This really tickles my prophecy bone!
Last I heard, pre-covid, they believed that they were excavating the "actual foundations" of Herod's temple in the old city. However, because of political tensions, they had to be really quiet about it. Have you heard anything new?

To quote a TOUR GUIDE from the CITY of DAVID, by the name of, FRANNIE:

The only thing you cannot find in the OLD CITY is ANCIENT JERUSALEM. In fact, almost all of the JEWS were in exile from 135 A.D. - 1212 A.D. The first significant thing the did was form a Sanhedrin. THEN the Sanhedrin VOTED on where every thing actually was. There was 4 difference places the certain Jews thought was the Location of the TEMPLE actually was. That VOTE came up by a very thin margin, and what swayed the thin majority, was the erroneous thought: IT HAD TO BE ON THE HIGHEST HILL ON THE EAST SIDE, in 1212 A.D. WRONG!

When it came time to Vote on where the Mt. ZION was, the Sanhedrin was equally Wrong. They forgot that after 132, when Prince Simon Bar Kokhba kicked the ROMANS out of the country, he ordered the REAL temple mount on the OPHEL be leveled several FEED, which was Bedrock in preparation for the THIRD TEMPLE, because the Temple to Jupiter was built there by the ROMANS, had defiled the Bedrock. The Romans came back in 134, and in 135 Prince Simon got killed by the Romans. Thus his plans to build the Third Temple, never got more that the ground was lowered deep enough to make it acceptable for TEMPLE to be built.

Another thing the Jews totally forgot about the history of the LAND, is the City was RENAMED by the ROMANS, to Aelia Capitolina.
Quote:
Aelia
came from Hadrian's nomen gentile, Aelius, while Capitolina meant that the new city was dedicated to Jupiter Capitolinus, to whom a temple was built on the Temple Mount. The Latin name Aelia is the source of the much later Arabic term Īlyāʾ (إيلياء), a 7th-century Islamic name for Jerusalem. Wikipedia
:End Quote. (over 600 years)
EVERY BUILDING that was built by JEWS, was TORN DOWN, as prophesied by JESUS. My guess, those supplies with stockpiled to Built Aelia Capitolina. That is how the Old City was built, after 135 A.D.

Another thing they TRIVIALIZED, was the Size of the ROMAN TENTH LEGION.

You can look this up: It was 5000 - 6000 Troops, and as many 4000 Support Personel. You see the ROMAN ARMY, had to buy Everything on Base. They were not allowed to buy anything from downtown. So Barracks for all those people and Stores had to be built, as well as a hospital, food halls, entertainment, reck halls, stables for 160 horses, Roman Baths, etc.

Now try to fit everything in this dinky fort:

That is a LAUGHABLE UNDER ESTISTIMATE. It was much, much closer to this:

There is a second level indicated by windows, and a ground level for Stables.

1640284160499.png

See the Windows?

One more thing to point out bout the so-called Temple Mount. It has no large enough THRESHING FLOOR. LOOK HOW MUCH DAVID PAID FOR IT?

1 Chronicles 21:23-28 (HCSB)
23 Ornan said to David, “Take it! My lord the king may do whatever he wants. See, I give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the threshing sledges for the wood, and the wheat for the grain offering—I give it all.”
24 King David answered Ornan, “No, I insist on paying the full price, for I will not take for the LORD what belongs to you or offer burnt offerings that cost ⌊me⌋ nothing.”
25 So David gave Ornan 15 pounds of gold for the plot.
26 He built an altar to the LORD there and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. He called on the LORD, and He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.
27 Then the LORD spoke to the angel, and he put his sword back into its sheath.
28 At that time, David offered sacrifices there when he saw that the LORD answered him at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2 Chronicles 3:1 (HCSB)
1 Then Solomon began to build the LORD’s temple in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the site David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2 Samuel 5:7 (HCSB)
7 Yet David did capture the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

2 Kings 19:31 (HCSB)
31 For a remnant will go out from Jerusalem and survivors, from Mount Zion. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.

Psalm 76:1-2 (NASB)
1 God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.
2 His tabernacle is in Salem; His dwelling place also is in Zion.

Psalm 132:13 (HCSB)
13 For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home:

So ZION and Mt. MARIAH, have to be the SAME PLACE, so ZION has to be in the MIDDLE OF MT. MARIAH. NOT WEST OF THERE, IT IS THE OPHEL, directly in line of the RIDGE known as Mount Mariah.

NOW you are ready to receive the TRUTH:

1640286991130.png
Do you see the CONTRADITIONS that causes when you use the so-called Mt. Zion and/or the non-level ground of the so-called Temple Mount? That Threshing Floor had to be on flat BEDROCK, the PRICE dictates it. That level Ground IS the OPHEL - - - IT ALL FITS.

