would any one even care about such a small country?

This is all a part of God’s plan. From 70 A.D. until 1948, the Jewish people had no homeland. In 1948 the nation of Israel was reborn. However, the Temple Mount was still held by the nation of Jordan. When the temple area was recaptured in 1967, the Jews wept. The joy of the Jewish people was quickly dashed to pieces. A few hours after the recapture, Moshe Dayan, the Defense Minister of Israel, announced that the Temple Mount would remain under Arab control. The rejoicing of the Jews was turned to sorrow, This action to religious Jews was absolutely beyond comprehension. Jews still cannot go to the Temple Mount area to pray, to offer sacrifices, and, above all, to build their Third Temple. This temple will be rebuilt very soon. There are many organizations right now who have almost all the temple instruments and materials pre-made for the day when they will rebuild the temple.

Something else that is quite startling. Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute stated that, according to the revered Jewish teacher Mammonides, various treasures from the First Temple are buried beneath the Temple Mount. Rabbi Getz, the 82 year old chief rabbi of the Western Wall, said that they know for sure the location of the ark of the covenant, the candle-sticks made by Moses, and the stone tablets containing the ten commandments.

Rabbi Shlomo Goren, the former chief rabbi of Israel, said that they were digging towards these items. The Arabs, fearing what would happen if the ark of the covenant and the ten commandments should be recovered, rioted. The Israeli government became fearful and ordered the digging to be stopped.

(Matthew 24:15), (2 Thessalonians 2:4), and (Revelation 11:1) all explicitly state that the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt in these endtimes. Can you imagine the effect on the people of the world when construction on the Israeli Temple begins?! Indeed we are living in the end-times in view of time.

Read it again.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:

and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27And *he (the prince that shall come) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

One seven year period has not yet happened...

Daniel 9:27 KJV
And he (Christ) shall confirm the covenant (Abrahamic) with many (Children of Abraham) for one week: and in the midst of the week he (Christ) shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he (Christ) shall make it desolate ("Behold, your house is left unto you desolate."), even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

This is all things Christ did aren't they?
