Why would you deny the Body presence of Christ and our gathering together unto to him?
Why would you deny Jesus coming in the clouds with power and great glory and our (snatching away)?
While I agree the term (rapture) has been coined to speak of a biblical event...I don't understand why you would say what you said in the bolded above when there are numerous scriptures in context that teach of a generalized resurrection/change of the saints at the end of the age and our rewarding in the AIR while the wrath of God is being poured out upon the unbelieving world gathered under the kingdom of the beast?

The bible also says that people will say "where is the promise of his coming?"

The knowledge is not technical knowledge, but the knowledge of God's plan of salvation, the very thing we are supposed to promoting! Nobody really understood that knowledge until Jesus came and taught us. This is why the book was sealed, because it wasn't the time of Christ's 1st coming yet as revealed to Daniel, it was 490? some years later. Christ's unsealed the book/scroll and set that knowledge in motion as depicted in Revelation.

Which makes this parable completely nonsensical...
Luk 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
Luk 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Why go into a far country (heaven) to receive the Kingdom. Better yet, why return? And still better, why say "Occupy till I come", if the Kingdom was set up immediately?

Brother, I'm not trying to come across as harsh. Forgive me if I seem that way. The bible is very straight forward in many aspects. When Jesus says He turned water into wine. It was wine. When Jesus say's "In the end times they will travel to and fro and knowledge will increase" We would have to add to His meaning to suggest He was referring to the Last time as "in a couple of months when I resurrect" It goes even further off track when Paul is saying the last times are not yet, and Paul wrote that after Christs ascension, which alone destroys such theories. Yet, in the world we live in, just in our times. We have seen sodomy skyrocket (as the days of Sodom) We are seeing evil accepted as good and good accepted as evil. We have seen Israel become a nation (as a sign of the times) we HAVE seen knowledge increase to the aspect that something like every 2 years our knowledge literally doubles. We travel to and fro like never in history with airplanes. vehicles and even spaceships. The world is being set in a stage where a "new world order=one world government" really can be seen as a possibility, the key players in the battles described in the end times against Israel are currently in turmoil heading that direction, we have earthquakes in diverse places, famine and pestilence and signs in the heavens like never before. We can take it even further to something that I find interesting when Jesus said "when I return every eye shall see me" well that is interesting because the earth is a sphere. How is this possible? One simple explanation could be "technology" for the first time in History we can bring live footage from Israel to the other side of the planet.
Another thought to ponder Jesus leaves to all of us.

The bible has authority over all, is that not true? Thus I like to interpret the bible with the bible. Consider what knowledge is:
Proverbs 2:10
When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
Hosea 4:6-7

Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.

Proverbs 8:10
