I am interested in what believers think of iniquity. It is mentioned over (325) times in the scriptures. It is different from sin and transgressions? Does iniquity relate to that which is evil? What does iniquity relate to and what is the mystery of iniquity that now is working in the world system in which we live (2Thes 2:7)?

What does it mean in the context of (Rom 4:7)...

Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

and in (Acts 3:26)...

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

and in (Jm 3:6)...

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

and in (Ps 51:5)...

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

and in (Heb 1:9)...

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

and in (2Tim 2:19)...

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

based on what the online etymology dictionary says, the word has its roots in malevolence; a hostile action but later refers to injustice (against others). Later in the 1300's it came to be wickedness and and evil. So it has a strong sense of acting wickedly against others, stronger than what we assume personal sin means.

Iniquity is wickedness/lawlessness and the unrighteous who commit iniquity will not inherit the kingdom of God. It's really sad.. We need to raise up and wake up these souls in the name of Jesus, our Lord! The one and only Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Yeshua, our God and Savior, show them the truth, pray that the Lord will save these souls. That he will call out his people from this lie, this delusion, this fantasy land, that he will awaken his people to the truth.

Jesus commanded us to be just. I see iniquity as injustice. It would be a sin.

iniquity - absence of moral or spiritual values; "the powers of darkness"
