Sister, believe me my sense of humour is almost as difficult as my speech. Sometimes it is so abstract that even the recipient can't tell if I am being easy over or scrambled - for you its easy over seeing as you wish me to be papped. :p

I'll take the Shakespeare - but only because the other two got shot.

Before this night did come in brief moment,
This sudden cause did press and make,
I did with wonder gaze at beauty,
And all my foolish thoughts away.

The Dark night of the Soul

Just for you Sister.

Thank you!

I am a lover of words, an avid reader,a writer and lover of poetry and prose.

One reason I love the KJV is for the structure of speech that is encased amongst it's pages. I have the 1611, as well but with the words spelled in the writing of the time I stumble in reading it as well.

Lol
And you wonder WHY?
READ YOUR STATEMENT AGAIN I DISAGREE!

Didn't sound like a joke to me but an affirmation, made in error!
I deliberately changed the last phrase. The original reading was, "You and I are the only ones who truly know what's going on around here, but I'm not so sure about you!" For our fine feathered "brother" (I actually have two brothers and he ain't one of them!), I turned the statement around to make it more ironic. The reality is that our friend gives the impression that he is totally correct and the rest of us have faulty doctrine. People like that are usually taller than me and when I look up at them I get a pain in the neck!

It's par for the course. This person goes after me too . . . like its a game to be rude.
It's like watching a British comedy movie where the department manager is all into power and control, but when he gets home he is a hen pecked husband! Nine times out of ten a husband who says "Yes dear" all the time to a domineering wife, comes on a forum like this and throws his weight around. I'll bet our "brother" will give me a red cross for this post! :)

Call that a sense of humour? Here's a sense of humour: "The unsuccessful Scottish hunter went out into the fog and mist".

Seriously. You nailed it. It is places like this, just like the comment section of YouTube, where people literally practice at trying to figure out how to develop confidence. It is a process of figuring out how to stand up, conquer, dominate and control others so that they can feel the sense of self-worth they have always been looking for. This kind of control and dominance . . . it is nothing be weakness, insecurity, and self-hatred.

I'm sure that most every day we all look into a mirror at our reflections.

What do you say when you look at yourself. Do you say oh man,you have got it all going on ?.Good looking, pretty, smart, snazzy dresser, well groomed, all positive things you can think of.

Who are we that we fill ourselves up with such self importance.

We should see the light of the gospel shinning through us. The joy of the Lord on our face, and his love radiating from our eyes!

We are to be confident people with this thought" if God be for us,who then can be against us"

I don't think my post will disappoint you. :)
That reminds me one time when I was entering the theatre to participate in an elective C section. Whilst I was waving my scrubbed up hands in the air for the theatre nurse to don the rubber for me she ever so sweetly led me to the surgeons throne and proceeded to report. I said, "good God woman. I put the baby in there - I sure as hell can't take it out." To which humour the surgeon who came in behind me roared with laughter and the dear nurse suddenly realised I was the father. I felt ever so special! (from another place).

Sincere humour is intentionally clear - incitement is as mad as the crowd - as mad as going into the fog and mist and then stumbling over the standing stones. The only real difference may be whether our diffusion is an elective falsehood. Rather like as with straining to look at the man whom we assert is a tall man - it may be better to kneel down and wash his feet in our own tears. Mercy is ever the friend of humility - and deliverance is ever the sword that strikes the head of Pharaoh to deliver those whom the Father will bring to Himself - whom having received Christ then fall back on their own reason - when the remnant insist on going into Egypt and take the prophet, whom they have rebuked, with them.
