I take it at face value, that God will remove all the seas of world. Why? Many think it's for more dry land for all the immortal people who will live on Earth.
you don’t see any possibility that he is going to remove the sea and then fill the void with the waters in the next chapter ?

which is why I went back tonthe root of johns vision of the living waters from the throne to highlight this part

The rooted understanding of prophecy

“Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭47:8-9, 12‬ ‭

and johns revelation of it

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

next chapter

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I was wondering if you think at first there was no sea , and then the river of life spilled into the dessert and restored the sea ? The last thing restored of creation but with healing living waters ?

that probably words what I was asking you better do you think that’s possible ?

The Sea in the Bible has both literal and symbolic meanings. In Rev 13 v1 John has a vision of a Beast coming out of the Sea
that has seven heads and ten horns. The sea represents the nations of the world from which the Beast emerges. Revelation
is full of symbols and types which can be found in the rest of the Bible. A good knowledge of the Bible and attention to the
context of a verse or passage opens up an individuals understanding and allows the Holy Spirit to teach us. The
Apostles and their converts didnt have a written New Testament to rely on. See Luke 24
Amen the apostles doctrine came from the prophets witness of Christ together with his gospel in their hearts and minds that fulfilled the prophets and laws testimony of him

“Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we now have thier witness of him and the four gospels in our heart it’s the same they heard of Christ before he came and believed in the ot we hear of Christ after and believe Jesus and the apostles are the New Testament like. Moses and the prophets testified of him before

Prophecy holds a great key for understanding I agree

oh yes Ezekiel I remmeber that chapter...the river thats flows out from the throne in the New Jersalem reaches all across the planet I gather and it also heals all the lands in its path just like how the rivers in the garden of Eden used to flow out and water it

Thats why I wondered about the salty water becoming fresh or maybe the sea evaporating, drying up, it all becomes land and then the fresh water from the river flows over and heals it.

yes that’s what led me to that verse I read what you had said about salt and fresh water seems to make sense but it’s just an opinion

you know those four rivers ? ( very in depth subject matter ) And notice where I highlighted waters from the East in Ezekiel ?

“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:8, 10‬ ‭KJV‬

The East is important because that’s the source of the four rivers it’s the one coming from Gods place in Eden from the East it would become all four directions covering the earth Ezekiel there if you look at the whole chapter and consider genesis you see the river in revelation and the same in genesis

“Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭47:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

then of course it breaks in all directions and fills the earth but coming from the East of we go back and see what he has been saying we see that it’s just another reference that fixes our eyes on Jesus and his living waters Ezekiel was shown the same city John saw and he was measuring the temple and it was being explained and the gate leading to the East was specific that shod entered through it and it was shut until the prince messiah would come in and then again go out through the eastern gate only the messiah could open the river of life it had been shut off a long while

“Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. Then said the Lord unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the Lord, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭44:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so eventually the understanding leads us here there’s a lot more to it but it send us to this faith eventually

“Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
‭‭John‬ ‭7:33-34, 37-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

only Jesus could enter into the heavenly places but what he’s done is made us able through him to join him in his heavenly kingdom which Hearken us back to the beginning and also the end Gods true design for us to be with him forever all possible and only possible through Christ the messiah of both earth and heaven the source of living water

The door being shut referenced this point in time

“Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but christ when he came did this

“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

everything changes with sin and then he changed it back for this who believe in him exclusively

Revelation 22:17

says that everyone who wants to takes the water of life freely

I wonder where exactly was the location of the Garden of Eden, I think the only river still running is the Euphrates? The others have disappeared or dried up? Or gone underground...?

Is there a spring or fountain beneath the earth of current day Jerusalem?

im thinking if all the seas evaporate then the climate worldwide will be like a tropical greenhouse. ANd if so that would be kind of neat. Perhaps the salt and minerals will crystalise and all the former seas would be like crystal gardens.
Hi Lanolin,

First of all, we have to understand that the new earth is new and is not going to be a refurbishment of this current earth. Regarding this, consider the following:

"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them."

"Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” a for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea"

" There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

In the scripture above, John states that the first heaven and the first earth had passed away (aperchomai). The same Greek word 'aperchomai translated "passed away" is used referring to death, mourning, crying and pain passing away, meaning that those things will no longer exist. Based on these scriptures, I lean towards the new atmosphere and earth being brand spankin' new, opposed to a refurbishment of this current earth. That said, the reason for no more sea (oceans) will be because God does not create any for the new earth. This current heaven and earth, with all of its oceans and everything else, will be burned up.

yes but earth is meaning land, and land is only a SMALL part because the planet is ROUND and the earth only makes up the surface, what about UNDERNEATH the earth. It isnt said God would burn the planet up and just speak a new one into existence.

Also its not a refurbishment like just changing the furniture around. Its more like complete renovation.
