... of the new creature God is currently forming in Christ?

And, would you agree God began forming the new creature after the conversion of the apostle Paul? Why or why not...

Lets hold theology to the measure and watch it crumble for the honest of heart. The doctrine of men cannot defend itself against the doctrine of God in honesty and truth. The new creature was not being formed before the dispensation of the grace of God.

God has a purpose for the new creature, what is it?

Yes we are. This doctrine has meaning, it is important to understand our identity so we can do the will of God in our lives. What does it mean to be an ambassador of the ministry of reconciliation? What is the purpose of the new creature God is currently forming?

I won't be up much longer, ttyl.

I expect there is a 50/50 chance this thread may go south, but I am hoping it sees some attempts of scriptural dialogue. Go ahead Simiel, what is the purpose of the new creature and would you agree the new creature began to be formed by God in Christ after the apostle Paul's conversion? I say yes and the purpose has to do with dominion.

The new creation is to restore us back to God's image. As if we never ate the fruit in the Garden and to walk in the fullness of Christ. To live out of the spirit ant not the flesh... But this is only possibly by renewing the mind your new creation..

I believe everybody is suppose to walk as Christ preaching the kingdom is near and healing all.. God didn't put a lake in our belly, He put a river :)

Thank you for your response. Many people believe something similar to what you have stated in the portion of your quote I reposted. I used to take it as my belief & understanding, by default, in that it is commonly spoken as a truth. Why do you believe that? Is there Scripture to support the theological thought the new creature is being "restored back to the image the first Adam was created in"?

Actually, Scripture does state, the new creature will be transformed into an image likened unto Christ's glorious body & immortal. The resurrected Lord was raised in a body that functioned is a special way and He also referred to it as "flesh & bone"... but, He also stated He had yet to ascend to His Father. He was yet to be recieved into glory, yet to consummate "glorification". When Christ appeared to the apostle Paul on the road to Damascus, the glorified body of the Lord, the brightness of it, blinded Paul.

The term "new creature" is significant and unique to the doctrine of our apostle and there are plenty of words & terms surrounding the life, image, the workmanship and purpose encompassed in the new man in Christ. Study by the method of right division helps us to see what God is doing and who we are in His plan. There are many members in the body, who have different elections to places of inheritance. The household of God has a structure after an ordering of sorts " Man, woman, child, servant or Husband, wife, children, servant" and so on. Harmony in division happens when people know the order of creation & identity of function.

Though 'justification' speaks to the forensic side of our relationship with God, the 'new nature/new birth' speaks to the organic relationship that goes on within.
I have not seen enough evidence for or against the notion that first testament believers received the new birth...at least as we do today. What do you say?

We are a new creation in Christ because the old creation was a rotting corpse from a spiritual perspective. We are newly formed in the righteousness of Christ having been deformed by the unrighteousness of our sin.

God has a purpose for the new creature, what is it?
To have the power to walk in al his commandments
we cant do it with our own power.
to be his ambassadors of love to the universe.

.

(Psa 26:11 KJV) But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

(Psa 78:10 KJV) They kept not the ten commandments of God, and refused to walk in his law;

(Psa 84:11 KJV) For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

(Psa 86:11 KJV) Teach me thy way, O LORD;
I will walk in thy truth:unite my heart to fear thy name.

(Psa 89:30 KJV) If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;

(Psa 101:2 KJV) I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way.
O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

(Psa 119:1 KJV) ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
(Psa 119:3 KJV) They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

(Psa 119:45 KJV) And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy ten commandments.

(Psa 143:8 KJV) Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

(edit post, this was in response to crossnote)

And therein is the distinction between the doctrine, of enduring to the end & eternal security... blasphemy of the Holy Ghost & "in whom we have now received the atonment", amongst others. The "inner man" is a holy thing, "the spirit that is of God", this is that holy Spirit of promise, notice the little "h" used in the kjv, it is important to doctrine for the "mystery of godliness" at work in the world through "instruments of righteousness", those who properly possess their vessels and submit to building with "gold, silver & precious stones", meet for use as workmen and as ambassadors for Christ and His call.

The new creature is to be preaching Christ and Him crucified "according to the revelation of the mystery", which is so much more than "justification & reconciliation" of souls, it includes manifesting life in the flesh now, etetnal life. This is not about the flesh, but that which is in the flesh "doing the work of His Father", whereby we as adopted sons cry "abba Father" with this holy Spirit. I'll have to come back to this, ttyl.

" And without controversy great is the*mystery of godliness:*God was manifest in the flesh"

This is not about the conception of Jesus or Jesus walking in time on the Earth, but Christ being formed in the inner man of the new creature, the saved person, who is now dead and his "life is hid with Christ in God"

(excuse me if this posts twice, really bad signal today)
