1 Thess 4-
14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Where does it say that the Lord will reign on earth???

2 These 2:1 - Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

Where do you think the living believers will meet the Lord's coming?

Where does it say that the Lord will reign on earth, and why do you think Paul was LYING to the Thessalonians about an event that was going to take place 2,000 years after their death? What kind of relief or hope is that? If the event hadn't happened in their lifetime, Paul would have been lying.

Did Paul mention anything in reference to the end of history? You are assuming a whole lot because all you are doing is repeating what someone has taught you. What does 1Thes 2:14-16 say? Take that for a context of what was about to take place. What did Jesus say about Jerusalem in Mat. 23:38? Did He change gears in chapter 24 to talk about an event that the Jews couldn't care less (if that were going to take place in our future).

If you don't make the word of God relevant to the recipients of these letters, all you are doing is manipulating the scriptures to a time that you cannot prove

1Thes. 4:16
“The dead in Christ will rise first”. Notice that Paul does not say, “the dead in Christ will rise in bodily form”, but simply, “will rise first.” The question is then, rise from where? The answer depends on the context of what Paul was saying.

In my personal understanding, it might mean that the dead will rise from their rest in heaven and actively come with the Lord (in the spirit) to judge the Jews that killed them for believing in Christ. Again, the saints that died at the hands of the rebellious Jews and remained, would be witnesses to the judgment of the harlot and the end of the old covenant era. The reason Paul speaks this way is that the Lord was about to close the era of the old covenant as the new and everlasting covenant would immediately be fully released to reach the whole world.

1Thes. 4:17 "Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord."

The term “caught up together with them in the clouds” is a metaphor for being personally involved with them as their prayers to God were finally answered. These believers were primed to watch the destruction of their enemies. A.D. 70 was fast approaching. (See Isa. 19:1 for comparison.)

“To meet the Lord in the air” --- that is, to see the judgment of the Jews in Jerusalem take place from a heavenly perspective. Another way of saying it would be watching the judgment of the Jews from a lofty position of authority as they’d be observing (metaphorically speaking) the Lord judging Jerusalem by using the law of Moses as the rod of condemnation against those who rejected His grace and overflowing love.
it's all nonsense

In the chapter you deny.

Rev 20:4 - I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The verse contains martyrs from the Great Tribulation, who are resurrected and will REIGN WITH CHRIST 1,000 years.

Or how about the previous chapter?

Rev 19-
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God,
18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.”
19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army.
20 But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

This passage is where Jesus prepares to return to earth with all the saints already in heaven. Jesus captures the beast and false prophet and throws them into the LOF alive!!

v.21 refers to the rest of all the armies at the battle of Armageddon, killed by King Jesus.

I said:
"2 These 2:1 - Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

Where do you think the living believers will meet the Lord's coming?"

Where does it say that the Lord will reign on earth
Are you really unable to connect any dots from Scripture? Do you really think that EVERY verse or passage MUST HAVE ALL the pertinent details before you will accept them?

, and why do you think Paul was LYING to the Thessalonians about an event that was going to take place 2,000 years after their death?
A really ridiculous question. I never said or suggested that Paul was lying. And what's wrong with giving some prophecy anyway? The OT prophets sure did. Why don't you go after them as well?

I'd say you're just trying to be difficult.

What kind of relief or hope is that? If the event hadn't happened in their lifetime, Paul would have been lying.
OK, so you DO think that 2 Thess 2:1 already happened then. What was the date and prove it occurred.

Did Paul mention anything in reference to the end of history? You are assuming a whole lot because all you are doing is repeating what someone has taught you.
Rather, I am assuming nothing and what I say is from what I read in the Bible. Something that you haven't done.

The stupidity of it all. Bring one topic about this subject (just one) and I will respond to you according to the scriptures. One at the time.

Difficult to handle more than 1 verse at a time, huh.

I'm not very interested in those who believe Rev 19 and 20 aren't actual events. As you say, "the STUPIDITY of it all".

Yes, the last time I counted was about 40 years ago and at that time I had read it cover to cover 25 times, but many of the individual books, particularly in the New Testament over 100 times. Why?

ha ha. I am on 1 topic. Counting isn't so easy, huh.

