What or who is the little horn in Daniel 7?

I would love to hear your thoughts

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
20 And of the ten horns that [were] in his head, and [of] the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even [of] that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look [was] more stout than his fellows.21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom [are] ten kings [that] shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.25 And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy [it] unto the end.

I went over this in my Demons class this semester (I'm a religion major haha) and we learned that a lot of Biblical scholars believe it to be the Beast in Revelation... or in a more obscure interpretation, the "Whore" of Babylon. The way she rides the Dragon in Revelation is similar to the Little Horn.

There isn't a quick answer to who or what the Little Horn is. You have to let the Bible answer itself thru scripture and thru history. To begin to find the answer, you have to read two books in unison. The book of Daniel, and the book of Revelation. Here is a link that will give you versus in the visions of Daniel and John that parrallel each other on the little horn. But please read these versus from your own bible to verify they are Gods word, and not just some mans interpertation.

The little horn would be the antichrist,the beast,the 8th king,the man of sin,who comes from the ten horns,which the Bible says the 10 horns give their power to the beast,the little horn.

In the book of Daniel 9,it says the prince to come,the antichrist,the little horn,will be from the people who overthrew Jerusalem,which is the Roman Empire.

In Daniel chapter 7,it says that Babylon,Medo-Persia,and Greece,had their dominion taken away,which means they will never rise to power again,but their ways are still on earth,Babylon was represented as human religion,Medo-Persia is represented ad physical cruelty,and Greece is represented as human wisdom.

The next world power,the Roman Empire,did not have their dominion taken away,which means they have the dominion until Jesus puts them down,and will be a big force at the end,with them all coming together,and when the world agrees to come together as one,prompted by Europe,they will split the world in to ten sections,and place a leader in each section,the 10 horns,and the 10 horns will hand their power over to the beast,the little horn.

The 10 horns come from the Roman Empire,and the little horn comes from the 10 horns,which the little horn,the prince to come,comes from the Roman Empire.

To understand better Daniel 7 a good place to start is Daniel 2. In Daniel 2 we have:-
Gold=Babylon
Silver=Medo-Persia
Brass=Greece
Iron=Rome
Clay=Church
Iron & Clay= Church/state
Stone=God's kingdom

In this prophecy there is no gap between the kingdoms, as soon as one fell another took over straight away. Rome fell in 476 AD so we should see the 10 horns straight away according to how the prophecy works. In 476 AD western Rome fell and divided into 10 parts. So then shortly after that the little horn arose who would be according to the prophecy a church/ state power and be a persecuting power.

Notice that the 10 horns come out of the 4th beast
Daniel 7:23-24
(23) Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
(24) And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Notice it says the 10 horns shall arise and the little horn shall arise after them. The 4th beast in Daniel 7 is Rome. When this beast arose at first it did not have horns then the 10 horns arose out of the 4th beast, so the 10 horns would have to be Roman in origin as well as the little horn.

The 10 horns cannot be for the end times for then they would not be Roman. Rome was divided into 3 parts and Rome of the west fell in 476 AD and was divided into 10 parts making the 10 horns Roman as the prophecy says

5) Greece
The “one is” is 6)Rome in the time when john wrote Revelation.

The fourth beast was the fourth kingdom from were Daniel stud.

If you notice Daniel 2 mentions 4 world empires as does Daniel 7. In Daniel 2 gold which is the king of metals represents Babylon. In Daniel 7 the lion which is the king of beasts also represents Babylon. The 10 horns come out of the 4th beast so they have there origin in the 4th kingdom.

There are 4 world empires in both Daniel 2 & 7, also notice that the feet and 10 toes has both Iron & Clay

What alot of people may not know is, even though we know that in the 40's or 50's the EEC (European Economic Commitee) came about and then later became the EU, and in '93' the old Roman Constitution was reinstated. And agreed they will be a part of the final beast w/ anti-christ. But the piece that is missing is NO jew or muslim is going to accept a outsider to rule the temple mount. We have to remember that the war between Israel and ALL the arab countries is the biggest and oldest family feud in history. lol
Turkey which was the head of the Ottoman Empire, the biggest and longest reigning empire in history, is suppose to become a part of the EU here in 2012. What alot don't know is the beast of the Ottoman Empire is on the rise again, (the beast that was and is not, and is again) And if they do become apart of the EU, all things change, as the muslim world in the EU is growing like a wild fire already. This is the toes of iron and clay, iron being Rome(EU) and the clay(Islam) they are strong, yet they are weak. See my post above for the historical facts concerning the Ottoman Empire. One more thing is the muslims were the ones who conquered the Byzantine era. That is also when they captured Jerusalem and built the mosque on the temple mount.
We have to remember that everything to do with anything including the anti-christ stems around Jerusalem and the temple mount. Scripture shows this specifically. Shalom

The fourth kingdom the legs of iron shall be strong.

But the fifth shall be divided, partly strong, and partly broken.

So as you can see when I read Daniel 2 I see 5 kingdoms not 4.

Plus you have to do the maths.

We today are not the Roman Empire. At best we have remnants from the Roman Empire.

When did the legs of iron/Roman Empire fall/collapse it was around the year 476.

Thus the feet and toes clay are the fifth.

Now go to Daniel 7.

Daniel saw four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
Looking forward in time from Daniels day he saw four beasts/ four kingdoms arise out of the sea.
The first beast /kingdom, after Daniels day of Babylon the kingdom which he was in the head of Gold, the first beast after Daniel/Babylon, was the medo-persian Empire the breast the his arms of silver. That’s the kingdom that came up after Babylon.

The second beast/kingdom was the Grecian Empire the belly and his thighs of brass .
The third beast/kingdom was the Roman Empire. The legs of iron
And the fourth beast with the ten hours is the latter days the feet and ten toes part of iron and part of clay, then Jesus come’s the stone that smote the image.

Now go to

Rv17 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

This is the ten toes or the ten horns/ ten kings.

Yes, this is correct, I guess I didn't explain right, sorry. A hebrew or arab, will more than likely be the one to pull this off. As far as being able to get Israel and the Arabs to agree to a 7 yr. deal. Shalom

Not Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon “the head of Gold”.
