A Jew, should want the Covenant I HAVE, not me, wanting Their Covenant, that is now Null and VOID!

I mean , Seriously, why was John Calvin, trying to be a Jew, in a Covenant, that is long been DEAD?

And why are Followers of John Calvin, trying to do the Same Thing?

Are YOU TRYING to DISOBEY the WILL of GOD?

He made a NEW COVENANT!

So, either Get on Board or DROWN!!!

God knows how Sinners are formed in the Womb, as well.
He knows us ALL.

I don't understand, how isolating one example, for some, means, it applies to everyone?
Who came up with that, since, it is not the Norm for the entire Bible?
Shouldn't we Established things that are a Constant in God's Word, not things, that are One Time Examples?

Jesus Heals, we see it many many many times.
Guess what?
We know, that Jesus Heals, because it is Mentioned over and over and over.

But these Doctrines are based on examples so scarce [2 literal Examples : Both Time JEWS], but we apply that Covenant to ourselves, when as GENTILES, we have a Different and New Covenant that EVEN the JEWS must follow.

So, if the Jews must follow the Gentile Way, why are Gentiles, trying to follow the Old Jewish ways and claim it means, Them?

That is almost the definition to Skitzoism!
So, if the Jews must follow the Gentile Way, why are Gentiles, trying to follow the Old Jewish ways and claim it means, Them?
You lost me with the line above. I dont understand what you are saying.

Got it now i read the other posts.

Having never studied Calvin writings i have no clue what he wanted.
The covenant between me and the Lord was brought about through the shedding of His blood. His life Death and resurrection.

The un-regenerant person as described in 1 Cor 2:14 would not listen to spiritual
things that he thinks is foolishness. Only those who have been born again with
the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Eph 2:1-5) will listen to spiritual things.
Jesus says otherwise.

There are more examples in the Scriptures David is easy to spell.

As our sister @Beckie mentions, some folks see it from day one, no need that any man teach us.

I didn’t grow up in the church, none of my family are Christian. Growing up in the US I obviously heard the gospel and even felt sorrow for my sin and at times attempted to change, read the Bible etc. but it never stuck.

At age 38, I picked up a motel Bible and began reading Matthew, by chapter 18 I truly believed, prostrate I wept in Godly sorrow for what seemed like months. From that day on I became a slave to righteousness, in love with Christ and his word. As I watched my nature change I simply knew this faith, repentance and sanctification was not my own.

Wasn’t until over a year later someone called me a Calvinist, the way they said it seemed derogatory lol. Googled it when I got home, found RC Sproul, Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, John MacArthur, Paul Washer etc. It was confirmation for me, I’d only read the Bible and actually attended a synergistic church from day one. In other words, no man taught me. I being born from above by the Spirit of truth, simply read the Bible.

2 Corinthians 7:10

[10] For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

You were taught by scripture, seems reasonable to me.
What I do not believe is people who go to bed as pagans and wake up as believers with no knowledge of Gospel, I ain't buying that.

About the Womb, and God knowing us there?

Jeremiah
God kept Moses . Most male babies his age were murdered . There is Esau & Jacob, Isaac ,
Gen 30:22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
Gen 30:23 And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
Gen 30:24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.
Jdg 13:3 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Samson
Samuel John the baptist .
Even the blind beggar
Joh 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Joh 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Rom_9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Seeing or reading things differently while in the boundaries of Christianity is not a bad thing.

I dont believe the interactions above happened by chance. All the factors around the birth of Jesus were His plan. From Caesar calling for the tax to the rooms at the inns all being full. Even ugly king Herod . The shepherds were not chance nor the wise men.

The fact that most of those examples are flat out Miracles, just tells me, many of these are Answers to Faith and Belief that God will make a way and God did.

Other Examples, like Moses, makes sense to know about because of the Role Moses fulfilled in God's Plan. Another similar example is Esau and Jacob.

But indeed, God is there, and always at the point of Creation.

I have been "accused" of being a dreaded Calvinist before as well, because I believe some of the same stuff they believe.

Ya know, like Jesus is God in the flesh come to die and pay our sin debt, and was resurrected to life, among other things.

What I find interesting is the great amount, and usually vitriolic number of anti-calvinist threads, especially in comparison to the number of anti-arminian threads.

I think people kinda got the incredibly erroneous idea that calvinists are not Christians, and not their Brethren.
I agree. I believe Romans 8:28-30; yet I’m not a Calvinist.

continued . . .

Someone actually told me that Romans 8:28-30 were Calvinist scriptures! duhhh….
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

- Romans 8:28-30 (KJV)

It is just hard to understand how theologians can be so wrong on one part and yet have so much to offer in other areas.
Every Christian has two options. Study and rightly divide the Word of Truth, or embrace man-made doctrines at the same time and try to reconcile the two. The Reformers failed to TOTALLY REJECT all the teachings of the Catholic Church, so they also allowed men like Augustine to influence their theology.

"John Calvin wrote, "Augustine is so wholly within me, that if I wished to write a confession of my faith, I could do so with all fullness and satisfaction to myself out of his writings."[3] "This is why one finds that every four pages written in the Institutes of the Christian Religion John Calvin quoted Augustine. Calvin, for this reason, would deem himself not a Calvinist, but an Augustinian. [...] Christian Calvinist, should they be more likely deemed an Augustinian-Calvinist?"[4] Cary concurs, writing, "As a result, Calvinism in particular is sometimes referred to as Augustinianism."[5] "

There’s two clear paths that can be traced through the church’s history, the Augustinian and the Pelagian.

The Augustinian path leads us through the reformation to folks like RC Sproul and John MacArthur.

The Pelagian path leads us through the reformation to folks like Joyce Meyer and Kenneth Copeland.

Two paths, one narrow and one wide. One of grace and the other of man’s ability.

There have been other paths, one that is neither, the one that is biblical.

We’re speaking of soteriology, there are only two soteriological paths.

Almost Heaven West Virginia

The general teaching from Calvinistic teachers back when I listened to them was that there were only Calvinists and Arminians, those two camps and none other. That made me wonder what I as a Baptist had in common with either?

There actually are not only two paths, I do not think scripture teaches selection, nor does it teach a person moves their will to be saved, faith cannot be willed.

There are only two soteriological paths because there are only two soteriological choices.

There’s the Augustinian which is monergistic and there’s the Pelagian which is synergistic.

Or Calvin (monergist) vs Arminian (synergist).

Or MacArthur (monergist) vs Osteen (synergist). 🤣
