You are one of the rare people here who accept the Gospel as it is. Most twist it to the point that it ends up being something completely different than the one the Bible describes.

Yes, most men twist the gospel and make it say it is all about how other men are sinners...BECAUSE it is highly offensive to their sense of self-importance.

So you are still making yourself to be better than other men.

Do you understand that the gospel is not meant to compare you to other men but is meant to pierce into your own heart and read the thoughts and intents of your own heart.

You have singlehandedly convinced me of what the op has said - that most men don't know what the gospel is and that it is all of the words that Jesus spoke...

I'm sure you can find step by step instructions if you google the question. You will probably be disappointed with the small number of hits you would get as most folks avoid the Gospel like the plague.

Even most professing Christians find the Gospel highly offensive, they have no problem accepting the loving Jesus who gave His life for sinners but they don't like the one who is coming back to judge the world and send many into hell.

Is it possible to hear the Word and not do it(obey it)? There is a parable of the Sower and the Seed which states the seed is the Word of God but it falls on different kinds of soils(hearts). Is it possible that the Word of God as it is spoken is received by those of different soils(hearts). The soil(heart) that was commended was the good soil. (Matt.13)

Everyone who lives and believes in Me will live, even though they die.
All authority in heaven and in Earth has been given unto Me.

The gospel, simple, according to Messiah!!!!
