How does Jesus bring the saints with him when he comes back if they are not currently with him?......
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

The saints meet Christ in the air, in the clouds and return with Him to the earth.

yeah well there are few details that you obviously reject that puts it above a parable....LIKE ACTUAL NAMES and PEOPLE involved so.....keep on dreaming!
So if you REALLY think it is not a parable, and that it is a fact, let's look at the implications...

Luk 16:22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
Luk 16:23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

They can see each other.

Luk 16:24 "Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'
Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.

They not only see each other, they can talk to each other.

Luk 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.'

They can see and talk to each other but cannot pass between nor do anything on the other side of the gulf between them.

So, let's assume this is reality instead of a parable...

Mothers in heaven can see their unsaved children writhing in pain in hell and can hear their shrieks and screams for all eternity but are POWERLESS to do anything to comfort them. They are doomed to watching their children suffer forever and ever?

So this is your idea of the wonderful afterlife that is promised by God? If this is heaven, I don't think I am interested.

Hi Mac, the Bible talks about TWO different resurrections, the first one being just before the 1000 years and the second one just after the 1000 years. The first one will be for the living 'saved' and the dead 'saved'. The second resurrection will be for the dead 'unsaved'. You want texts to prove that? Just ask and it will be given.
I did a short reply to your reply and you had nothing to say or if you did I did not find it. Your screen name is truth and then your name so I want to help you on the subject you started you said TWO but it is FOUR RESURRECTIONS not two.

When Jesus returns is the first resurrection of the three in this subject.

1 Thes. 4:16-17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The dead in Christ, the dead real Christians are first then the remaining alive real Christians will in the blink of an eye die and change to immortal just like the dead one have been. They will be with Jesus in the same place I used to fly in years gone by.

1 Cor. 15:23-24
But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. 24Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

Christ the first one then the others. Note this supports the fact that no others before Jesus have been resurrected to immortality.

Rev. 20:1-11
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. 4And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

A the end of the 1000 years is the second resurrection.

Rev. 20:7-11
7Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. 11Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

This will be the main resurrection of the many from every time and place in the past. This is a mortal resurrection of all that have not known of God and the ones that have been deceived about God's truth such as most on the Bible forums.

Isaiah 65:17-25
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. 20There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. 21And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

All the babies both born and unborn will grow up knowing God and they will have their first chance for salvation. All these people will be given their first chance at salvation and I must assume that most will take it. BUT like on the Bible forums there are always a few that no matter what is shown or said they just do not want any part of it...

Ezekiel 37:1-14
The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" So I answered, "O Lord GOD, You know." 4Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones:

"Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD." '
"

7So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. 9Also He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live." ' " 10So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, 'Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!' 12Therefore prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD:

"Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it," says the LORD.' "

A the end of the 1100 years is the third resurrection.

This is where the ones from the second resurrection that still do not want God in there life come into play. This is also where the just plain unGodly types from all times meet their end, it is the second and final death.

They end up as ash under the feet of the born again from mortal to immortal no matter what some others on the forum want to continue to believe on the subject.

Rev. 20:13-15NKJVThe sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Malachi 4:1-3KJV
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

Obadiah 1:16
For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
END of study.

Well there are really four that have lots of meaning, the first was about Jesus living again after death the second is when Jesus returns and the third is at the end of the 1000 years and the fourth starts at the end of the 1000 years.

You did better then most about how many and I do thank you for the reply I was getting ready to drop this forum from my help list but now I will wait a bit to see how things go.

Mac.
Hi Mac, my initial reply was for how many resurrections are still in the pipeline, if I may refer to it like that. I cannot follow your reasoning very well as you quote that there will be two resurrections at the end of the 1000 years. I agree that Jesus was resurrected after He died on the cross for us and you give this as number one. The next resurrection will take place when Jesus comes to collect the saved, which I believe to be just before the 1000 years, and the next one for the unsaved will be after the 1000 year period. There will be no need for a further resurrection as everybody that were dead, were resurrected.

Our Lord Jesus never taught bad illustrations or parables that would lead to doctrinal error: He had the mind of God. Read in Luke 16 of the rich man and Lazarus. From there, it's the Great White Throne judgment, where people have some differing ideas. The bottom line? Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Mark 9:47-48 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Not the sort of thing to monkey around over, however one wishes to slice it?

(Must say the part of your question "really go" is perplexing. Is the Bible not sufficient?)

We go to sleep. We are awakened by a resurrection from the dead.
We go sleep in the presence of the Lord?

2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord... 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

"Hey, John832! You're snoring!"

It's easy to say others are "dreaming" and "reality" will show them the "opposite" of what they believe suggesting they get their belief from "comic strips".

Can you give us the real "reality" that lies ahead for we Christians as you see them without simply saying "Read your Bible?"
I have already commented on what I believe in, why the request? Just go back and re-read what I have written.

I was not posting about the Resurrection of Jesus so I did not include it in my post sorry if that confused you.
If you start with the return of Jesus as the first resurrection of some of the dead you will end up with three and then one can add the resurrection of Jesus making it four resurrections. Read again about the last resurrection that happens after the 1100 have ended and then you will have the complete story.

Thanks

well snoring is a problem with many but to add to what has been said.

When Will Christians Be 'Present With the Lord?

Doesn't Paul say that to be "absent from the body" is to be "present with the Lord" ? If, then, a Christian dies and is "absent from the body," is he not immediately (and consciously) "present with the Lord"?

