I heard a really far out thought on the mark of the beast. First, a Rabbi said in Hebrew when the Bible refers to the antichrist, it defines him as an alternate being of some kind. That meaning something like transhuman, AI, clone or even et/demon.
So the theory is that there will be a world-wide calamity of some sort making people very susceptible. A ufo will land, with beings saying they have the answer to restoring the world back. Here's the main thing. They think these 'aliens' will offer a DNA upgrade
to all. It will make people live longer, healthier, cure cancer, and other benefits. Most people will go for this 'upgrade' but it will actually make them of an ungodly strain, as back in the day of Noah, unacceptable to God.
Naturally, anyone refusing this would be thought of as an enemy to be sorted out/spied on.
Well just another scenario to throw into the mix. With all the talk of alien/ufo/demons now, just imagine what an apostasy that would create. I would think this would be after the Rapture since hopefully no true believer would go for it. But the middle of the road ones, left behind, who wouldn't go for it would be in danger.

I have said it before and I will say it again, The non- Messianic Jewish people are waiting on a Jewish Jesus to come for the first time. The Muslims are waiting on a Jewish Jesus to return and the Christians are waiting on a Jewish Jesus to return. No one within these three religions will ever embrace a non Jewish antichrist. Which means to satisfy the beliefs of all three religion the antichrist will be of Jewish blood.
