How can anyone say they truly understand a story or topic coming in halfway through the material instead of starting "in the beginning"?

A solid foundation is essential to build a solid structure. Otherwise, any strong outside wind (ruach = spirit) can come and blow the entire structure down...which oftentimes leaves the builder even more distraught and lost than when they began.

Welcome. I rejoice greatly over your decision to put your faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins! There's nothing more important a person can do.

I'd just pray and ask Him to guide you. Then just find something that looks good and start reading. If it doesn't spark your interest, move on to something else until you find something that does. The good thing about the Bible is there's plenty to choose from!
This is the advice I personally found most helpful. When I first started reading the Bible it was with someone equally as unprepared as I was. We would read a couple of verses and stop and ask each other what they meant. Neither one of us had a clue and we'd read some more.
Thankfully, the Spirit does lead us into truth and what seemed so new and strange eventually becomes life to us.

For me... they knew my life my parents so told me to read John a few times. Praise God I did.
Amen , johns summary of why he wrote his gospel and it’s intent

“but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
‭‭John‬ ‭20:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What Order Should a New Christian Read the Bible in? I have recently discoered faith and really want to read the Bible but not sure what order to go in fully!
Most people like the Gospel of John best. If you want something short, I like Ephesians also. The Spirit will guide you if you study and meditate prayerfully.
God bless you, Jax.

I became a Christian after reading the Bible..
I read starting from Genesis and i read the entire Bible..
But i do recommend to Seekers to read the New Testament first from Matthew to Revelation and then go back to Genesis and read the Old Testament.. I recommend this because i feel it is a priority for people to get the Gospel message that saves them..

But having said all that i don't declare that someone ""MUST read the NT first so sayeth the LORD""... It's just a personal opinion of what i think is the optimal path.. I am cool with Seekers doing what i did when i was a Seeker and starting at Genesis..
