Okay... So, if an LGBT person asked you how he or she can be saved, what are you going to say?
Obey the 600+ laws of the Mosaic covenant because you're gay and need salvation plus! Lol I don't have any gay friends or relatives, but I side with Paul here because Jesus is standing with open arms, inviting all to come to Him on the same basis. His atonement alone.
If we find a little cringe factor in regards to gay people, that's on us and we need to get over it. Don't you think that's what Jesus wants? I do. And besides, He suffered for my sin, though I deserved to be punished.

Whatever... I never said that God is okay with LGBT people. References in Romans make it clear that LGBT behaviour is an abomination to God. But it is not the unforgiveable sin. The Scripture says that all manner of sin and iniquity shall be forgiven of God. So LGBT conduct is just another sin in the general catalogue of the works of the flesh. Paul says that we should forsake the works of the flesh and to walk in the Spirit.

But by the same token, someone's personal life and their conduct is a matter between them and God. I am not the Holy Spirit. It is not my role to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment to come. It is my role to be faithful to the Lord in the way I live my own life in the Spirit and to preach the Gospel of Christ when I am given the opportunity.

It is the Gospel of Christ that is the power of God that leads to salvation for those who choose to believe it. Preaching the Gospel is not bashing LGBT people over the head with condemning Bible verses, and it is not telling them that God hates them and they are going to hell unless they repent. I think a lot of religious people's condemnation of LGBT people is nothing more that basic homophobia. An LGBT person is not a leper, and yet any professing Christians treat them as such. It is no wonder that LGBT people are very hard to reach with the Gospel. They have had to put up with constant condemnation from "Christians" all their lives, and so they think that all Christians are the same as these condemners.

So, you are welcome to go and find a church where everyone meets up with your ideals and where no LGBT person would dare come near it. Then you can quite happily fellowship with like-minded people and not get your hands dirty with sinful people who might need the Gospel as much as you do.

What a f_._l you are. Who is spouting self righteous, holier than thou rhetoric.

I have homosexual friends. They are the humbliest people I know bc of the persecutions they suffer for their sin. I don't preach or teach to them bc their sin is strong and it will take the word of all powerful love in God's word to break it. I don't condone what they do either!

Church that's laughable, there isn't any of those left only buildings with quasi religious people in them.

When people become born again, that means NEW BIRTH. It does not mean continue as you were, for if you continue in sin ,you're a sinner still, not born again.

I believe this is the hardest sin to walk away from unless GOD truly saves that soul and breaks the chains that bind them. It is not just about sex but rejection, lack of confidence, lack of worth something or someone beat their spirit out of NORMAL.

If however they do submit to the HEARING OF THE WORD,and accept Jesus' offer, then an about face will be done against that sin.

Evil has soothed the condemned souls and certain people have lullabied them into believing they are accepted at God's table without a wedding garment on. There is only NO CONDEMNATION to those in Christ.

Do you also attend the same or another nblm church( building), if so and your heart has not repented, then I say be born again and GET OUT of that FALSE religion!

That must have made your day, brother. I'm on ignore because I won't yield to that religious spirit that comes to tell other believers in the guise of a prophet that they are fools. He has no understanding what the prophetic ministry is in this day in which we live. If he did he would learn to practise that peaceable spirit he told me I had when he posted me in my profile to tell me that I had a peaceable spirit on the sixth of January this year.

Screenshot 2022-02-05 at 09.14.18.png

Now @Gardenias thinks that @PaulChristensen is connected with an independent Reformed Calvinist church in the north of England - when he lives in NewZealand not the UK.

You and I have posted to one another in another forum and you messaged me on my profile on the 1st January 2022 *into this forum_ to wish me a Happy New Year. You live in Canada.

Screenshot 2022-02-05 at 09.17.13.png

So now you have stood by the comments of @PaulChristensen on his position (in part) with LGBT issues and the way believers ought to approach the men and women who are broken by that abominable sin - and you are on a warning - subtly implied in that seeming quiet spirit that passes for grace.

Well this is a forum and so at times there are misunderstandings - but there are also ill effects as well. Its better to be wholly transparent if we are going to start taking others to task in the manner @Gardenias took myself to task when he eventually decided I was still of the devil. The Lord knows.

