Hi, Skylove! "We have depended on God's grace, not in our human wisdom." I believe Paul was affirming there was no internet back then.

You read to the end of chapter 1, it looks like Paul was accused of neglecting Corinth, some believe he may have been badmouthed by a detractor at Corinth. Paul pointed out other things he had been doing of the Lord, so it seems there may have been worldly wisdom slandering his sincerity at Corinth, Paul pointing out he was being led of God, that things changed in his journeys, but no less mindful of Corinth, for other matters of God's work at hand. I sort of take from it that worldly wisdom may say, "Paul should have visited! He slighted us. He doesn't care." Godly wisdom would say, "Paul is about God's work, wherever he is, not to complain. More towns than Corinth."

And, yes, you're really digging, there, in any case.

You be welcome. I had to look at that again, one of those situations where Paul had a complaint to tend to with whiny Corinth. It probably also goes back to best made plans that fell through, 1 Corinthians 16:5-7 But I will come to you after I go through Macedonia, for I am going through Macedonia; and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I may go. For I do not wish to see you now just in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, if the Lord permits. Apparently the Lord did not permit, and Corinth couldn't see this as any excuse.
