Most error comes from our preconceptions about God and His ways. As much as we want to believe we are submitted to God and understanding of Him and His ways, we are seldom what we suppose ourselves to be.
Yes true GOD wants us to be Holy as he is HOLY, we all have a lot to learn.

Magenta true most of the mosaic law cannot be followed, but the covenant is mainly about the 10 commandments.

The new covenant is not yet in effect see my post;

Jesus instituted the new covenant during the Last Supper, stating, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood" (Luke 22:20)

. The book of Hebrews describes the new covenant as having been made, noting that the old covenant has become obsolete due to the establishment of the new covenant (Hebrews 8:13)

. Additionally, the apostle Paul writes that believers are ministers of a new covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6)

indicating that the new covenant has already begun to be implemented.Therefore, although the full realization of the new covenant's promises remains future, the new covenant itself has been made and is currently in effect.

The statement in the book of Hebrews that the old covenant has become obsolete due to the establishment of the new covenant is a significant theological concept within Christian doctrine. In Hebrews 8:13, the author is highlighting the superiority of the new covenant over the old covenant established under Mosaic Law.
The old covenant, characterized by laws and rituals, was temporary and served as a foreshadowing of the ultimate redemption to come through Jesus Christ. The new covenant, on the other hand, is based on grace, forgiveness, and a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
By declaring the old covenant obsolete, Hebrews emphasizes that with the advent of the new covenant, there is a new way for humanity to be reconciled with God. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross fulfilled the requirements of the old covenant and inaugurated a new era of salvation and spiritual freedom for believers.
This passage underscores the transformative power of the new covenant and highlights the fulfillment of God's redemptive plan through Jesus Christ, making it a foundational teaching in Christian theology.

show me the verses i am listening.

BTY you did not read it .
I didn't read it because I knew it to be false. The old covenant was given by God to Israel. It called for obedience and gave the stipulations for obedience and disobedience. Israel failed to keep the terms of the covenant and the 1st century destruction of the temple and Jerusalem was the result. Another covenant was offered to mankind. This covenant wasn't between God and men, but between God the Father and God the Son. The only requirement to be in this covenant is to be in Christ. And the only stipulation is that one believe. This became available to all mankind once God accepted Christ's perfect life and atoning sacrifice. The evidence that it was accepted is that He was given a name above all others and seated Him at His right hand. The evidence for all this was first viewed at Pentecost and has continued as eternal is granted even to our day.

There is a great difference between Judaism -- a religion developed among the ancient Hebrews and characterized by belief in one transcendent God who has revealed himself to Abraham, Moses, and the Hebrew prophets and by a religious life in accordance with Scriptures and rabbinic traditions -- and the Jewish people.

I am a Jew by the first birth and a Christian by the second birth. Jesus was a Jew, as were all the authors of the "books" of the Bible (with Luke being the sole exception) and all His early followers.

Johann, we have to look at the wording, Jesus used testament (KJV), I saw this also and researched it, there is a major difference. I know testament is appropriate in the context of the last supper before his death, A covenant as you know is quite different. Yes also many of law of Moses are no longer required, the covenant God made was all about the Commandments.

Returning to the thread's subject...

The sabbath is a day when no work is to be done, i.e., a day off. This concept was unknown in ancient societies where work was required seven days a week.

Of course, Jesus pointed out that the "law" was to be generally observed, but that there were exceptions.

Luke 14:1-6, "One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. There in front of him was a man suffering from abnormal swelling of his body. Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?” But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him on his way.

Then he asked them, “If one of you has a child or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull it out?” And they had nothing to say."

I disagree-

. The book of Hebrews describes the new covenant as having been made, noting that the old covenant has become obsolete due to the establishment of the new covenant (Hebrews 8:13)

Answer
To provide an exhaustive exploration of these Scriptural passages and their implications, I will present the relevant verses along with an exegetical analysis.

I. Luke 22:20 — Institution of the New Covenant at the Last Supper
And likewise the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

In this verse, Jesus establishes the new covenant using the metaphor of the Passover meal, where the Israelites were instructed to drink from a cup symbolizing deliverance from bondage (Exodus 12). By referring to His own blood being shed, Jesus signifies that His death would bring about a new covenantal relationship between Himself and His followers.