" Oh NO I won't eat you said the spider to the fly as he tightly wound the fly in his web"

Poor fly,the more he jiggled and wiggled the tighter the web got!

Some people are like both the spider and the fly.
Lies and deceptions easily flow from their mouths without the regard of giving an account of every idle word. Mt.12:36. Because of the distortion of the fly's eye, vision is unclear,so he's continually busy buzzing about to find a place to lay his filth. James1:21. The NIV says it well also.

Hebrews 4:12 For the WORD of God is alive and active.Sharper than ANY DOUBLED EDGED SWORD,it penetrates even to dividing of soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the THOUGHTS and ATTITUDES of the heart.

The sixth piece of armor we are to put on is the SWORD of the SPIRIT, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6.

Really, brother, you need to either speak plainly or else desist from making others to be a parasite. You should post whatever you believe is meet to upholding the Gospel. Or if in a prophetic countenance then meet to pull down lies and harm. You can't have it both ways - unless you separate both things. And even then you should be clear where you are walking. Otherwise you simply sow confusion. This is a forum - so in its public meaning - make public what you believe and evidence it accordingly. I have no issue with that, brother. Just be very plain and try to resist playing with words. God Bless you.

Vivus est enim sermo Dei, et efficax et penetrabilior omni gladio ancipiti: et pertingens usque ad divisionem animæ ac spiritus: compagum quoque ac medullarum, et discretor cogitationum et intentionum cordis. Hebrews 4:12

Do you see the term Romphaeam there (above) brother?

But it is here (below) in its ligatured form isn't it, brother?

Et angelo Pergami ecclesiæ scribe: Hæc dicit qui habet rhomphæam utraque parte acutam: Revelations 2:12

Stop playing with words - you are not nearly as gifted to wield the prophetic sword of Christ as you think. You will aways fall into a pit of your own making if you try to do so.

So if you post that the word of God is sharper than any two edged sword and do so to inflect what is clearly visible in your meaning to myself as it is to you - then don't be surprised if you defeat your own ambitions when my avatar means a sharp two edges sword - and you want to make it a gladiatorial contest. Peter did that at the super table when he along with an unnamed brother brought swords to the table. Either wield the sword and stop babbling - or strike the ear and let us see whom the Lord heals before you deny Christ three times!

Introduce them to Jesus. Let them know he was crucified for the sins of the whole world and anyone who will repent (turn to Him and away from their sin) and put their faith and trust in Him shall be saved.

I have no idea what is going on here.

I haven't seen where anyone on here has said stone the gays because they don't even have a chance at redemption. Any Christian should know better than that.

The thing is though, you don't allow gays and all the other sexual deviants up behind the pulpit preaching, singing, etc. The same goes for fornicators and adulterers.

I know gay people and pray that they will get saved.

I don't hate any gay people. But one thing I do hate and I'm sure God does too...when you see folks living a gay lifestyle and proclaiming to be Christian and saying it is okay with God... bringing shame and reproach.

Yeah, we are supposed to love the person but hate the sin.

It depends on the attitude of each person how they need to be dealt with: On some have compassion on others save by fear pulling them out of the fire...

Jude 1
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh

it must be someone who I can't see that I have "ignored".

Gays are not the issue chritians who have comprised the word of God is. Christians have done this because family members have come out as being bound to homosexuality. It was a great embarrassment to them. many reacted ungodly to their own children. The Church was not much help.

I think it is @Gardenias who was "ignoring" people and I THINK I'm on that list per post #1411 but Gardenias seemed to address Paul then me then Paul without clear distinctions.

But I agree that the "alphabet soup" (as my wife calls it) seemed to explode upon the scene suddenly and FEW handled it perfectly or even well.

I thought the "canned prayer" of post# 1410 did a good job of acknowledging the uncertainty that believers were experiencing. But it seems Gardenias took it to mean "everything opposite to how the situation should be handled or perceived". .

But that's hard to sort out because I've received no reply since #1413. *Shrugs*

What about yourself do you believe is sinful that you need to be saved from it?
I was a total sinner, and then I put my full trust in what Jesus did for me on the Cross. He took the guilt and punishment for my sin from me and exchanged it for His pure righteousness, so that now I can stand before God and fellowship with Him without any shame, fear or guilt. Although the presence of sin is still there as it is with all of us, it has no power over me.