Much like this but probably larger:

With Store Rooms more larger, and the circle much larger

And, let's not forget the proximity to water lol...

Can you imagine if they started performing sacrifices again in the original location? That could potentially mean that a complete 3rd temple will not be necessary to satisfy prophecy...

What a day to be alive!
Thanks VCO!

You would still need a holy of holy’s for the abomination of desolation to take place. And the day of atonement to be possible. Even before the temple. They had the tent with the most holy place.

In my post #2,656 I dealt with the NEED for SPRING WATER. The Gihon Spring is a rare type Syphon Spring, which means if you plug the two bottom holes, it will naturally Syphon it up to the top level. The two bottom exits, were naturally formed, but the upper half may have been enhanced by man, especially the Cistern part.

Here is another picture that may give you a better idea of what David's Threshing Floor looked like.
It had storage bins one side, with a LARGE bedrock floor. How do I know it was a GRADE A threshing floor? The PRICE David paid.

.

It had to have a storage building, yes archaeologists found it. And this double could have been the same size, NOTE TREES in back.
It had to be similar in size, to justify the PRICE, plus David wanted space for all of Temple complex to fit in. See, a person is in this picture in the middle to the right side of the circles. Ornan had 4 grown sons helping him on that Threshing Floor. NO WAY THIS COULD FIT ON THE SO-CALLED TEMPLE MOUNT. The price was JUSTIFIED, the SIZE was JUSTIFIED, and WATER was no problem with the Warren's Shaft exiting about where the guy is standing. ONLY THE OPHEL FITS THE BILL!

Do you know what I think the abomination of desolation actually is ? ? ?

On the WING of Temple, could be THIS:

Another very interesting video, with Several Christian Scholars giving their almost unanimous opinion that the OPHEL was where Solomon's Temple was built:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Some artist actually READ the story in the Bible, Most do not bother to analytically read the story.

These guys actually read it, as the shepherds were the only MORTALS that showed up that first Night.

NO MAGI showed up then.

NO CAMELS did they ride. They rode Arabian Horses, that were the major source of income for most of the Magi, as they sold them to all countries in the Mid-East as WAR HORSES.

NO they did not cross the southern Desert They crossed up Northeast of Jerusalem where there were lots of rivers. Look for a Map of Ancient Babylonian Empire.

NO they did not arrive at his BIRTH. They arrived after 2 years, because they first went collected HOMAGE from every village in their REGION to take to the NEW KING. They were NOT KINGS but the Magi were those the Kingdoms HIRED to conduct CORRONATION CEREMONIES anywhere in the Mid-East.

NO there were not only three of them, look it up. Traditionally they traveled with at least 10 of them, PLUS a 100, or 200 armed guards to protect the Treasure they were traveling with the HOMAGE of GOLD, Frankincense, and Myrrh; the traditional Homage gifts.

All Herod had for Protection in Jerusalem at that time, was his Palace Guard, as his ARMY WAS AT WAR. NO wonder Herod PANICKED and ordered his guards to kill all the two year old's and under.

See, those few artist actually read the Story. While others only used their faulty imaginations.

Matthew 2:8-12 (ASV)
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search out exactly concerning the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word, that I also may come and worship him.
9 And they, having heard the king, went their way; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshipped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Here is the approximate territory that Tribe of Magi occupied.

Here are some photos of that area around Urmia, to prove it is not desert.

Josephus said it also. Note that Prince Simon Bar Kokhba reduced the Mt. to a HILL when he wanted to build a Third Temple, but got KILLED three years later, when he wanted to remove the defiled Bedrock caused by Rome giving permission to built a Temple to Jupiter on the original Temple Mt.

QUOTE:
Zion, in the Old Testament, the easternmost of the two hills of ancient Jerusalem. It was the site of the Jebusite city captured by David, king of Israel and Judah, in the 10th century BC (2 Samuel 5:6–9) and established by him as his royal capital. Some scholars believe that the name also belonged to the “stronghold of Zion” taken by David (2 Samuel 5:7), which may have been the fortress of the city. The Jewish historian Josephus, in the 1st century AD, identified Zion with the western hill of Jerusalem, where most of the city lay in his day. This incorrect identification of the site was retained until the late 19th or early 20th century, when the site of Zion was identified as the eastern hill (modern Ophel). The site was not included in the walls of Jerusalem’s 16th-century fortifications. Britannica

Why is this IMPORTANT ? ? ? It is not the Temple Mount, it is Fortress Antonia, home of the 10th Legion, with approximately 6000 Troops, 160 Horses, and 4000, 10000 all together. They we not allowed to shop in the JEWISH community. They had to do all their shopping on post, in Fortress Antonia. Again, they were not allowed to comingle with the Jewish Community, that is why I think that Garden area on the southwest corner, was strictly for the Legion, for walking, picnicking, and recreation.