II. Hebrews 8:13 — Obsoleteness of Old Covenant Due to Establishment of New Covenant
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Here, the writer of Hebrews argues that the new covenant renders the old covenant obsolete because it offers something far more substantial—a permanent solution to sin and alienation from God. The old covenant could only temporarily cover sins; however, the new covenant provides eternal forgiveness and access to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

III. 2 Corinthians 3:6 — Believers Are Ministers of a New Covenant
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Paul uses the term 'ministers' here to describe those who proclaim the gospel message of the new covenant. Unlike the old covenant, which relied heavily upon external regulations and rules, the new covenant focuses on the work of the Holy Spirit within believers' hearts, leading them into a deeper relationship with God.

From these three passages, we can conclude that:
Jesus institutes the new covenant during the Last Supper, establishing a new relationship between Himself and His disciples based on His sacrificial death.

The book of Hebrews states that the new covenant makes the old covenant obsolete, implying that the new covenant brings about a fundamental change in how people relate to God.
The apostle Paul indicates that believers serve as ministers of the new covenant, meaning they share the good news of the new covenant with others and help lead them into a closer walk with God.
Despite the fact that the full realization of the new covenant's promises remains future, the new covenant itself has been made and is currently in effect among believers. As Christians continue to grow in their knowledge and experience of the new covenant, they anticipate its final consummation when all things are made new according to Revelation 21:5.

This is strike 2 brother-you don't believe the Pauline epistles and now this-I can go deeper into the Kainos Covenant-ratified and established in the SHED BLOOD of Yeshua -but this should suffice.

I am concerned-no offense.

what is the difference between a testament and covenant?
You are digging a hole for yourself brother-no offense.

The terms "testament" and "covenant" are related but have subtle distinctions in both Hebrew and Greek.Hebrew:
  • Berit: This Hebrew term means "to bind" or "fetter," denoting a solemn agreement or contract between two parties
Greek:
  • Diathēkē: This Greek term means "binding together" or "last will and testament." Although it shares some elements with the Hebrew concept of covenant, it primarily refers to a unilateral declaration of one's will, such as a will or testament left behind after death
In the Bible, the term "testament" is used interchangeably with "covenant" in certain contexts. For example, the Old Testament and New Testament refer to the covenants God made with Israel and with humanity through Jesus Christ, respectively

. However, the Greek term "diathēkē" specifically implies a unilateral declaration rather than a bilateral agreement like the Hebrew term "berit."Confusion may arise because the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, used the term "diathēkē" instead of "syntheke" ("binding together") to translate the Hebrew term "berit"

. Despite this discrepancy, the underlying concept of a covenant remains consistent throughout the Bible, regardless of whether the term "testament" or "covenant" is used.Scripture references:

  • Exodus 19:3–6; 20:1–17; 24
  • Jeremiah 31:31–34
  • Matthew 26:28; 1 Corinthians 11:23–25; Hebrews 8:6–8
  • Hebrews 9:15; 13:20
  • Galatians 3:15–17
  • Isaiah 48:11
  • Genesis 26:28-29; 31:51-54
  • Deuteronomy 29:12; 1 Kings 8:21, 15:19; 2 Samuel 23:5

like i explained in great detail Heb 8 is mostly quoted from jeremiah 31 for the end times
No, the statement that Hebrews 8 is mostly quoted from Jeremiah 31 for the end times is not entirely accurate.
While there are similarities between the two texts, Hebrews 8 draws inspiration from multiple sources, including Jeremiah 31, but it does not directly quote Jeremiah 31 verbatim. Instead, Hebrews 8 builds upon themes and ideas presented in various prophetic books, especially Jeremiah 31 and Ezekiel 36-37.A comparison of the two texts demonstrates that while Hebrews 8:8-12 echoes themes found in Jeremiah 31:31-34, the language and structure differ significantly. For instance:
  • Hebrews 8:8 quotes Leviticus 18:19, not Jeremiah 31:31.
  • Hebrews 8:9-10 expands upon the idea of a new covenant without explicitly quoting Jeremiah 31:33-34.
  • Hebrews 8:11-12 discusses the forgiveness of sins and the removal of the need for sacrifices, which is not explicitly mentioned in Jeremiah 31.
Additionally, Hebrews 8:13 quotes Jeremiah 31:34, but it does not mention any specific eschatological events associated with the end times. Therefore, while Hebrews 8 draws inspiration from Jeremiah 31, it does not focus exclusively on the end times or directly quote Jeremiah 31 verbatim.For a comprehensive examination of the connections between Hebrews 8 and Jeremiah 31, see the following resources:
  • New International Commentary on the New Testament - Hebrews by George H. Guthrie
  • Word Biblical Commentary - Hebrews by David S. Dockery
  • Tyndale New Testament Commentaries - Hebrews by Leon Morris
  • Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary - Hebrews by Andrew T. Lincoln
These commentaries offer valuable insights into the historical, cultural, and literary background of Hebrews 8 and its connection to Jeremiah 31. They demonstrate that while Hebrews 8 draws inspiration from Jeremiah 31, it does not do so in a direct or exclusive manner. Rather, Hebrews 8 builds upon themes and ideas found in several prophetic books, including Jeremiah 31 and Ezekiel 36-37.

