Why is the law weak? Was it both law and the flesh? Is the Word of God weak? It has to be one or the other as I see it.
I'll just present this
Romans 8:3 (KJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Was the law capable of saving you? If it was, then it would be strong.

It is not, because since all have sinned already. It is weak or powerless to save us.

the context is salvation and how. Not what happens in ones flesh.

The law could not save us, Which is why Christ had to come.

Answer this. What tells us of our need for salvation, and the need to die daily?

23Before the coming of this faith,[17] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.Galatians 3

That is not the point. The point is why is the law week in the context of the passage.

The law only being capable of telling us we need salvation. And keeping us humble after we are saved, proves that it is weak. Thats why we need Christ is it not?

There is only one gospel. Any other gospel leads people to hell. is this not right?

I have disagreements with alot of people on some doctrines. But that is fine, But when it comes to the gospel. we are to stand firm, Expose the false prophets. At the least confront them..

i was thinking more on, when we confess jesus christ as lord lol

I agree with all said except for no. 4.
We are by God forgiven, through the shed blood of Christ, and there are no more sacrifices to be given to anyone for anymore forgiveness to be executed from God to us, anyone.
There is no shedding of blood and therefore there is no more forgiveness since blood is required for any forgiveness to be given.
Hebrews 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

The sacrifice of Christ was done once and for all, to those that come to believe God, are through the cross made Holy:
Colossians 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

What was that for? So we CAN BE PRESENTED TO WHO? Father, so Father then seeing no sin, and rebirths us, as in dead to flesh sin and alive to God in the Spirit of God, as Holy in his sight, and we are his and no one can snatch us out of his hand.
Now if we do sin as many still do we have Christ as our mediator that has past tense forgiven us, so we can approach the throne of Grace in confidence, not to ask for more forgiveness, to ask God where we messed up at, as saying thank you Christ for already forgiving me back at the cross, now Father will you please teach me how to say no to this stupid thing I did and walk humbly, loving the Mercy that I never want to take for granted.
And do you think you will be taught to walk as Christ walked or not?
So do you see that No. 4 is the flesh in the way.

Better yet find me anywhere in the New Testament, after the death of Christ on the cross, anyone states to ask for forgiveness over and over if we sin again? 1 john 1:9 does not state to ask again and again, it states to believe, receive and then walk as he walked by Faith. No where does it say to it over and over again, after one believes and thus receives
Just some good searching to find anywhere one is to ask for more forgiveness after receiving the forgiveness provided from God at the cross. I have not found it yet, after his death, before all over the place, but not after
I respect much of what you say, but how do you reconcile these scriptures by not agreeing with #4?

4.We have entered into a relationship with God, through Christ Jesus, and know, if our old nature has its way, we will be separated from Him until we ask for forgiveness, and be conquerors of the old nature through Him.

1 Corinthians 15:30-31 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP]And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
[SUP]31 [/SUP]I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Luke 9:23-24 (KJV)
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

It seems to evident that my understanding of scripture is different than most in that I believe that our carnal nature is still within us after our salvation takes place. I then call salvation a way of life. Some might believe that we are conformed into the image of Christ in a blink of an eye, and then it's all over, and the carnal nature just goes away forever form that point on. I think that there is a process of events that Christ is involved in 24/7. When we are born, we drink milk and crawl, when we grow up we eat meat and walk. Takes time and effort.

You sound political ...saying "That's not the point. The point, or question should be thus and such."

Seems as though you are saying that the law has no power but to keep us humble. If it's weak it can't be that strong.

in that it was weak through the flesh, is what it says.

It doesn't say in that it was weak through itself, or the weak law never did anything substantial. Claiming what God has given as weak puts all of what God has ever said into question.

You are not getting the point.

What is the context? The context is weak in the flesh, It can not save. Are you going to deny this? Can the law make you righteous? NO. Why? YOU CAN:T OBEY IT ENOUGH TO BE RIGHTEOUS.