So they had to cover up the Double Gate, to make that space. Here is the open air ROOM in question. With walls on all four sides.

Archaeologists find 2,700-year-old toilet in luxurious palace in Jerusalem
The extraordinary find sheds light on life under the kings of Judah: "Only the rich could afford toilets."

Who lived in the superb palace and enjoyed its spectacular view over the Temple Mount of Jerusalem some 2,700 years ago? Perhaps it was one of the biblical kings of Judah, possibly Hezekiah or Josiah, or other members of the royal families. Or maybe it was just a wealthy individual, a member of the elite.

Whoever the residents of the beautiful structures uncovered by the archaeologists in the neighborhood of Armon Hanatziv were, they enjoyed a unique privilege: a luxurious private toilet.

The facility was recently discovered in an excavation by the Antiquities Authority (IAA) and the City of David, which opened prior to the construction of a new tourist complex on the promenade, the IAA revealed on Tuesday.

“At the time, a private toilet in a house was extremely rare,” said archaeologist Yaakov Billig, director of the excavation on behalf of the IAA. “Most people were just forced to find someplace private to relieve themselves. Around 1,000 years later, a group of rabbis in the Talmud discuss who is to be considered rich. Different rabbis suggest different answers, and one of them, Rabbi Yossi, says, ‘One who has a toilet next to his table’.”

According to Billig, only a handful of toilet remains from the First Temple Period have been found in Israel.

“In many cases, they were not complete toilets, but just toilet seats,” he said.

In the palace of Armon Hanatziv, the cubicle was a rectangular cabin hewn in stone. The toilet seat, with a hole in the center, was designed to be very comfortable. Under the toilet, a tank stood, where remains of pottery, animal bones and soils were collected.

“At the time, such pits were also used as garbage cans,” Billig noted. “The vast majority of the vessels found were bowls. It could be that they were some kind of disposable dishes, but also that they were used as containers for aromatic oil and were put in the toilet to improve the smell. We hope that some further analysis on the residues will provide answers.”

In addition, the bones will offer information on dietary habits, while the examination of the soil could shed light on parasites and diseases among ancient Judeans.

Only limited ruins of the palace survived, but during the excavations, the archaeologists encountered several artifacts offering an idea of the high status of the building, including remains of decorated stone capitals and small columns. A lush garden was planted around the toilet.

“Unfortunately, Jerusalem was destroyed and rebuilt many times and materials were reused,” said Billig. “However, from the magnificent architectural fragments we found, we can see a structure whose beauty is not matched by anything else from that period found in the country.”

Two Pillars Capped with these Cap Stones of DAVID, seem to verify it was King David's private commode. Why is the excavation by the Antiquities Authority (IAA), so reluctant to VERIFY that it is in the Palace of KING DAVID ? ? ? It is where it is LOCATED, on the first part as one approaches from the South of King David's Palace. The Southern end of the OPHEL. Because if Solomon, inherited King David's Palace, look what the two different historians had to say about this site, and what Josephus said is adjacent to the Place?

Eusebius (a 3rd Century Historian) wrote: (QUOTE)

Does that look like King Solomon built the TEMPLE right behind the Palace, therefore it is on the OPHEL, to the North?

"The hill called Zion and Jerusalem, the building there, that is to say the temple,"

JOSEPHUS Book 8, Chapter 5, Section 2; which King Solomon rebuild or remodeled to look like this:

Book 8, Chapter 5, Section 2:
This house was a large and curious building; and was supported by many pillars; which Solomon built to contain a multitude for hearing causes, and taking cognisance of suits. . . . There was also another house so ordered, that its entire breadth was placed in the middle. It was quadrangular; and its breadth was thirty cubits: having a temple over against it, raised upon massy pillars. . . . To this was joined another house that was built for his Queen. {He had several other previous wives.}

Does that look like King Solomon built the TEMPLE right behind the Palace, therefore it is on the OPHEL, to the North? The blue line is the City Limits to Jerusalem, the City ran SOUTH from the OPHEL. Every bit of the CITY was TORN DOWN, by the ROMANS and used as building supplies for the Roman City of Aelia Capitolina in 70 A.D. NO, the so-called Western Wall, is part of the Fortress Antonia.
THAT IS WHY THE IAA IS SO RELECTANT TO RECOGNIZE THE PALACE OF KING DAVID OR EVEN PART OF IT. LOOK AT THE REAMAFICATIONS.

Amazing...the trickle of verification like this of God's existence and Christs' era on this earth, appears to be increasing in the last 2-3 decades, it seems as signs that God is offering help for the non believer who is looking for proof.
