If you read Hebrews carefully, you will notice that the emphasis is on believing in Jesus Christ.
It is that belief in Jesus Christ which the author is proclaiming, that is the way to enter that rest.

For we who have believed do enter that rest,...
They did not enter the rest, simply because they did not believe in Jesus Christ.
The Hebrews were falling away from trusting in Jesus.

You skipped over the entire point of the post:
Heb 3:17-19
Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Picking up our own cross is Obeying Him to be in His Righteousness on The Cross. Do you want Represented when CHRIST was Forsaken or not?

If you think you're sinless, wait until a time comes when you go through an excruciatingly, difficult time. There may not be much left in the toothpaste tube, but if it's squeezed hard enough and long enough, "toothpaste" comes out. I wish it wasn't like that, I don't want it to be like that, but it is!
