And yet your recent post (rant as you said) on another thread was so helpful to me. Though I can relate to how you're feeling at the moment (BELIEVE me, I can relate) Please allow Jesus and His love for you lift you out of that 'useles' thinking, as it's just not true. Jesus loves you, and for what it's worth, so do I...and magenta and Lynn and dcontrovers and violet and .................:)
(Ack! I knew I couldn't only post once on this, if I kept coming back. Silence is not a virtue in me. lol)

You too are already doing what God wants from you. You keep waiting without noticing you're already doing. Knock that off, will ya? (The waiting part. Not the doing part. lol)

Oops, lol, Thanks, Lynn, ONE post, I forgot already. (I like the 'ACK', that was good :) ) Jesus, thank you, please bless my sisters here, they have my heart smiling, and you know that doesn't come easy for me, especially of late, so Thank you Jesus, and all for your kindness. I didn't know I was waiting... I thought it was more, like,......yearning.....or pining, (like for the fiords) (nevermind) Anyway, sorry to stevej, I guess my answer to OP was 'with man, and at least one woman, this is impossible' (OnePost) :) I promise not to post here again (until next time) JustKidding! (With God, ALL things are possible!)

Like Jesus whom I follow, I want to be a light shining in the darkness.

79 "to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:79

I try to be a minister of reconcilation.

"
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." 2 Cor. 5:17-20

My heart is to love others as Christ loves us!

"
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him would not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"
We love because he first loved us.
20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother." 1 John 4:19-21

Currently, I am preaching and teaching in my church. I am playing in several worship bands, to glorify God. My prayer is to get back into volunteering in long term care, when my health finally improves, and I can walk. Or maybe get an electric scooter?

Is it possible for anyone who wants to join in the thread can make one post only on what they think God called them to do and leave it?
And if you dont agree with someone dont bother telling us what is wrong. Just use you post to tell us what God called you to do. Can we have a thread with nothing but our love for Christ in it.
Take as much as you need to say what you like then dont post again. Same goes for me.

I believe that I am called to die to self.
Put God first
Put my neighbour before me, which is easy as I am dead.
If someone hurts me its only because I never done what God called me to do. Die to self.
Its easy to stop getting hurt Just die to self.
God never called me to voice my opinions over yours.
I am called to preach the good news not bad news.
I am to lay hands on the sick and get them up.
I am to set the captives free.
I went astray early in life. I sometimes wonder what the Lord would have done with me had I not gone astray. At this stage in my life I sing in the church choir and visit seniors.

I can certainly relate.
I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!

Apart from Christ, we're all nobodies (no bodies) in that we wouldn't be a part of the body of Christ. Even though I do belong to Him, I'm still unsure as to what exactly I should be doing with my life. I know the general answer to this question, but not the specific one and this is why I'm constantly praying before the Lord for direction. I'm seriously questioning as to whether or not I should even remain on this forum. I just want to obey the Lord; whatever that entails.

If you are part of a church community maybe someone there could help you discover and use your gifts?

If I inquire of 5 people, then I inevitably get 5 different answers and that is why I'm constantly praying before the Lord. I'm not saying that there won't be human confirmation, but I ultimately need to know what God wants me to do. Right now, I'm pretty much in a holding pattern while I wait upon the Lord for direction.

Most all replies seem to address our corporate christlikeness as opposed to personal calling. But maybe that was the intention?

So to be like Christ if were all agreed is to act like Christ.

So what is it that Christ did that we should do here and now. Try and keep it to one post each have your say and your done.
Most of the replys did not really touch the truth. Even though there all correct.

Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. *Jesus* +Jn.15:13+

Exactly. Each member has a specific calling.
The 5 fold ministry is outlined as diverse and specific offices we are to fill.
It even says "........training for the work of the ministry....."

So,to say we are called to be a light,or a witness,or to be like Jesus,is a gimme. Of course that is every one's corporate calling.

having said that, one must discover their unique gifting in order to fulfil their calling/office/place in the body.

I believe mine is in the realm of healing, individual counsel, worship overseer, prophetic, and possibly pastoral.

Seems most responders missed the main current of what was asked for.(I dunno)

That´s ONE ministry Eph 4:11 bypassed to mention of

I think GOD has multiple forms of ministries and ways, more than those Paulinisms.

Where did you read that?
And its four fold not five. The last two are one.

So what are you saying? This is like pulling teeth.
Perhaps you should calm down a bit and show some Christlikeness yourself. The implication is that we, like Christ, ought to lay down our lives for others. If you weren't in such a rush to be difficult, then maybe you'd better understand what people are saying and implying.
