I am curious what you think Satan is trying to accomplish. This is sort of how I look at it:

Satan wants us to worship him. Towards that end, he tempts people in to prideful behavior and attempts to trick the rest of us into putting these people into leadership positions in our various governmental, church, and other organizations. When he succeeds, he causes these leaders to make us all miserable until we kiss their feet. In other words, if there is something you need from this leader, you will not get it without kissing their feet. The trick, of course, is to prevent Satan from tricking us into putting the wrong people into leadership roles.

Do I have an overactive imagination?

I don't think that Satan thnks he can win. I think that he hates God and will do everything that he can to hurt God. I think that the "best" way to do that is to take as many down with him as he can.

Satan does his job very well. He has put in peoples hearts to say almost all the things in the bible are not real in these days.
I don't think satan had to put much effort at all into whispering in peoples ears don't give any of your money to help the poor. Keep all the money for yourself. Many selfish people just said ok I'll be selfish.

satan is definitely good at whispering and doing other tricks

so, I guess this is the thread to ask this: Can satan place images in your head? I think he does with me sometimes... - I know I have a vivid imagination, but the only times I'm scared is when it feels like there is eevil around (like demons). But I only get theese feelings at night, so I often pass them off as just beeing my imagination after all. The more I try to think about it the more confused I get...

I am not aware that Satan has any power over us. He is a tempter (Matt 4:3) and he is very subtle (Gen 3:1), as I understand it. I don’t think he can actually do anything to us, though. I’d say just ignore him. I doubt if he puts images into our heads.

I once had a beer-drinking habit. I promised the Lord one evening that I would have “only” five beers, but I drank six. That night I woke up and seemed to have demons right there in the room with me. I haven’t had a drink since.

I'm pretty sure Satan can do stuff to us. Did he not tortue Job?

yea, that is kinda part of what I am wondering... how much power is the devil allowed?...
I know he cannot possess me, but it does feel like he can...afect me more than just "whispering"

I know God gave job into the mercy of the devil, as long as he was not killed. But does He normally do that to people?

most of us in here are intrigued with the posts concerning
RAPTURE = PRE-TRIB / MID-TRIB.......
SALVATION = ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED vs GRACE DOES NOT COVER SELF WILLING SINS.......
SATAN
is not worried about those who are not saved
BUT
rather he drives the wall between US
who we all feel to some degree we understand SCRIPTURE
and our points of view seem sound compared to the dillusional ideas
others seem to come up with

IM
WILLING to go on RECORD
that
if we as followers of GOD are concerned with certain issues
ITS POSSIBLY
DUE
to the FACT
that SATAN has a clue and he is tearing us apart
WHICH
fulfills scripture
MATTHEW 24:24...For there shall arise false CHRISTS, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the VERY ELECT.

MARK 13:22...For false CHRISTS and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders,
to seduce, if it were possible, even the ELECT.

IM not saying SATAN knows anything
BUT
HE understands
when the outpouring of GOD is abundant
EVEN he knows something is about to happen.......
AND
AFTER the fact he has been here SINCE before Adam
HE (SATAN) knows the BIBLE better than ALL OF US and can put together
WHAT is really going on..........

Not a nerd game, a very dangerous game which can cause quite a bit of damage to a person's spirituality and involves demonic activity.

Either way, it can still be demonic activity and a nerd game. Around here if you play it, you also belong to the chess team.

I've played D&D for 10 years and have yet to see any damaged spirituality or demonic activity.

A lot of things happened in those 10 years besides D&D, and the time I was playing D&D were the best memories I have with my friends.