So what did God have to do? SEND HIS SON.. If the law could save us (if it was strong) Christ would not have had to come.

I am not claiming what God gave is weak. I am claiming what God gave did what it was supposed to do. Not make us righteous, But to PROVE we are unrighteous.

it is strong in doing what it is supposed to do. It is weak in that it can not save us.

If your going to try to be righteous by the law (either for salvation, or in doing good after you are saved) the law has NO POWER..

Why is the body dead because of sin? Because of the law. Still still reigns in our mortal bodies. thus our bodies are still dead. Yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness?? Now who's righteousness is this? Gods or ours??

The law still states you are unrighteous. So it CAN NOT BE THE LAW!

Answer this. What tells us of our need for salvation, and the need to die daily?
the whole counsel of God - the NT primarily, for in it is the Gospel...and everything needful (certainly enough commandments for our good) for the Christian sanctification and life. the OT is still the counsel of God...but would you prefer to get your instructions from the texts ("manual" and history) your Boss sent out 3000 years ago to the people to whom He revealed His future plan?

or would you read the future Plan in which everything was revealed? The Last Will and Testament of Jesus Christ?
Jesus had to die for the New Will to take effect. why would we go to the Old Will and Testament (which was superceded by the New)?

Jesus and His disciples reiterated every single commandment from God that God desires us to come into obedience to - in the NT. this is not a call to separate or discard the whole counsel of God. that would be discarding half of the History and revealtion of our God to us.

just to discern that everything Christians (the free men) need was confirmed by the Lord Jesus, in keeping with the New Covenant.

I never said that it could and never will. You’re preaching to the choir.

Again. I agree that the law can’t save us. Wasn’t meant to save us.

I am not claiming what God gave is weak. I am claiming what God gave did what it was supposed to do. Not make us righteous, But to PROVE we are unrighteous.
There you have the law strength. Wonderful!!

it is strong in doing what it is supposed to do. It is weak in that it can not save us.
There’s where you are not listening to what I’ve been saying. It had power over us until Christ. It still has power to show us our carnal nature that we all have even after salvation. It shows us our weakness, and our weakness will always be there in the carnal nature even though we are no longer under it.

If your going to try to be righteous by the law (either for salvation, or in doing good after you are saved) the law has NO POWER..
I never said that I was trying to be righteous by the law. That has never worked and it never will. That’s self righteousness.

All of God is righteous, and all the Words He has ever spoke are righteous. All of what He has shown us is righteous. And what he has shown to us through His righteous Word is that we (carnal nature still with us after salvation) are unrighteous. Hope that makes sense to you.

The rhetorical question that we, as Christians, must answer for ourselves is, does the strength of the law expose the weakness of the flesh, or does the strength of the salvation expose the weakness of the law? One cannot have it both ways.

So correct me here.....because we are no longer under "The Law " then this explains why so many Christians find it perfectly okay to bring in pagan traditions and say that they are doing it unto God and that is okay?....what does God say about that?

19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
looking at the state of conforming to the ways of the world.

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

looking at what the spirt is, compared to the flesh.
as sin incresses so dos grace because life out side the church is always changing, but the grace of jesus dose not(its eternal , till god lowers his hand)2ooo years on

Because Jesus taught the most of it before he died.

I like the teachings of the Old as well as the New because it’s like music. The crescendo is the last part but the beauty of the whole score from the beginning sends one into those expectations of the complete composition. Having just the last movement makes the ending not as dynamic.

just to discern that everything Christians (the free men) need was confirmed by the Lord Jesus, in keeping with the New Covenant.
Without something that is old, there can be nothing new. It’s the entire plan that I count as complete. Love and marriage “Ya can’t have one without the other.” You know the old song.

Because Jesus taught the most of it before he died.

i didn't expect you to acknowledge that i SAID - love and keep the whole counsel of God.
i did expect you to skip over that and tell me how awesome you are.

That's right. Couldn't agree more. maybe should have incorporated that in the rhetorical questions. The conversation has gone to the strength of what gives us the capability to die to self daily.
