What if Christ had not gone to the cross, what would we be and what would we do?

Good answer, but those sacrifices mean nothing without the cross. What I;m getting at is that churches no longer preach nor teach the cross and have no need of it.

If Christ had not gone to the cross we would still be in sin and every body would be bound for the lake of fire!

Let me ask you this:

If Jesus did not come down off the cross, then why do sons and daughters of God always come down off theirs!?!?

Jesus came off the cross dead and laid in a tomb for three days then rose up again. I don't know what your getting at. But we take up our cross daily. Again please explain.

So Jesus' destiny was the cross...yes? What would have happened if before he died Jesus decided to come down off the cross and tell the Father he could not go through with it?

Taking up your cross up daily is not about daily crucifying your flesh...it is about fulfilling your divine destiny.....

A pastor's cross is his pulpit and church and if he comes down off that cross many people will suffer...so I will ask again: If Jesus did not come down off the cross, then why do sons and daughters of God always come down off theirs!?!?

We would be toast as he did have that option.

As for the second part, I'm still confused as to what your point is.

Everyone has been given a call or divine destiny that God wants them to fulfill, so if Jesus finsihed his destiny why don't we see sons and daughters of God finishing theirs....

Rom 6:3-10
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,
knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
for he who has died is freed from sin.

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

Gal 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

With respect to the OP, this question need not be asked. It's rhetorical; "if" is not part of the equation.

As Jesus said on the Cross, "It is complete." Not only is the glass half full -- it's overflowing! :)

Either God would not have created us, or we would all burn in hell forever.

It's not the cross that saves us, so why should it be given any glory?

Simply put, Christianity as we know it probably would not exist, if at all. Which means Judaism would have a greater reach in the world, potentially Islam as well. But in reality, atheism would probably be much more widespread. The Roman Empire would have not adopted Christianity obviously, and would have most likely kept its polytheistic religion. This kind of belief system, like Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythology has long since been acknowledged as false by the global community. Christianity spread through the Roman empire across Europe to the New World, So I would honestly think that if Christianity never was, then atheism would have gained the most.

That's only up to God to decide our path........
Do you know your destiny?

God knew the end from the beginning.
His master plan was already well thought out before He created us.
He knew that Jesus would save us, and there was no other way other than through faith.
