Romans 14:

10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

See also:

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Even born again believers will stand to give an account ...

We will not be judged worthy of salvation because of any works we have done. But we will give an account ...
Agreed.
As long as you agree that works are necessary, as Jesus said to do them...

Who said that?

We will be judged by our relationship to God.
Did we BELIEVE in his Son?
What did we do about it?

WE WILL NOT BE JUDGED BY OUR WORKS.

But we must work. JESUS SAID SO.
Read Galatians 2:16 and tell me how you understand it.
What are the Works of the Law?

What is the Obedience of Faith?

What do YOU think I'm saying??

So so we will not be judged by our works, but we must work or we will be judged?

every mans work, or every child f Gods will be tried?
My view....1st Corinthians 3 for the saved....works tested by fire.... faithful works-->gold, silver and precious stones, unfaithful or not as faithful--->wood, hay and stubble<---BOTH SAVED

LOST---->Great White Throne--->Works judged by the LAW--->afforded levels of punishment based upon said works....ALL the LOST

Here is John 1:4&5 from the Amplified Bible:

4 In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men.

5 The Light shines on in the [SUP][c][/SUP]darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].

Look at these verses from John 3 (again from the Amplified Bible):

John 3

16 "For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [SUP][a][/SUP]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.

18 Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation]; but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced], because [SUP][b][/SUP]he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him].

19 This is the judgment [that is, the cause for indictment, the test by which people are judged, the basis for the sentence]: the Light has come into the world, and people loved the [SUP][c][/SUP]darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

20 For every wrongdoer hates the Light, and does not come to the Light [but shrinks from it] for fear that his [sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned.

21 But whoever practices truth [and does what is right—morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light, so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are—accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence on Him]."

Hope/pray the above verses help in understanding John 1:4,5.

Personally, I think this topic of Light / darkness is a fascinating subject.

Actually, it does help renewed. It was the KJV word of comprehend that I was having trouble with. I'm sure there is loads of nuggets that we can glean yet from this topic...

So we best get to it...lol

I will I'll be sure to save this post, and I may even report this to the mdds

if your buddy comes in here and slanders people, he will get the same treatment.

if he wants to discuss doctrine, he will have no problem, even if we disagree

I expect you to report it to the mods, out of fear.

We can either walk in the light of the Truth and trust that we have died with Christ (thus ending the law's hold on us) and that Jesus finished wirk on the cross is all than will ever be needed to make us righteous thus submitting to God OR we can go about trying to make ourselves righteous through works and thus NOT obey God. Can't do both.

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Either we put down our pride and ego and believe we are who God says we are or we go by what we "think" we are....trusting God's Word when all the evidence points to something else is called faith.

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Again, the gospel Jesus gave paul is one of grace and faith yet we as humans find it so difficult to trust in what we can't see that so many miss the simple, loving message of my Lord and Savior Jesus. He did it all on the cross because we could never, ever accomplish what is required in and of ourselves. To say we must somehow do this or not do that to stay or get saved is the height of arrogance. In effect when one does that they say they are more powerful than God....

I know.
Christianity is a nutty "religion".

It's the only one where a person could go to hell because they stole a pen...

but end up in heaven even though they killed someone.

What makes the difference?

Faith in Jesus makes all the difference, without it there is no hope.

Amen.

OK.

So now we're saved.

Now what?
Did Jesus say we have stuff to do, or did He not?
THAT is he question these days...

How can works be tested by fire later? It's the things we go through here in life. Plus we have seen many mega preachers fall in the last so many years. It has to do with judgement...and chastening.
