What is combative about God's truth found in Hebrews 8......

Maybe you will respond to my post next time if I am more careful next time to use the past verb tense of the subject conjugated with the adverb, that remains in place by the adjective describing the infinitive agreement structure of the dangling
participle....

MAYBE you should pay attention to God chastens ONLY SONS......so genius....why does he only CHASTEN SONS..what is the purpose for GOD chastening a SON....is it

a. Because the walk faithfully
b. BECAUSE they sin

which is it? EASY to answer!

Hilarious....because you know my point is valid and if you have read many of my posts you would know I fully understand and have made references to God placing our sin as far from the East is from the West and God not remembering them no more...
The points of the thread are clear....go read the OP again and understand why this thread was made anyway bro....peace!

Self righteousness ^^^^ personified in one single post.
that is his theme song.....his righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees and Jesus....after all...the righteousness of Jesus imputed is a neat trick that does not work.....sad for sure....

it is very sad. sad that we bring up grace salvationism and get scolded and lectured for saying that we are saved by grace.

Yet they can't see, The pharisees did the same to Jesus for teaching the same message.

They think they are not like the pharisee when they are.

Amen!

I believe a lot of sincere believers have left the church ( not Jesus ) because they could not live this religious Christian life that was being preached to them. They loved Jesus " in their heart" but they didn't want to be a hypocrite so they backed away from the organized church.

Then there is the group that struggled with a certain sin and were never taught about grace properly and so they left because they were defeated. Constantly feeling condemned and guilty and full of shame. The legalists keep preaching at them to change!

The only change that is effective is from the true manifestation of the life of Jesus that is already in us - in our new creation and that only comes with the message of the gospel of the grace of Christ.

I believe there are thousands of Christians like this but I also believe the Lord is bringing them back to Him - only this time it will be based on the true knowledge of Him and His love and grace for them.

Let's make sure that they are met at the door by the loving Father and not the judgmental older brother who didn't know the Father's heart towards His beloved children whom He loves dearly.
I was one of them who left the church.

now I make sure I meet people at the door who like me want to come back to church. I also seek out those missing in action.

Jesus said come to me who are weary and I will give you rest, give me your burden and take mine. Yours is heavy and mine is light.

Its about time we stopped placing heavy burdens on people, shooting the wounded and start looking out for them and seeking them when they go missing in action.

Being more like Jesus rather than the Pharisees

Pretty sad?

hmm let's look at what Jesus said

Matthew 23:13-29

Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous.

And finally as Paul states

Romans 10:3-4
Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Boy am I thankful for Jesus

As a Marine I would go down in a still smoking pile of spent brass to defend family, friends, Jews, Believers and fellow soldiers of any flavor as long as they are allies.....

The same is true of the sword.....I will go down swinging truth to combat these hellish, false gospels of works and sinless perfectionism to the very, bitter end.......and make no mistake....the end is coming and time is short.

To not swing away is to concede to evil and heresies.......by default ;)

That's why we need to be preaching the love and grace of Christ to them - give them the gospel instead of a false gospel of works. It's time to Repent and believe the gospel just like Jesus said in Mark 1:15. The gospel means "good news"...news is something that has already happened!
Amen to that...the correct message the gospel of salvation.....called faith....it pleased god by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE<----the simplicity that is found in Christ!

So our message is believe in Jesus and you will be saved.
But believe what about Jesus, and do what as a result? So much has been cut out

Believing in Jesus is so easy, hold the book in your right hand close your eyes
and it will magically transfer straight into your head. You do not even have to
do anything because God knows you are now a perfect, holy, heaven bound
individual who will serve Him forever with great joy, even if you have no clue
what that means and show no capability of doing anything that is expected of you.

Lol. Heaven is just about believing, because that is what the bible says, believe Christ
and you are saved, instantly, forever, never able to be lost even if the next second
you decide it all stinks.

Well genius, God chastens His children so they might be more fruitful.
Did not see that is your options ... wonder why not? Maybe because you
think in too narrow a way with too judgemental an attitude.

Right, and a true believer is qualified by the NT Scriptures.

One may believe, but if the person does not repent, or, has not repented the person is not a genuine believer; Acts 11:18; 2 Timothy 2:25; 2 Peter 3:9. This is called easy-believe-ism. It is rejected by Scripture; 2 Timothy 2:15.

One may say he believes, yet if he is not being transformed by the Gospel, a new creature, he is not a believer; Romans 12:1ff; 2 Corinthians 3:17ff, 2 Corinthians 5:17. This is held by those who believe there is no evidence of conversion, another fomr of easy-believe-ism and stems from the false teachings of FGT coming from Dallas Theological Seminary and Grace Evangelical Society.

One may say he believes, but if he lives and practices sin, he is deceived and is not a believer; 1 John; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19ff, Hebrews 12:14. Persons who support such in their sin, and claim them as saved no matter what are preaching antinomianism. This is what Christ dealt with in Matthew 7:21 ff, those who live lawlessly.

The bottom line? The tree is known by its fruit.
