I think i am starting to understand why the old testament is written very different to the new testament and why there is so much violence in the old, so much wars, death etc. etc.

I really don't understand Chris2552....... The Bible is the "WORD of GOD"...it was Written, inspired and divinely designed by God Himself. What is concealed in the OT is revealed in the NT and what is concealed in the NT is revealed in the OT. They go hand in hand regardless of what era the chapters were written and by whom.

The Holy spirit has been around since the beginning as has Jesus. I think you will find that in every page of the OT after Genesis 7, Jesus Christ is there.

As far as the violence goes, we have more today than they did back them. How many have died with mankind taking all the blame. Greed, Power, Money, Jealousy have and are being the cause of so many deaths. The Bible tells us at one point in the future, if it were not for Jesus Christ interference, none on earth would survive. With Nuclear weapons, we now have the power to annihilate
seven billion people almost over night.

One other item about the violence and wars of the past, most all of them have and are still being fought over the land promised to Abraham and his heirs in the area of the "Fertile Crescent". Even today and most importantly in the near future, the majority of people will die trying to deny Israel the land that God gave them. Israel is God's timepiece and should be ours as well.

No. You don't think you are perfected or saved by the law.

But you still place yourself under the law. For what purpose, I don't really know.
What do you mean by "under the law?"

1. The law was given as a unit, it was never meant to be broken up
2. The law was given as a means to lead us to Christ
3. God does not grade on a curve.
4. Gods standard is 100 % obedience, Break even the least of the laws. Your guilty of the WHOLE LAW

so, to answer the question.. There is NO PART of the law we can obey Because God demands obedience.

I draw the line as for as some foods are concerned, such as, I don't eat fertilized duck eggs as the Vietnamese do, and I will not eat Mountain Oysters or genitalia in general, horses and rats are off my menu too. :D

That is hilarious! The kingdom of God is righteousness , peace and "joy" in the Holy Spirit.
