Reading in Hebrews this morning. There is so much to this book, I don't think any man could ever digest it all properly in one lifetime, altho I suppose some have.
At any rate, this passage spoke to me.

Hebrews 2:2,3 "For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him"

Let the message sink in. The old testament was the time this passage refers to. That is when angels spoke to us. Every man in the old testament that disobeyed an angel paid a price. God was serious when He sent an angel with a message.
Obviously "the Lord" here is Christ. The very son of God. God has no more important messenger than His son, so it stands to reason His most important message would be delivered by His most important messenger.
Ignore His message and there is no escape.

Let no one who reads these scriptures have doubt any longer about the importance of the new testament, Christ's message from God, over the old. It is a message of more importance than the old, being brought by the most important messenger.
I would encourage folks that observe the law and it's rituals to reflect on that when you read these scriptures.

... told me that.

Did that last sentence make any sense to you? No? That's because you missed the first part of the sentence. Remove the OT and you do the same thing.
