This is my take on these 10 maidens. This is a bittersweet story that happens inside the tribulation and Israel is clearly in focus. The bridegroom coming is a reference to the resurrection. This is a reference to the jewish wedding analogy so often spoke about in the scriptures. Sleeping sometimes refers to the awaiting for the Lord after death of the body but not so in this story.. Salvation cannot be changed after death for all decisions are made while the flesh is alive in the body. There was no condemnation of the wise or the foolish for sleeping. (waiting)

It was custom in the days of Jesus that the bridemaids led the bride to the bridegroom's abode (in this case heaven), along with the entourage of the bridegroom. The bridegoom always tried to surprise the bride and always ccame afer dark, so lamps were needed.

The bridemaids represent Israel; God always intended for Israel to bring the gospel to the nations (gentiles), both jew and gentile alike.

“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to restore the preserved of Israel;
I will give you as a light to the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” Isaiah 49:6

Everyone was ready---both wise and foolish, but then a disaster--Bridegroom was delayed. Now no dealer would have been opened at night which leads me to believe a darkness has came over Israel. This is near the time when the antichrist is coming into power and because the bridegroom was delayed some sought another. The dealers are the disciples of the antichrist leading some to destruction. The oil they are selling is fuel for the lake of fire. The foolish are saying, "Is this the one we seek?" Is this the Messiah?

15 We looked for peace, but no good came,
for a time of healing, but behold, terror.
16 “The snorting of their horses is heard from Dan;
at the sound of the neighing of their stallions
the whole land quakes.
They come and devour the land and all that fills it,
the city and those who dwell in it. Jer 8

Hear the parable of the sower. When anyone hears the words of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches what is sown in their heart--

This leads us back to Luke 17--one will be taken and one will left
No
Israel is the wayward wife gone awhoring.

Mo connection in the 10 virgin parable.

Virgin = saved/pure/ undefiled

They get martyred during the gt.

They appear in heaven and the Holy Spirit depicts them has coming out of the Great Tribulation .
they are the innumerable number that John saw in heaven waving palm branches. I think the palm branches are a clue indicating that they are All In bodies. They are the five foolish virgins left behind.
they were shut out of the wedding and now deal with the Antichrist.
they're forced to draw the line and not step over it.
They failed to get the baptism of the Holy Spirit ,which is the extra oil, but apparently they had enough savvy to refuse the mark.
so they get beheaded, become martyrs ,and appear in heaven as the innumerable number waving palm branches
This is a nice story - it is not truth according to Scripture but will make a good book for fiction reading.

You can title the book - 'Left Behind' and make a lot of money...............oh wait, someone beat you to it.

Question: Where are the spirits/souls of all the Saints who die in the Lord since His resurrection???
"...at home [G1736] with [H4314] the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 (when any individual believer dies).

But that ^ does not explain the scene in Revelation 4:4 (and context), where:

--they are "having been clothed [perfect participle] with white raiment/garments" in the section of Rev covering the [future] "IN QUICKNESS [NOUN]" time-period (per 1:1 / 1:19c / 4:1);

--and why they are wearing "stephanous / crowns" (which Paul said would be awarded "in THAT day" [and not to him only], per 2Tim4:8... not the day he would DIE ;) [see also 1Thess2:19 for its "timing" issue]);

--and why they are seated on "thrones" (in a certain "setting"/"scene");

--not to mention, why they are saying (in 5:9) "hast redeemed US to God by thy blood out-of EVERY kindred/tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation"

On the contrary - it FULLY explains Revelation.

Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11Behold, I am coming quickly!
Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
12He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

13“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Unplug your spiritual ears my friend - take out the 'pre-trib' ear plugs that satan hands out in the Laeodician churches.

Are you suggesting that EVERY TIME an individual believer dies and is "at home [G1736] with [G4314] the Lord" (2Cor5:8) in their spirits/souls (while their bodies remain in the grave), that this scene in Rev4-5 (court-room/throne-room setting) is in play??

Or are you completely misunderstanding the point I was endeavoring to get across?

"Because you have kept the word of My patient endurance, I also will keep you out of the hour of the trial being about to [certain to / sure to, mello] come upon the whole inhabited world, to try those dwelling upon the earth."

Endeavor to keep His Word and "add nothing to it AND take nothing away from it"

When the Holy Spirit sees in our hearts obedience to Christ thru His words, He leads us into more Truth.

