2 Timothy 1:7

[SUP] [/SUP]For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Hi wall,
The spirit has testified to me that I am saved. I am in the Lambs book of life. I am an heir to the thrown. I am a resident of heaven and an alien to this world!

Hebrews 11:6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Romans 10:7 Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Stay in the word renewing your mind, keep seeking Christ face and walking in faith. Rest in the assurance that God is the author of your faith. Examine yourself to see that you are in the faith. How has God changed you? Dont allow yourself to doubt. That is only the prince of lies coming to make you miserable. Put on the full armor .

Blessings

God is truth, if you search for Him with all your heart you WILL find Him. God does not lie. He says seek and you WILL find, knock, and the door WILL be opened unto YOU.

It is simple- just make sure your worship matches what the New Testament teaches. Why the New Testament? Because ALL authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Christ (Matthew 28:18). That leaves no authority for Moses, or Elijah, or anyone- unless Christ tells them to- like He told the apostles to write down what He told them to (which is the New Testament).

If you have questions you can pm me. You don't have to take my word for it, I can show you the verses that answer your questions, and you can take His Word for it. He who seeks finds, I will help you if you are willing to search for truth.

Fall in love with him. Devour his word. Don't just read ,pray ,sing....Instead,get lost in his presence, linger in his word, love it's melody and beckoning of your being. Worship and adore him, romance him in worship.[video=youtube;yQyn7BuA19I]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQyn7BuA19I[/video]

John 3:17-18 KJVS
[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

It is Jesus who saves because of His perfect righteousness and death/resurrection...not our righteousness. Place your faith in Jesus...not in you.

Remember that there is one needful thing.

Luke 10:38-42Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Deuteronomy 6:3-5Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

If you want to follow Jesus (solitude in wilderness 40 days and 40 nights after baptism), His followers who walked with Him in the earthen vessels (wait for the promise of the Father), or Paul the apostle (fasted from sight, food, and drink)...they all waited for the Lord...separate.
2 Corinthians 6:16-18Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

16 and what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Chronicles 7:13-15Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

Hi,

Job 6:8 Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

We are of the same boat, we are deceived. O that God would grant your desire to look forward to the kingdom. Your desire which dictates your heart will be heard just like Cornelius. A devout man yet deceived by what he know.

Acts 10:1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

God bless

The problem is that you think that your works (lawkeeping) earn, merit or continue your salvation. If you are honest with yourself, you wil realize that you will never measure up, and you will dwell in self-condemnation.

The function of the Law is to condemn you. Read II Corinthians 3 with this in mind. The Law serves a ministry of condemnation. You should feel condemned by your inability to keep it, and that should lead you to Christ, because then you realize your need for God's grace, or unmerited pardon, due to your sin. Read Galatians 3 in regards to this too.

The key to your problem is understanding the phrase "justification by faith alone". We are justified, or placed into right standing with God, by faith alone. Our works are a product of our salvation, but they do not cause or continue our salvation.

If your focus is on your works, rather than what Jesus did on the cross, you will dwell in self-condemnation because every person who is honest with themselves will realize that they fall short of God's righteous standards.

Salvation is called the Great Exchange. Jesus takes all of our sins, and places them on his shoulder. He gives us the free gift of his righteousness.

The righteousness that is by faith, and not by law, is this free gift, that is given to us when we are saved. We cannot earn or merit it.

Read the entire book of Romans with this in mind. Romans is the book on salvation. The phrase "righteousness of God" refers to this righteousness which is a free gift from God. Read Romans 5 in particular and count the number of times that it says gift.

Romans 1: [SUP]17 [/SUP]For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[SUP][e][/SUP] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[SUP][
[/SUP]

In addition, there are good books on this topic. One is by James White, and it is called The God Who Justifies.

Robot Check

You may not particularly like me due to my strong approach toward Sabbath/festival/clean unclean meat guys, but I have been through this same process. You need to get to the point where you realize that the Law condemns you, and shows you your need for Christ, so that you can place your full faith in Jesus Christ and his perfect sacrifice on your behalf. God then credits you with the merits of Christ's perfect life. He views you from that point forward as if you are perfectly obedient, like Jesus Christ was.

If you want materials on this, google "imputed righteousness", "forensic righteousness", "salvation by faith alone", "justification by faith alone". You should find good materials that give you Bible verses to read so you know the Scriptural underpinnings related to these concepts. I could also find some sermons if you want to listen to them.

If being perfect, having all the right answers and right about God is what your life depends on. We are ALL in big trouble. Nobody is good enough, has all the answers and has God all figured out. That's where Jesus comes in. The saviour of all mankind. Rest in him. He is big enough to cope with your doubts and questions.

Wall, do you remember the point of your salvation? Because you are concerned and asking questions, that's not a bad thing. Would to God everyone would show that level of concern.

Start there. When were you saved? When God invaded your world with His loving call.

A few people have given you some good answers already.........

Listening to the Holy Spirit and where He guides you, and lean not on your own understanding.

Remember a personal intimate relationship with the Lord is what we need to seek to have, as head knowledge of Him does not save.

Fellowship two fellows in the same ship. Fellowship with Christ and there is no fear of the ship sinking.

Jesus said He would not leave us comfortless. He sent the Comforter to guide us into the truth. The word of God is truth and it is the word of God through which we are sanctified.

For the cause of Christ

Someone posted what i wrote in my bio that i wrote i was saved at birth. Didnt everyone here know there was a God when they were very young. I can never remember a time when i did not believe. Maybe thats why i wrote that. Didnt study about it till recently. Maybe you can answer me a question

ROMANS 8 [24] For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?[25] But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Can you name a certain day you were saved? If so....what do hope for?

We can fall on our feet and pray to God, to show us the way..to lead us to him..to hold our hands and take us to his kingdom.....
We can ask for his GRACE, which TEACHES US to be godly...

Titus 2:11-12 "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world

[SUP]"[/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:21-23).

I think its talking about talker, not doers of the word (hypocrites). Also those who purposely use the word of God to benefit themselves; "Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)" (Philippians 3:17-20)

"For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple" (Romans 16:18).

Just be careful not to believe a lie (2 Peter 2). Not everyone who professes Christ is earnest. We all fall short, but as long as we're following the right example (Christ), we can't go wrong. jmo

Believers typically can identify the approximate, if not exact, date that they were saved because they had a personal experience with God where they became aware of their sins, and asked forgiveness for them, and the application of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to them for forgiveness.

I know it occurred for me in June 1985.

With some younger people, they may not have remembered the exact moment, and it was a more gentle, less abrupt process, but if someone says they were saved since birth, it could mean they were never "born again" and haven't experienced this transforming event. That is probably why the individual made note of this.
