Obviously by being/remaining IGNORANT of what the Bible says about "Tongues".
1Cor.14:20-22
20 Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature. 21 In the law it is written:

“With men of other tongues and other lips
I will speak to this people;
And yet, for all that, they will not hear Me,”
says the Lord.

22 Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers;

I'm not the ignorant one here. :)

I dare say it is a slap in the face to you but prove me wrong. Record an instance of tongues and your interpretation and run it through Google translate.

Peter tells us that Paul had a problem with such as these....

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters.
His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant
and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."
2 Peter 3:16

Sad to say. Peter says they are going to be amongst us.
It appears there are those who just don't like to reason. I don't like maths but putting two and two together is the exception. ;) :)

Biblical ignorance on display. your answer is 1 Cor 14.

13 For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may
interpret what they say. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind
is unfruitful.
15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding;
I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. 16 Otherwise when
you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position
of an inquirer, say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying?
17 You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified.
18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. 19 But in the church I would
rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

In other words?

The defense of tongues?... even when it was valid?

Was much ado about NOTHING.

Angels watch and see the denials of men.

It causes them to reflect back to the time when certain stubborn angels were choosing for Satan and denying the obvious.

You keep using the word perfect in the wrong sense. Were the scriptures complete in the 8th century bc or did the Lord still have more to say?

Out of context? The Isaiah passage is what Paul is quoting in 1Cor.14. :ROFL:

The context of 1Cor.13 is to the believer regarding prophecy, tongues and knowledge. You think we will stop growing in our knowledge of the Lord at the Resurrection? We will never stop plumbing the depths of His riches in glory. The difference is we won't be going to a book to know His will, we will be able to ask Him anything face to face. So, no more back and forth discussion like this.

The context of Complte is not the Canonization that is assumed. Paul established maturity in Chapters 12 and 13 and continued in Chapter 14. Therefore, the Perfect or Complete context is done in Chapter 14.
Don't result to Buffoory Yes, Paul said it but Is 28:11 is not saying Tongues is not for today.

NO 1cor 13 is to the church about Love being the motivation of the gifts being used. It is known as the Love Chapter, not the ending of The Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Do you really not know the Biblical Context of God's Revelation to the believer?

1. General = by His Creation Romans chapter 1
2. Special = His word Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 and 2,
3. Illumination by the Holy Spirit John chapters 14 and 15 and some of 16.

I don't go to a book only to know HIS will. We are to Model the life of Christ in us. The word of God is Alive. And So is the Spirit of God.

As you think so you are. So you model yourself on your perception of your inner self? I'll stick to what is written thanks that way I'll know if the Christ in me is the real One. ;)

The word of God truly is alive, as I like to say, the Bible is the only book that reads me as I read it.

Have a nice day.

I did not say that. But you are blinded by your bias. And very arrogant.

You and every person born of women received the Revelation of God only in the way HE provided it.

His word, His Spirit, and in the things he made. why? Because we are limited, FYI Incomplete.
WE receive enough from God for appropriate worship and righteous living.

Jesus said which I know you think you are more authoritative than he, in John 14:16-17

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you forever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

With you forever !!!!

.

That's Isa 28, and isn't about the GIFT of tongues at all - it refers to the Assyrian language.
Rom 8:28 is also not about "Tongues", since there's no utterance.
No! Its a quote from Isaiah that involved Assyrians at the time Isaiah gave his prophesy.

Guess what? The Assyrians were no longer a people when Paul cited Isaiah.

That's two strikes against you....

Unimportant. Isa 28 has nothing to do with the "Gift of tongues"

Then I guess you're perfectly right to say whatever you think about someone as long as you don't say they are lost eternally. :rolleyes:
what is judging them if it doesn't involve that? Do you need a safe space? are you ultra sensitive. Or you can't take what you dish out ? Please let me know