The same as Peter…

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off —for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

Since this is a thread about the value of tongues, I'll get back to sharing testimony of the benefits of speaking in tongues...which is speaking to God, not man, per I Corinthians 14:2... which means tongues is a form of PRAYER per 1 Corinthians 14:14. So I'll share how I'd used tongues in prayer and what the results were.

At age 18 I got married to a girl who was 21 and had moved to my area to get away from a wild lifestyle which had produced 3 children (2 of which she brought with her) and a string of increasingly abusive relationships.

As she gained courage to flee from the last abusive relationship she adopted the idea of "I'll never let another man tell me what to do"... along with the idea of only wanting a singular man who would actually love her and her children. (Which turned out to be me).

Meanwhile, through my own series of events (and a story too long to include here) I had prayed specifically for "A short, pretty blonde with 2 kids, who thinks I'm special"... Which turned out to be her... even though I didn't know she existed when I prayed it. (It was based on the details of that longer story.)

Skipping details,.... God brought us together. I got baptized in water in Jesus name for remission of sins and received the Holy Ghost with speaking in tongues. And a few months later we got married.

Now she's got the man, and I've got the girl we each prayed for. BUT... She's still got that idea of never letting a man tell her what to do. And I'm a naive 18-yr old who just became the head of a household. Can you see a problem brewing?

I was shy and unsure of myself. She was outspoken and seemed way more confident than me (having lived on her own as a single mother of the 2 children with her). Plus, in her eyes it seemed the easiest way to "never let a man tell you what to do" was to take the role of ALWAYS being the one in control. BIBLICALLY that's not right. But I had no idea how to correct it and didn't want to act "Jerry Springer" (letting emotions make me look like a fool) nor did I want to demand submission (becoming abusive).

So what I did was (for the first time) take those 2 concepts of "Can ye not watch (pray) one hour?" and the idea of Romans 8:26-27 that the Spirit (by speaking in tongues) helps our infirmities and prays the things we don't know how to, and in a way that IS according to the will of God. (Otherwise known as "praying well".)

I basically said "God, you want me to pray in the spirit and to watch (pray) an hour. I want to be APPROPRIATELY in authority and have an APPROPRIATELY submissive wife. Can we work something out? I'll try praying an hour a day in tongues. I want to see what you'll do for me. But I'm not promising it'll be my best hour or my first.. just that I'll do it sometime each day."

And I did. Sometimes late at night walking around in the house to keep myself awake. And I did it for about a week.

Continued next post...

On that last day, as we drove from our small town to the next, I noticed that one of the girls was not in her car seat so I began to pull over to stop and hook her in. Wifey said “We’re almost there. Just keep going.” and I pulled back onto the road to keep going.

But my conscience was reminding me that we are biblically commanded to obey the laws of the land… So I made the decision to be obedient to God and pull back off to hook her in.

That wasn’t submission to Wifey’s rule.

She asked me what I was doing then got mad and prepared to go into one of those abusively demeaning tirades she’d learned from bad parenting and bad relationships.

In my heart I knew she was about to speak a bunch of cursing teardowns upon me. I also knew that, because I was being obedient to God, those curses would take no effect on me…but if she said them she would have to give account to God for every word she said.

So, out of love for her and NOT out of concern for myself, as she opened her mouth to cuss me out I cut her off saying only these 4 words “Don’t even say it”. But those words came out with an obvious authority that neither she nor I knew I possessed.

She sat back in silence and in what appeared to be utter amazement. I, seeing I finally had the upper hand, WANTED to say something more… but couldn’t think of anything. And I certainly didn’t want to say anything that would mess it up. So I just buckled the kids in and we drove the rest of the way in silence… me still trying to think of something I could have added…LOL.

So, Did I continue praying in tongues an hour a day since I discovered it yielded results? NOPE. Listening to the not-so-brilliant human flesh that I have, decided “Hey, it worked! I got want I wanted. Now I can go back to sleeping instead of struggling to pray that hour every day.”

And, of course, that bad decision led to bad results and other stories of “How God had to deliver me”.

“And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.” - 2 Chronicles 26:5 KJV

Absolutely LOOOOOVED reading your testimony!

It has really encouraged me to also tarry for 1 hour with Jesus and let the Holy Spirit pray in me, over me and through me with the precious gift of speaking in tongues!

Thank you KelbyofGod!(y)
