God won, Jesus our messiah is risen is perfect for us to be by his den work to us, to beleive it and not be boastful over it and to walk away from under Law that tells us we need a savior, since we can't do law perfectly ever, I assuredly never have, and see that the Law under it has ended
Galatians 3:19-26, Hebrews 10:10. John 19:30, Hebrews 9:14-17 Amazing

We have to be very careful to NOT be in our flesh and make the same judgements that the brother made towards his brother and father when the prodigal son came home in humility and received His Father’s Mercy and Restoration to Sonhood….:love:

It’s life changing to read God’s Word through His eyes of Love.
Very true, and more than that, and who the parable was actually focused on, was the older son, and his judgement towards the younger son. While we always seem to relate with wasteful son than ended up in the troth with the pigs who the father forgives, Jesus was telling this in a place where the Pharisees were looking down their noses at Him and His disciples in judgement. The parable of the prodigal was aimed at them, and while the younger and ridiculously sinful one did get forgiveness from His father, it never mentions if the older son ever does, on purpose. So I'm not sure this was completely about "sonhood" because the older son may not have made it, it never mentions if he ever humbles himself. Just like the Pharisees there listening.

If caps and font size were to represent tone and volume. It seems as though a lot of this is screaming. Honey will attract more than vinegar. Remember everyone here has different levels of understanding and scriptural education, when you speak to others, keep galatians 5:22-26 in mind.
Lol will do

Those pharisees ( not fair you see) were, very self-righteous as in Luke 18:9-14 talks of the two that went to the Temple, one justified the other not. I do hope for all, as I see from Peter God hopes for not one person to perish. Thus being the reason it is not all done yet. waiting for all to be under Son's feet according to Hebrews 1
Amazing grace given us to appreciate and be humbled in for me at least
I mean this jealousy, of the religious leaders then got Jesus put on that cross that turned out to be good for us the people to be made new in love and mercy as given us to start with. given now to all, being aware of those that are wanting it for thier own self gain, includes our self. As is why I see Phil 3 to be aware of
Thanks for this information seeing a different view, which those there in charge as Levites took offense to this truth given them. They plotted then to kill Jesus, to get rid of him. only to see him risen as in Col 2 tells us about this truth. Wow, woe is me

“and be humbled in for me at least”

“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God.

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Grace teaches us to act right it comes from scripture like you just read when we believe it

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;( Gods grace teaches us to repent and act right )

looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭2:11-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We’re supposed to be changing to people who want to act right , so we need to talk about how we’re supposed to act right like they all taught that’s part of Gods grace teaching us with patience his ways and to follow him and live

When our argument is always “ we dont need to do anything “ it works against the message in the Bible teaching us “ This is what you need to do and I’m giving you the power to do it.”and a willingness to commit to good and resist evil

“This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We should allow for people to learn what the bible taught believers to do as well as celebrate “ amazing grace “

gods grace is powerful and effective to change a person through faith but need to listen to him for it to happen

Pilgrimshope said:
when you say this

“I love how God’s Mercy triumphs over His Judgment. God greatly desires to save us from our sins and clean us up… what a wonderful Papa God! ”

“So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s referring to this law of freedom

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven……with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;

Jesus shedding his blood is why he can give us this law of mercy for the merciful . Which means our judgement will be merciful wheras if we refuse to be merciful to others then we also can expect this judgement without mercy for our deeds

because all of us have sinned Jesus came to give us a word that we can live by

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s a law governed not by sinlessness but they are all already a sinners we are or we’re all sinners . So in order to save those already guilty of sin you can’t have a death sentance for each sin like the law . You have to govern sinners with a law created from Mercy and grace.

Mercy has triumphed over judgement but we have to receive it as he’s given he said to hear and believe him and we would be saved and it’s also true that he shed his blood those two things go together the word spoken by God and then the bloodshed makes the covenant the word spoken to the people and blood shed for the people who accept the covenant word

:) Just offering my perspective, here, but... consider that many on this Discussion Board avail ourselves of the "Tools" provided at this "Christian" website, that are provided for the purpose of adding "emphasis" in our posts (bold, color, italics, underline, caps, font-size, etc)... not necessarily intended to convey a "negative TONE" implying "shouting [/screaming]" or negative antagonism toward another.

Being a "Christian" website, it wouldn't make sense that they've provided these tools (esp. the caps and font size you reference in particular) SO THAT (when making use of those) we'd be "sinning" (against others). We should always endeavor to put the best possible spin on (what we think are) the "motives / driving force" of another (for, as we know, "Love believes all things"), and not automatically assign bad motives onto a poster.

I personally did not perceive Pilgrimshope's post to be coming across as "negatively antagonistic" toward the other member.

I've always found Pilgrimshope to be a gentleman, even when disagreeing with me or other posters. It seems this way, as well (at least from my perspective), in this present discussion (the particular post of his being referred to, here). But, I've been here awhile and have gotten to know many of the members... so this may be why.

Just my two cents. :)

I wouldn't say that mercy trumps judgement. Because mercy can't rob justice. But there definitely is a perfect balance where through the atonement of Christ mercy is given while he pays the demands of justice. As we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, through the blood of Christ though our robes may be as scarlet they are washed clean through the blood of the lamb. (I know I'm blending verses but they tie together).
Ever ponder why God is so longsuffering….

He’s showing Mercy…. and even when He passes Judgement, His Mercy is still available to us if we humble ourselves and repent.

It’s when God pours out His Wrath that there is NO MERCY available anymore…. end of the line.

The Israelites carried the Ark of the Covenant with the lid that was called the Mercy seat. Jordan means “Judgment.”

God’s Mercy Seat parted the waters of Judgment and the Israelites crossed over to the Promised Land with God’s Mercy.