How do you know it is false if you did not read it?
Because your premise was wrong, which you already stated. So regardless of how eloquently you make your case, if the premise on which it is based is flawed, the conclusion will of necessity be flawed.

Goes to show it is not about intellectual head knowledge-but where it counts-epignosis-in the Lev-the eyes of our understanding being enlightened through and in the instrumentality/sphere of the Ruach HaKodesh and the message of the Cross.

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

1Co_1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

1Co_2:2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

believeth. or, believing. Gr. pisteuonti. Believing translates pisteuonti, a present tense active voice participle, thus the Gospel is power from God for salvation to all the ones continuing to believe (Malcolm Lavender, Lavender Translation, fn. i). FS121F, +Gen_49:6, The belief is the effect of the power of God through the preaching of the gospel. Rom_4:5, Joh_3:16, +*Act_16:31; Act_20:21.

This is how I believe.

I agree with this view.
According to the New Testament, the new covenant was indeed culminated in Jesus Christ. The new covenant was inaugurated with the death of Christ, as it is the highest point in the initiation process

. Furthermore, the new covenant was ratified by Jesus' blood, as stated in Hebrews 9:15 and 10:19-20

After Jesus rose from the dead, He commanded His disciples to remain in Jerusalem until they received the Holy Spirit, marking the beginning of the new covenant era (Acts 1:4-5)

. Finally, Jesus himself declared that the new covenant was established in His blood during the Last Supper (Luke 22:20)

. Therefore, the new covenant reached its climactic conclusion with the person and work of Jesus Christ.

I am not really into Dispensationalism brother.

title: We are not in the new covenant;

We find in the bible only 4 verses containing the phrase "New covenant" they are (KJV) ;

Jer 31:31-34: 31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
The first verse from Jeremiah is a prophecy about the New Covenant, It immediately follows chapter 30 which is dedicated to the restauration of the lost tribes of Israel and Judah, it is well advised to read Jeremiah 30 beforehand to put things in the context for which the prophecy of the New Covenant was intended, the end times.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
I do not think I have to comment on this prophecy, the text and meaning are clear, the New Covenant will be for a time corresponding to Christ second coming, clearly the end times.
A few more prophecies also speak of the end times and tell us of the restauration of the lost tribes of Israel;zk 28:25, Isa 11:11-13, if you use the cross link in some bible software you will find many more.
Back to the topic of the new Covenant from Paul's writings we have:
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
Heb 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
Heb 8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
Heb 8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Heb 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Here Heb 8:7, Paul confirms the writings of the O.T. that says that GOD knows well that the Israelites would break the covenant. see below;
Deu 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
Deu 31:20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Paul quotes heavily from Jeremiah 31
Note the verse in Heb 8:13;

King James Bible
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

In all versions of the bible, it says clearly is about to pass away it does not say has passed away.
Paul at that time thought that the end times were imminent and he would see the second coming of Christ;
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

to conclude based on scripture and NOT no a personal interpretation. The new covenant is for the end times.
the proof is the fact that many do not follow the commandments, under the New Covenant, as described in ;
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
It is clear to me that we are not yet under the New covenant.
Note also in Rev 11:19 ; Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple. And there were flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm. Rev 11:19 follows the 7 trumpet and seems to be at the time of the Judgment.
According to the scripture you some how excluded.

Luke 22:20
And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood."

1 Corinthians 11:25
In the same way He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

2 Corinthians 3:6
Who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The New Covenant was instituted by Jesus in the first century.

verify all things, I am not speaking against Paul but For Jesus, Paul clearly say he has his own gospel, just do a study on the differences you will see. About Paul lets saw he had a huge ego.

Blessings
Paul is not proclaiming his own gospel.

1 Corinthians 2:2-5
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I also was with you in weakness and fear, and in great trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God.

Paul is actually teaching the authentic gospel without anything added.

Christ crucified!
