Their Definition of A Christian

Their Genuine Concern

The Danger

Application Question

Judaized Christianity
Christians are Jews who have recognized Jesus as the promised Saviour. Therefore any Gentile desiring to become a Christian MUST first become a Jew.
Having a high regard for God’s word and his choice of Jew as his people, they did NOT want to see God’s commands overlooked or broken.
Trends to add human traditions and standards to God’s Law. Also, subtracts from the scripture God’s clear concern for all nations.
DO YOU APPRECIATE GOD’S CHOICE OF A UNIQUE PEOPLE THROUGH WHICH HE OFFERED FORGIVENESS AND ETERNAL LIFE TO ALL PEOPLES?
Legalized Christianity
Christians are those who live by a long list of “donts”. God’s favour is earned by good behaviour.
Recognized that real change brought about God should lead to changes in behaviour.
Tends to make God’s love something to earn rather than to accept freely. Would reduce Christianity to a set of impossible rules and transform the Good News into BAD NEWS.
AS IMPORTANT AS CHANGE IN ACTION IS CAN YOU SEE THAT GOD MAY BE DESIRING DIFFERENT CHANGES IN YOU THAN IN OTHERS?
Lawless Christianity
Christians live above the law. They need no guidelines. God’s word is not as important as our personal sense of God’s guidance.
Recognized that forgiveness from God cannot be based on our ability to live up to his perfect standards. It must be received by faith as a gift made possible by Christ’s death on the cross.
Forgets that Christian are still human and fail consistently when trying to live only by what they ‘feel’ God wants.
DO YOU RECOGNIZE THE ONGOING NEED FOR GOD’S EXPRESSED AS YOU LIVE OUT YOUR GRATITUTE FOR HIS GREAT SALVATION?
True Christianity
Christians are those who believe inwardly and outwardly that Jesus’ death has allowed God to offer them forgiveness and eternal life as a gift. They have accepted that gift by faith and are seeking to live a life of obedience gratitude for what God has done for them.
Christianity is both private and public heart-belief and mouth-confession. Our relationship to God and the power he provides result in obedience. Having received the gift of forgiveness and eternal life, we are now daily challenged to live that life with his help.
Avoid the above dangers.
HOW WOULD THOSE CLOSES TO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CHRISTIANITY? DO THEY THINK YOU LIVE SO THAT GOD WILL ACCEPT YOU OR DO THEY KNOW THAT YOU LIVE BECAUSE GOD HAS ACCEPTED YOU IN CHRIST?

People usually tell me that I take God too seriously, whatever they mean by that? I guess you could say that they think the goals I persue are not realistic goals, but most would say I value God to an "extreme", which is one of my goals.

Sounds like you got life and know it, and everyone else is busy about the worldly things and then came the flood. I think it best to be in the arms of God and cradled, not wanting a thing to know or have gain of. this is where i like to be at. Count it all joy when others say these things but not arrogantly just politely as I know Noah was and the rest of the Saints

It is known that I am only a responder to God's finished work at the cross, and after the receptionf being forgiven before I was ever born I gained life and they can as well, some have said yes others think I am a fanatic, and others just do not care. All I know is that God has got me in his hand and I know no one can snatch me out of it

I believe that Jesus was the Christ - the son of the living God. He lived approximately 33 years, and he provided an example of how we should live. The Bible has rules in which we are to try to live buy, commandments like helping the poor, but you can't get into heaven by works alone, so one must be baptized and have faith. It's a combination of works, and a combination of faith.

I believe God has done what no law and no other man could do. he was the lamb of God slain on my behalf.

I believe my sin killed Christ.

I believe I have eternal life based on HIS work, HIS promise, HIS authority, and HIS power to fulfill his gift. And I have a full assurance (faith) in the hops of my salvation.

I believe I am in the midst of a spiritual battle between the forces of spiritual good (God) and spiritual evil (Satan) and as such, I must daily take up my cross and do whatever it takes to help God in this war. My goal is to be a light into the world and draw others to God. As such. My goal is to learn the tools of this war (scripture) Assemble myself together often with others in the body of Christ, learn from my mistakes and sin, and grow from these mistakes. Teach others what I have learned, and have them also teach me, Disciple those who need disciple'd. Sheppard those who need Shepard. And continue to run the race until the time of my redemption.
