The only time I see men falling down in scripture is at the arrest of Jesus in the garden, when he presented himself as the "I am". A far cry from healing.

Paul fell down when he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus. John did also in Revelation 1:17 There is a legitimate falling down when the power and manifestation of God occurs....the flesh of man gives out when He shows up.... but many just fall down on their own or are pushed down..but the Lord is growing us up in the knowledge of these things..

Bc Grace really ...come on. That's a bit of a stretch, I have to agree with you with Paul (somewhat)...but the "slaying of the spirit" sort of speak is more effect in what we think should happen.

When Jesus healed ...never saw.....Peter...the apostles...glamor nothing more.

I understand. I agree there are "fleshly" things done but I would not throw the baby out with the dirty water.

I have heard many stories from devout men that believed the exact opposite and then they too encountered the presence of God and they were down.

Just because the falling down isn't mentioned all the time in scripture doesn't mean it didn't occur from time to time..as we have seen it does occur in Jesus and in Paul and in John. I wouldn't be so quick to throw things out because I haven't experienced it or because some people were "faking it" because of emotion.

As far as the people just falling themselves or some person trying to push them down...the Lord will have them grow up eventually...lol

I hate altar calls....biggest waste of time in my opinion....God looks at your heart and what you say to Him matters....

another tip: For the altar call neck pushers....is to take a foot and step behind the other foot so that your in a one foot front one foot back stance, that I have found stops the fake altar call pushers ( the people who push down instead of genuine falling down) and they give up every time...some are stubborn but after 5-10 min they give up...works every time.... hehehe :)

Re the alter call thingy, have to say these can be times of great blessings and I don't
have a problem with them. It takes humility and guts to publically declare you need a
touch of God in your life and make your way to the front of the church.

That is why a lot of people don't go forward, they are too proud. But the very act of
going forward shows you are serious about God and pride is not going to hinder you.
God always blesses this type of humility if the motives are right.

I say this as I have known some people go forward just for the attention. But if it
is done with right motives then God will bless you.

I too have seen people pushed over. But I have also seen many swept off their feet
by the power of God.

For example we were praying for a couple who were to be married shortly. No one was
touching them, one man said from now on when one experiences the power of God, so will
the other.

They were not even touching each other but suddenly they both fell in complete
sychrony like a stone statutes backwards both hitting the ground at precisely the same
time! They could not have faked that if they had tried. The Holy Spirit just swept
them both of their feet.

When they eventually got up there wasn't a mark on them, no sore backs, heads
etc.

LOL..my goodness..that was both funny and obnoxious at the same time...I had to stop at the 1:29 mark....not too much "spiritual words" happening in that.

Alter calls......ive never felt alter calls were for the congregation at all....tje folks usually at the front during alter calls are supposed to be the "prayer warriors" of the church. I will never turn down someone who wants to pray with me. Where two or more come together i am there among them...maybe I've been lucky. I've"seen' churches where the pastor makes an alter call and then he wants to be right in the middle of it or he'll go to every spot and touch someone and do a 3 second prayer and move on. The churches I've attended either the pastor has a spot of his own or completely moves out of the way. We all need a baptism in the Holy Spirit, a true baptism. Unfortunately sometimes people do things just for show, but just because one person does it whose to say the one right next to them ain't a show. If Jesus needed all three baptisms, shoot where do i stand!!..... Don't let what you" see" change the way you" feel".... If you feel a calling......" I'm gone! " get there.....
