Are we eating too much from the tree of knowledge and not from the tree of life? By the tree of knowledge I would mainly be referring to information from outside sources, but I think that we might be abusing (for lack of a better word - 1 Tim 6:3-6) the bible as well. Jesus is the tree of life, love, grace. Love covers a multitude of sins. And for those that can't figure it out - Godly love, not the fleshly love that we have come to know in our culture.
1 Tim 6:3-6 If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,[SUP] [/SUP]and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.