Rev 19 and 20 are totally related. The Second Coming of Christ. ch 19 is the preparation of the trip to earth, and ch 20 is Christ's ending the battle of Armageddon and setting up His kingdom after putting the devil in prison.

What and how many topics did you think I was discussing?

I was just wondering because the title of your link borders on lunacy. I have read the book of Revelation about 100 times using different translations, but I have never once thought that this book was written for the future of humanity. I tell you; most people don't know how to read the bible. They ignore context, ignore the original readers, ignore cultural differences, ignore imagery and what it meant to the original writer and its audience, ignore the original language's shades and meanings, and most of all, ignore the holy character of God when it comes to the prophetic. One more, they ignore the Holy Spirit who is the true teacher of God's people. He teaches us His word, not mere fraudulent people who consider themselves experts.

Do you believe that the Lord gave us a book (Revelation) that has been completely irrelevant for the last 2,000 years, and still waits for its fulfillment? What a waste to think that Revelation was written for the future of a generation that hasn't been born yet. Twenty-two chapters without any relevance for the last 2,000 years, wow!

Do you mean to tell me that from the second century on, the book of Revelation meant absolutely nothing at all for the people that have lived ever since?

My friend, the God I believe in doesn't play futuristic games with His people.

If you have light or life from the book of Revelation, then share it. But your post doesn't do anything for me at all. I have no interest in having you or anyone else tell me what the Bible can and cannot say.

I enjoy the sharing of many wonderful Bible expositors and teachers. But I don't let anyone limit what the word can and cannot say.

Also your judgement of the link I shared was not prudent. In that link she quoted Gabriel as saying that the tribulation starts in not many days. Come back in a few months if the tribulation hasn't started and mock all you want. On the other hand, if the tribulation does begin in not many days then you will be put to an open shame and have to answer for this post before the Lord Jesus. I don't fellowship with people who have no fear of the Lord and the coming judgement.

Since you have read Revelation 100 times you are surely familiar with the letter to the church in Sardis. That letter certainly implies if not directly says that believers who are watching for the Lord's return will know the time He is coming even though in a previous place He said that no one knows the day or the hour. That tells me that the day or hour is not written in any book of the Bible nor is it in Enoch or some other book. However, prior to the Lord's return we will be given a heads up, hence the word to Sardis that they won't be given that heads up.

Nothing about the so-called "second coming" in the letter to the brethren of Sardis. Read it ten times and tell me where it implies what you mean? Verse 3? Fat chance. You are projecting to the letter to Sardis what you think it says, but it has nothing to do with your second coming. If Jesus lives in you as He lives in the Father, I wouldn't be concerned about the second coming. I would be concerned about knowing Him right this nanosecond.

Do you?

And calling prophesy "futuristic games" really shows where your mind is.
The book of Revelation was written to the seven churches of the first century, NOT to you or to your imaginary future. God bless, I pray that the Lord may open your eyes.

Rev 19 and 20 are very clear and literal. It's Satan who wants people to spiritualize the chapters rather than know the truth.
The book of Revelation was written to the seven churches of the first century, NOT to you or to your imaginary future.
I will use Scripture to refute your fantasies.

Rev 1:1 - The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

You think "soon" means in the next 5 minutes or some such nonsense. john was speaking of future events.

1:4 - John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne,

So tell me, WHEN did Jesus "come" according to your theory?

1:7 - “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”So shall it be! Amen.

So, when did this happen, according to your calendar?

22:16 - “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

While your narrow mind thinks Rev was only for 7 churches, everyone else who actually understands the Bible knows that the 7 were representative churches with different problems and challenges, and APPLY to all the churches today.

In fact, EVERY epistle is for ALL believers of all time.

And 22:16 clearly is about all believers.

But you are free to nurse your fantasies.

God bless, I pray that the Lord may open your eyes.
Instead, I'd suggest that you pray that the Lord would pry open your own tightly closed eyes to see the truth.

You are not even close.

Mm, I wonder how the first century church looked at the words of Revelation. Did they try to find a single verse that pointed to the 21st century? Perhaps you can help them find out where in this book does it say that its contents were reserved for the end of history.

Chapter and verse?
