1 John 5:11 - And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Praise God! :)
And yet Jesus said many who say Lord Lord (believe in His name) will not be saved. So believing is much more than just believing in Jesus. The devil believes in Jesus but won’t be saved. Believing in Jesus means be living in Him.

You are adding to Scripture again.

And the devil does not believe in Jesus! Jeepers.

I know you exist but I do not believe in you.

I don't believe you, either LOL

Biblical hope is not some cross your fingers hope I win the lottery kind of hope. Unlike the English word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. - Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope.

Strong's Greek: 1680. ἐλπίς (elpis) -- expectation, hope

If we have saving faith in Christ, then we have this hope. Faith is the substance of things hoped for.. (Hebrews 11:1). So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 3:7).

These were not genuine believers in Matthew 7:22. Jesus never knew them which means they were never saved. (verse 23)
I never said it was cross your fingers, those are your words, not mine.

Sure he does, are you saying the devil doesn’t believe Jesus existence ? The devil wanted to be like Jesus and be above Jesus, He definitely believes, but he does not be live.

John 17:2-3~ You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all
those You have given Him. Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent.

What were these people trusting in for salvation? Works (Matthew 7:22) which explains why Jesus never knew them. John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

1 Corinthians 12:3 - Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except BY the Holy Spirit. There is divine influence or direct operation of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a person when confessing Jesus as Lord. This confession is not just a simple acknowledgment that Jesus is the Lord (even the demons believe that), but is a deep personal conviction that Jesus is that person's Lord and Savior.

So simply believing in our head (and not in our heart) that God raised Him from the dead does not result in righteousness and simply giving lip service to the words "Jesus is Lord" not by the Holy Spirit is not unto salvation.

If the devil believed in Jesus, he would not have rebelled. You are very confused.

I know you exist but I do not believe in you.

I don't believe you, either!

In James 2:19, we read that the demons believe "mental assent" that "there is one God," but they do not believe in/have faith in/trust in/reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation. In other words, they do not believe in/on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) and are not saved. Big difference! Their trust and reliance are in Satan as demonstrated by their rebellion in heaven and continuous evil works.

People who trust in their works for salvation/trust in their best efforts to obey the 10 commandments etc.. could not have assurance of salvation because they would always be wondering if they measured up. Yet ONLY Jesus Christ measured up.
Yes, Justification by faith alone. this is our only hope. There is No other way to measure up but by the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

This isn't about being Justified or being righteous by faith.

It is about the sabbath in the bible.

Did God change it? did God remove the sabbath?

For the same reason you love God and want to not take His name in vain, or not bow down to graven images we should acknowledge the sabbath and keep it holy.

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Yes we keep the Sabbath holy by honouring the Sabbath.

But we can not keep the Sabbath, the Sabbath is the lords rest that keeps us..

That's all I'm saying and I'm not trying to be argumentive.

You don’t have to agree with me, I’m okay with that. I know what salvation and eternal life is. God is the one writing in the Book of Life, not us. Many believers who think they are saved will not be in His Kingdom- He said so in His own Words, we don’t judge ourselves Christ does. Many never come to the light of God’s Truth, because they want to stay in darkness and only the Truth will set us free. I leave the judging to God, He is our righteous Judge, He knows our hearts and many want the promises of scripture, but don’t want to follow His teachings and there will probably be a lot of surprises in heaven- people who we thought would make it but didn’t, people who thought wouldn’t but did.. Only God knows, I have faith in His judgement.
His judgment based on what? How well you perform? Or how well He performed?

My concern is that you aren't sure when the Bible teaches we can be sure.
John 3:16...Jesus was given by God to give eternal life.
John 17:3...eternal life is knowing God.
John 20:31...the gospel was written that people would believe and receive this life.
1 John 5:13...the book was written that we would know we have eternal life.

I agree that there are those who are self deceived and believe they are saved and are not. But they aren't saved so they are still dead spiritually. That is much different than being alive and assured. There is much more to spirituality than you suspect. And there is much more to knowing God than you have experienced. You don't have to hope God will judge you fairly. You only have to know the righteousness of Christ is your garment. If God judges anyone fairly without the righteousness of Christ, they will surely perish.

Amen. Saying since you know something exists, you believe in it, is ridiculous in the extreme.

I know Satanists exist. I don't believe in them.

I know Wiccans exist. I don't believe in them.

I know magicians exist. I don't believe in them.

I know soothsayers exist. I don't believe in them.

Need I continue, or do you believe in all of them???

You’re missing my point, I never said the devil has faith/trust/reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation again, your words not mine, but believe in Christ is a big Word yet people reduce it to a small word, that all we have to do is believe in Jesus and we can do whatever we want and be saved. To believe in Jesus means to be live Him- we need to completely surrender and follow the example Jesus left for us. There are many who believe will say Lord Lord but will not be saved, only those who do the will of God and not practice lawlessness. Mat 7:21-23

Are you trusting in keeping the sabbath day for salvation? Our sabbatismos rest is found in Christ (Hebrews 4:9) in contrast with keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law. (Colossians 2:16-17) Things have changed under the new covenant. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9; Hebrews 8:13)

You seem to believe in the existence of Jesus, yet your trust and reliance is in your works for salvation and not in Jesus Christ alone. You seem to conflate believing with works. That's the point you are missing.

The Ten Commandments and the Sabbath was not, is not just for the Jews. Do you have any idea how many references there are to the Ten Commandments, the Laws and the Sabbath just in the NT. you are misinterpreting (Col 2:16-17) He is talking to the Jews and believers telling them not to let unbelievers judge them for keeping the Commandments, his Laws. The blood sacrifice is the old mosaic Law, Moses Law. Jesus was / is our sacrificial lamb. That did not abolish the Ten Commandments. They are gods law not in any part of The old mosaic or Moses Law. Q: If the Ten Commandments are done away with why are the commanded in the NT over and over and why did God say all flesh will come to worship him from one Sabbath to another on the newly created earth?
100% correct, all 10 commandments still and always apply.
