Wasnt David already married anyway? What happened to Michal. And Abigail. Why did he have to go after Bathsheba again? Never made sense to me.

David instructed Joab to have men withdrawal from Uriah in the middle of battle, so that he would die. David clearly had relationship problems with Saul's daughter. There was no real "reason" he had to take Bathsheba specifically- he was just saw her (undressed) and wanted her. Not only did his first child with her die, but the Lord tells David that he would be betrayed in the same way- and he was, one of his sons that rebelled, I think, took his concubines, publicly.

Naboth of Jezreel who refused to give his inheritance to the wicked and that evil woman Jezebel forged lies against him and false accusations against him in order to put his innocent blood to death and justify it to themselves and the foolish public that helped them and steal his inheritance by very dark guile and deceit and murder.

List the most tragic/worst ones in your opinion...Jesus crucifixtion excepted.
Some come to mind

Abel...slain by his own brother
Samson...crushed by pillar he pushed over along with Philistines
Jezebel....fell out of palace and blood licked up by dogs
Absolom...hair stuck in a tree
John the Baptist....beheaded on a platter
Adam and Eve because they put death in all of us and we are all dying! I don't want to die!

Uriah the Hittite. His murder is probably the most scumbag-move in the bible.
I hadn't read the whole bible before I saw "Man in the Iron Mask" as a kid, but that part of the movie where DiCaprio's character pulls that same move as King David- it really stood out to me.
It was very difficult to not think of David as a scumbag for a long time... but when I think about the circumstances and the aftermath he had to live with, I suppose he paid the price.

I have no doubt Uriah has a good reward in heaven. I find it very interesting that his name is mentioned in the geneology of Jesus. It seems odd to bring up that detail in the middle of a Geneology.
What is frightening is when they both show up in the new world and Uriah figures out how he died, lol! God will have to referee that one!

That's a parable and not a real event. People are dipping their finger in water to cool off a fiery inferno and talking to each other from different dimensions. A lot going on. It is a parable of the Jewish class and the common man.

still tragic though

the rich man could have entered Paradise had he given up his riches or offered Lazarus more than just crumbs

that was awful

I wonder if Jesus really did kill the latter day Jezebel's children who was encouraging church members to fornicate and sacrifice to idols or if he spared her children upon repentance ..see Revelation 2:23

I cant think how they would have died though maybe just went to sleep and not woken up. Few things cause a woman to repent except their own child/baby dying.
