I have no gift for witnessing or preaching to others. I have tried several times now with no visible success.

A close friend of mine has a lot of hostility towards God. His argument is the common question, how can God allow an infant to be abused and die? How can He not intervene when a child is killed by a drunk driver? Why does God not stop a person from getting killed by an aggressive animal?

I tell him there is evil in the world because we chose to live without God, but this life is temporary and the perfect place he desires is promised to us who have faith enough to believe in Him.

But my friend cannot see past this life on earth. A specific question he asks that I have no answer for is why should someone who has not yet sinned suffer and die for no reason.

I am not good with words, and I am afraid nothing that anyone says will change my friend's mind but I must try again because this is his eternity at risk. What would you say?