It is always a choice that we make, in our hearts, of whom we will follow.

Yes it does. It fits perfectly. Those who do not gather that rich golden virgin olive “oil“ and instead remain biblically illiterate, will be easy prey for the vultures (fallen angels) who will come to gather them to the false lamb's marriage. They will be deceived by the antichrist because they are unaware of the fact that Satan, the antichrist, will appear before Jesus, the true Christ. They didn’t study so they didn’t learn any Truth and on that Day, it will be too late.
the devil knows the bible well. many theologeans know it better that both of us put together. Knowledge (truth) is not the game changer in the rapture. Your trying to connect "mental" into being worthy.
If it is truth that makes us worthy in the rapture, then Jesus would be saying "pray that you may be counted worthy via truth, to escape the things about to come upon the world and stand before the son of God"

The wise took EXTRA truth, and filled their vessels with truth WHEN THE TRUTH THEY HAD RAN OUT?????? You lose truth?????
huh?
like i said ...test fit it.
"during the night, their truth ran out."?????? Their truth got lower and lower and ran out?????

Do You realize that you can't lose truth?

Regarding the OP... here's what I put in a different thread, about the "OIL" and the "LAMPS LIT":

Post #217 (pg 11 of a different thread) - https://christianchat.com/threads/the-rapture-end-of-days.201854/post-4690770

[note for the readers: I do not believe the "TEN Virgins [plural]" or even the "FIVE Virgins [plural]" are who He is coming to "MARRY"... but that this pertains to "the wedding FEAST / SUPPER" (i.e. the promised and prophesied EARTHLY Millennial Kingdom, commencing upon His "RETURN" to the earth)]

The LORD Jesus Christ did, in fact, say: Truth makes us Worthy of the Kingdom of God.

“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

What you said is Truth = "to start walking in truth and righteousness, keeping the commandment, statues and Judgement."

There is only One Way for this to take place in a persons heart and has been the foundation of Truth since Genesis.

The Oil is symbolic and represents that One Way.
no.
not in the parable.
the gamechanger (oil) ,in the parable, is not a salvation or perseverance issue (all 10 are VIRGNS / undefiled/pure/).
it is a "worthy" issue.
It is a protocol issue

Christ the LORD said to those Saints in Rev 3:7-13 that they already had their crowns.

Why argue with this or seek to make a doctrine either for or against???

Motives dear friend = the Holy Spirit sees the motives of a mans heart.

The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.

Well, even Paul had said, "...there is laid up [present indicative]..." 2Tim4:8 - https://biblehub.com/text/2_timothy/4-8.htm

... that the Lord WILL award him ("in THAT day"... and not to him only)... future tense...

not that Paul was presently wearing it (or would upon his death, even. No.)

We cannot lose the Holy Spirit either. God promised He will be with us forever. So the oil isn't Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:13
13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

John 14:16-17
16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Now ask, what are things we can lose? Can we lose faith? Can we lose positional forgiveness in our relationship with God? (not that permanent forgiveness we get through Christ's blood sacrifice, by the forgiveness we need when we grieve the Holy Spirit through sinning). Can we lose truth by being deceived? Many things can fit. The irony is what seems to fit the least is the oil being Holy Spirit, yet it's a common interpretation.

Nowhere did it indicate they lost salvation.

The only diff is in EXTRA oil.

That is the ONLY diff.
Please excuse my being late to this conversation :)

If the only difference is extra oil, why then does Jesus say He does not know them?

"Them" being the five foolish virgins ;)

They are shut out of the wedding feast. That seems a pretty significant difference....

10 b Those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet, and the door was shut.

11 Later the other virgins arrived and said, ‘Lord, lord, open the door for us!’

12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’ From Matthew 25

Immediately following the parable of the ten virgins is the parable of the talents.

Jesus starts that parable by saying, "For it is just like a man going on a journey,"

Three servants were given his possessions to look after while their Master was away...

Two were rewarded for investing wisely, but to the third who had not, the Master said:

29 'For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. But the one who
does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 30 And throw that worthless
servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

He calls the one who did not wisely invest "worthless." And casts them out...

Amen - Let us allow Christ to decide 'who what where and when' and not elevate it above the more Authoritative Foundational Sciptures, such as 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 John 2:18-19 , 1 Timothy 4:1 , 2 Thess ch 2 and the Gospel.
.