The expressions "absent from the body" and "present with the Lord" are found in 2 Corinthians 5:6,8. In the preceding verses, Paul speaks of the present mortal condition and the future glorified state. The mortal body is described as "our earthly house" (verse 1), "this tent" (verses 1,4), and our present "home" (verse 6). These descriptions are contrasted with the everlasting "building from God," or "house not made with hands" (verse 1), which is "our habitation which is from heaven" (verse 2) with which we shall be "clothed" (verses 2-4).

A person who is "absent from the body" has put off the present clothing. He will remain "naked" (verse 3), or "unclothed" (verse 4), until he is "further clothed" (verse 4) with his "building," "house," or "habitation" from heaven. At that time, he will be "present with the Lord."

Both the present mortality and the future immortality are described in terms of "clothing." The mortal body a person occupies is his present clothing. His future clothing is the immortal body he will obtain at the resurrection, which takes place at the Second Coming of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:21-23,50-55; 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17). He is "naked," or "unclothed," between death and resurrection. Therefore, Paul did not mean that a person who is "absent from the body" is immediately and consciously "present with the Lord."

The END.

Hi Mac, I have re-read your article a couple of times to fathom out what the reasoning behind your statement is and I think I understand why you say that there will be a fourth resurrection and that is because of the babies that are involved at the coming of Jesus Christ. You believe that the babies need to go through the same process to become believers or not as the adults now have that chance. If that is the case I can tell you that the babies are covered by the parents actions and will be judged according to that. If the parents are believers, the baby, whether born or not yet, I believe that they will be saved as the chances are very good that if that baby grew up, he will be a believer as been taught by his parents. The alternate is also true that if the parents are evil and non-believers, the baby whether born or not, will grow up as a non-believer and will thus follow the same route as his parents did. The Bible also refers to two resurrections only, the first for the saved and the second for the unsaved. Nowhere could I find a text or reference to specify a third resurrection. As for the texts you quote under the third resurrection, I believe it to refer to the second resurrection. It has just more body to it to explain how things will happen but all of them refer to the second resurrection. Thanks for the article, I don't mind long articles as it shows that you have done extensive studies and need to specify all the links to your thoughts. I do exactly that as well. At the end of the day, we need to check whether all our facts are also in line with what the Bible teaches. I do not say that I am always right in what I am writing but I write what I believe to be correct and I also need to check on my own reasoning if somebody else does come up with something different to what I believe in and compare it to the Bible. All the teachings need to gell with the Bible.

Babies are just small humans and Jesus said that one must repent and such and that is why there is a resurrection at the end of the 1000 yeas. It lasts 100 yeas and the babies the mortal human babies and the deceived all will be given the truth of God and some may refuse to repent and be baptized but most will follow God.

Thanks for your reply you have done so in a Christian way and that does not happen most of the time.

We go wherever God decides, He is the one in charge, ever notice? Death makes this so obvious, God is in complete control.

I'll amen that. People, we need to be more like these two in our debates. Bless you both.

Know that where God dwells, there is no time in space. Eternity...
When we die in this body, we will enter a spiritual place where time does not exist.
I have thought about this and I have a theory that when we die we will all instantaneously be before God in the Great Judgment.
Some say they have been sent to hell as Christian's to witness it and then to come back to this world to repot what they saw. They believe hell is happening right now, they say heaven is also happening right now.
I don't really know the answer to this question but I do know that the apostle Paul wrote in the Bible that if he were to die, then he would immediately be with the Lord. If there are people in heaven now, they are in the 3rd heaven where God's throne is. And they are awaiting the New Heaven. But I do know that Scripture talks about at the end of this age that Death and Hades (Hell) gave up the dead to be judged. That would mean that people are in hell right now as I am writing this to you. That would be the first hell though. The second hell is the Lake of Fire which death and the current hell will go into. These are just my thoughts.

It used to be I was taught either heaven or hell but after doing research I find death is just a deep sleep of unconciousness our thought perish with us..what do you think?
When people die they are dead, the breath of God returns to Him and the person remains dead until the resurrection

You make unsupported statements, "When we die in this body, we will enter a spiritual place where time does not exist." which should be based on facts, and then you end up saying that these are just your thoughts. "These are just my thoughts.". If you want to make statements like you have, then you need to supply the facts to support your statements. You have to look at all the texts in the Bible to get a true picture of what will be happening and not select only certain texts to paint a picture. The first question I will ask you is, What is Jesus Christ doing right now in heaven? Does the Bible not teach us that He has gone to build the New Jerusalem AND to write the names in the book, those who will be saved. Yes, He is busy with the judgement process, to sort the sheep from the goat. So your thought and theory, "I have thought about this and I have a theory that when we die we will all instantaneously be before God in the Great Judgment." cannot be correct. The fact that there will also be two resurrections still coming, means that Jesus Christ is coming again to first, resurrect the saved, and then after the 1000 years, to resurrect the unsaved. This is according to the Bible. During the 1000 years, the elected saved, will also be involved in judging the angels with Jesus Christ in heaven, and not on this polluted earth as some people teach. When the unsaved will be resurrected for the final destruction, is when the hades will give up the dead, and that does not mean it is hell where there is a fire or that it is hell on earth. Hades also mean grave, whether it is in the soil or the sea. All the dead now will remain dead until Jesus Christ comes again. That is fact. Nobody goes to heaven straight away when they die as Jesus is still coming to do the judgment. That is fact. I hope this is clear to you now.

The breath leaves the body but I do not think it returns to God. It mixes with the air around him. The dying person's breath may be polluted and I do not think God would like that. This is just a thought. I agree that the person will remain dead until the first or second resurrection.
