Here is what Jesus said about same-sex marriage:

[6] But from the beginning of creation, `God made them male and female.'
[7] `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
[8] and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh. Mark 10:6-8 RSV

The world is ruled by Satan, and the world has decided that homosexuality is a great thing. We are not part of the world.

Remember that through Christ and our Abba in Heaven, the Apostle Paul wrote, "They are a new creation in Christ...neither Jew nor Gentiles, Greek or Saracen...Male and Female." Galatians 3:28. Christ has removed us from all labels and all requirements, we are simply God's children and the beloved bride of Christ.

Immoral lust will always be a sin, of course:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:16 RSV

I'm surprised you believe that homosexuality is sinful to any degree, as your church, the UMC doesn't.

There is a struggle in our church over that issue. For the moment, I think that the United Methodist Book of Discipline still labels homosexuality as a sin. However, out here in the California-Nevada Conference, where I live, there has been a strong pro-homosexuality movement, which I find quite distressing.

I, at one point, sent an e-mail to over 300 churches in the conference, and later to more than 100 churches in our district, complaining about this, for what good it did.

Many religious leaders are more interested in making themselves popular than they are in their Christian responsibilities.

At least you did something! And I know what you mean by church leadership seeking popularity; my pastor and the worship leader are heading more and more in that direction...

Have you considered that the Lord is not there and you should leave as well? Your testimony will suffer as long as you associate with them.

***Sarcasm Alert***

Why would that be? Anything associated with the works of the Law is not salvation by grace is it?

***End Sarcasm***

Here is what Jesus said about same-sex marriage (...)
The scripture is read out of context. Jesus quoted Genesis 2:24 in a discussion with the Pharisees about divorce to make clear 'what (...) God has joined together, let no man put asunder'(Marc 10:9). So this clearly ISN'T what Jesus had to say about same sex-marriage,

This has to do with our spirits, our salvation. It is not saying that God changed male and female so He sees them the same.

God is eternal, the bible reports on our eternal God. God isn't one way in 2,000 BC and another in 2,000 AD.

Scripture says that God created female from part of the male, they are different.
Scripture says that in marriage they become one, the pieces are united. How could they go together again if female unites with female, male with male. The pieces won't fit.

God made this physically and spiritually so.

No. A church is not just the big shots. A church is everybody there. My church is great, even if the leadership of my conference stinks. The support my church gives me is great. I believe I can set an example for the others in my church and they can benefit from that. I think they depend on me, and others in my church, to do that.

Don't kid yourself. Those of us who resist the temptation of lust find it most disgusting when church leaders give their blessing to lust.

I would have to disagree. It clearly defines the paramaters of mariage as created and designed by God - “But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. “FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
