" these two particular men are present because they, and they alone, are qualified as witnesses to Who is in the cloud: Jesus Christ, the Son, God Himself in flesh.

the transfiguration therefore is witness of His deity".

How are they qualified as witnesses?by keeping the covenant and his words.(water,Spirit)
they are not the only men to have kept His covenants and words, but the only ones to have been inside the shekinah and seen Who dwells in it ;)
to that they are the only men qualified to witness, having seen with their eyes: that Christ is God

At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.

I know the water and blood are for remission. What you mean by water and spirit we do not because we have heard the witness of the blood and believe?

Spirit(Holy Spirit),the water(water baptism) and the blood(blood baptism) are needed for believers under the new covenant. They do testify on the earth like you say they do.But without the testimony of Jesus,we have nothing to bare witness of.His covenants on Mount Sinai, and on the cross are what we testify of.Through the Sword of the Spirit.
So,the word of God(Spirit) the water(old covenant) the Blood(new covenant)= his Two Witnesses.

Ephesians 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

There is no putting on the armor of God without strengthening ourselves through his word.
I’m meant to type “ we do it because we believe “

think of how the New Testament begins everyone’s coming to get baptized in water as preparation for the messiah as the Old Testament foretold in its final chapters

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me:

and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”
‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭KJV‬

water

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Which shall prepare thy way before thee.

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1-2, 4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

then you have the lords word of the new covenant which was foretold in the prophets

spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and of course the blood of remission which also was foretold in the prophets

“for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

See all Of these three agree on the message of gospel that our sins are forgiven , that we have been born again unto God by his provision.

“and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:46-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The message becomes that we have been given life and the life is in the son of God and his gospel. The three witness of the New Testament promosed from the beginning and manifest in the last times of christs birth , baltism , receiving the spirit , ministering and preach g the word of God , dying for sins , bekng raised up and glorified in the heavens where he sent the spirit to those who believe the witness of the gospel

the water , spirit and blood all
Witness the forgiveness of sins and new birth in righteousness , eternal life

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish

This is the true revealing of the transfiguration, and why they were witnessed by Peter, james, and John. Everything is explained right here in 1 John 5:7-8 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit(Word of God) , and the water(old covenant), and the blood(new covenant): and these three agree in one.
That passage in the first epistle of John is not related to the Transfiguration nor to Revelation 11. As to the "water" mentioned, it is either (a) a metaphor for the water of the Word of God (the Gospel) which bears witness to finished work of Christ , or (b) to the water of baptism, which also bears witness to the finished work of Christ. The Holy Spirit should not be confounded with the Word of God, and the water should not be confounded with the Old Covenant.

Yes brother doctrine is often referred to as water in scripture. The doctrine tells us to get baptized for repentance and remission of sins .

baptism in water is a witness of christs death to sin and resurrection to God applies by faith to the believer who acts upon it

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

….knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-4, 6-7, 11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the word tells us about the water of remission according to the blood of remission based on the word of remission

but yes the word is referred to as water and spirit also fire , also truth . also a double edged sword , a blessing , a curse , also life and death , ect but what does the word say for us to believe and do ?

it’s also what created things and also what holds all things together. Even the lord God is called the word.

the gospel when it begins the word shows us the witness water of remission , the blood of remission and the spirit or word of remission. The word is what’s telling us of these three witnesses in a believers life.

jesus was born of the waters of baptism , received the spirit from heaven and spoke the word and then shed his blood for remission of sins

“This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Dwell on this: "Our God is a consuming Fire"

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

What did God come to consume when HE baptizes us with the Spirit and with Fire?

This would make for a great thread which you could do, if you feel led.

PEACE my Brother

They were discussing Jesus'" departure that would take place at Jerusalem (Acts 1).
they were talking about his death

“And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elijah: who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he came to consume us! And restore us to our rightful place in creation as his children

Just after that happened Peter began preaching the gospel and commanding people to get baptized for remission of sins !! And said they would receive also the same spirit

Watch the three witnesses here
Peter just preached about the death and shed blood earlier in the chapter he then witnesses of baptism and receive the spirit

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38, 41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m not a leader brother definately a follower and supporter of others called to lead though . I would always join whatever thread you began on any matter as long as I’m welcome

@posthuman has already addressed this in post #14. You can respond to him if you disagree with the translation...
...unless you are a KJV onlyist and have some other agenda, such as being contentious about the (not so infallible) KJV translation.
Any Christian can easily deduce that "departure" points to Jesus' death (and more). A KJV-translation-debate is not necessary for such a simple verse in Scripture.
If I have misjudged your intention, please tell me. If not, then respond to @posthuman , not me.

uh no I don’t bother getting into arguments over things made plain nor an I insisting anyone needs to agree with me.

“who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:31‬ ‭

“who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:31‬ ‭ASV‬‬

“They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“who appeared in glory, and were speaking of His departure [from earthly life], which He was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:31‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“They were glorious to see. And they were speaking about his exodus from this world, which was about to be fulfilled in Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s notable that after this Jesus began to preach about his death at Jerusalem though

“From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

next chapter is the transfiguration where they appeared discussing it

If the appearing of Moses and Elijah was pertaining to Acts 1 = that would of been the place and time for their appearing with Him.

This is a scriptural 'no-brainer' and I love Brother Post Human.

It would of misleading for us, for God to have Moses and Elijah appearing at this moment in the Gospel for it to pertain to Acts 1.

Dwell on that...
