Some will most likely find what I'm about to say controversial but I feel it needs to be said...

A person can not truly operate under the unction (anointing) of the Holy Spirit, be it by the fruits or the gifts of the Spirit, if enslaved by sin. Now don't get me wrong, it might be possible for you still operate in a such a gift that God has given you with sin in your life seeing as God rarely will take something from you that He has already given you however, the Holy Spirit will not honor your 'gift' by working in the hearts and lives of those you trying to reach while you are using that gift.

It doesn't matter how gifted of a speaker you might be, you can forget about seeing souls saved in your services if you are enslaved by sin because the Holy Spirit will not be present. It doesn't matter how gifted of a musician you are, few lives will be impacted by your worship because the Holy Spirit will not be present. How can I say this? Because the unction (anointing) of His presence can only be carried by those who put forth the effort to live in His presence. It is a guarantee that we will stumble into sin when we neglect to abide in His presence on a daily basis.

Oh God, may we attempt to do nothing in Your name without first seeking your Divine Presence for without it our own best efforts are but 'hay and stubble' that will fail miserably ...
