After walking towards the light for 5 years, on 1/1/2017 I was baptised to Christianity in the name GOD (our father in heaven), his son Jesus Christ, and his Holy Spirit, knowing full well the sacrifices I had just committed too: I had agreed to put GOD first, above all that I held dear in this world, wife, children, myself, boss...etc. I agreed not to make objects then worship them, or to idolise any person, nor a institute, or doctrines not inspired by the Holy Spirit, I also said I would not speak about GOD in negative terms & dis-honour him, I vowed to keep GOD's Sabbath and to respect and honour not only my parents, but my fellow man (all GOD's creation's). I say I will not take a life, I also cannot restrict or degrade one, I have chosen not to live a life controlled by sexual lust or desires for woman, who I'm not romantically connected with. I pledge not to take anything that does not belong to me, physically, mentally or spiritually. I try to maintain a life built on truth and honesty where ever I am, and finally I abstain from thinking about the wealth and fortune's of others and wishing them to be mine.....
All this I promised to GOD, when I died to self, (baptism underwater) & arose in Christ, (born again).
While walking this path of righteousness, I come to understand how much, Love, Peace and Harmony, should mean to us who are walking to GOD... LOVE is our foundation, PEACE should reign in our life, HARMONY with everything outside it.

WHAT is a CHRISTIAN ?
Someone who loves Jesus.

Matthew
22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Anyone can come to Jesus and be born again today. Right here. Right now. Jesus did all the heavy lifting at Calvary.

a Christian is a term that came about for the first time here and it means a disciple of Jesus Christ

“And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s what people call Jesus disciples on the earth.

yes I understand what the term means, ...what I was trying to achieve is....if I was an atheist, how could all you Christians, describe your walk to me, ...if you told me all I had to do was believe in Christ, accept him into my life, and I am saved forever, I would be very skeptical, and reading how people attack each other on a Christian chat site, isn't very convincing.

Maintaining one's fidelity in a marriage relationship should not feel like, or be, "work". We must always be desirous to return to our first love when we stumble.

Those who would be followers of Jesus need to leave their skepticism on the alter of sacrifice and receive Him by faith. One cannot use other men as an excuse to reject the Blood of the Father's dear Son. Once you have spoken the truth to them, you must leave it in the Lord's hands.

once we have left our skepticism on the alter of sacrifice, and received him by faith, then what? how do we keep that faith, how do others see that faith in us, what else do we need to do?.....or else this would be the easiest religion to adhere to, just admit you believe, say you have faith, presto we are saved for all eternity.....REALLY ???

according to a few on here, if you worship GOD alone, honour your mother and father, stop yourself, from murdering, committing adultery, lying or stealing, you are guilty of WORK's, which cannot save you. Come on my brother's and sister's in Christ, we are to be of one MIND, one TRUTH, and one CALLING....there is only ONE way, and we must be UNIFIED in it.

Do you not think the precious blood of God's own Son sufficient to cleanse you from all sin and present you faultless before the Father? That is the thing we must place our faith in. No rituals, no works, only faith in the Blood of Jesus.

Hebrews
10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all].
10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
10:15 [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
10:16 This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
10:18 Now where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for sin.

say you have faith,
The just shall live by faith in the shed blood of Jesus.

The Bible says that when we yield ourselves fully to Him, He will put a new heart within us and make us new creatures. It is when we believe it that we can receive it.

Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

All else is to be a natural outgrowth of this. That is the will of the Father. All glory be to His Son.

We saved because of Gods grace and not our doing. So we cant earn the heaven with our deeds. On the other side our deeds are an expression of our faith/ our Belonging to Christ.
But, we have also to recognize that we are not able to live a sinnless life here on earth. And you find this sadly expressed also in Christian Chatrooms
So finaly it is only Gods grace who saves us.
Word of God clear says how we can recognized from the world that we are Christians: If we love each other.

Thank you oyster67, ...if you hadn't sent me this, although I have read the book of Hebrews many years ago, you have made me read the whole chapter of Hebrews 10 again, and it just confirms everything iv'e been trying to express, especially verse 24:
And let us consider one another to provoke unto Love and to good WORK's.
...and from verse 31.
But we must see and read the Bible as a whole, and apply it in the same way

WHAT is a CHRISTIAN ?
A Christian is one who realizes their utter inability to be "good enough" to satisfy God's standard of righteousness. A Christian is one who believes Christ died for our sins and was raised for our justification.

"That is why his faith was 'counted to him as righteousness.' But the words 'it was counted to him' were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification."—Romans 4:22-25

yes we receive a new heart and new spirit, so if we are cynical before we found the Lord, we stop being cynical when we do...
if we are condescending or judgemental, angry or abusive, and coerce or manipulate, All this is meant to change when we walk with the Lord, ultimately you should STOP these behaviours
