Many consider this as the million dollar question. Not really. Heaven is directly above us in an alternative, invisible dimension. How do I know this? There are several instances where heaven is seen by man with the naked eye.

1. Stephen saw Jesus sitting at the right hand as he was passing from this world to heaven.
2. In Acts 1 the disciples saw Jesus actually enter into heaven, "as you saw Him go into heaven.”
3. In Mat 24 , "the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven."
4. In Rev 11, "the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple."
5. In Rev 6, the sky is rolled back and heaven becomes visible. Otherwise how could those on earth make this statement: hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!

Yes, Heaven is right above us. God isn't dwelling on the other side of the universe, He is right directly above us.

The final proof comes right here from Genesis 1:

And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters...
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” [SUP]7 [/SUP]Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And God called the firmament Heaven.

The waters above were divided from the waters below. The space in between from the surface of the earth to where the canopy was above is called the firmament and this area is called HEAVEN. God is literally WITH US where ever we go, whether we are dead or alive. AMEN??

There are multiple heavens, 3 named in Scripture and said to be a total of 7. The first is from the ground to the firmament/ozone layer.

Hebrew 4:14, “Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, יהושע the Son of Yah, let us hold fast our confession.”

2Cor 12:2, “I know a man in Messiah who fourteen years ago – whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, Yah knows – such a one was caught up to the third heaven.”

Heaven is what our lives turn into when we repent of our sin:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

There are three Heavens...

Microcosm
Macrocosm
Multiverse

Folks that split up the Sky and Space into two parts are no better off than those that erase a Commandment and split up another to equal Ten.

Seek ye first what?

Luke 17:21
"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you"

Yes, Heaven within.

That doesn't mean your "imagination" either.

Human Anatomy, Biology...

STUDY IT!

For crying out loud people.

I guess some people just can't get past it being described as a location so that it made sense to the hearers of that day.

They seem to be able to understand that 'time' doesn't exist for God, but they still insist He has to have a physical chair to sit in and a roof over His head in some specific location.

Or maybe the heaven in Genesis 1:1 is the expanse which forms the physical body of space which we call the universe. I don't know if I would say it is an alternative dimension since we can see the expanse of space called heaven.

So where do you think Jesus is right now? You might want to look within to see what you can find out if you don't know.

Yes, Heaven is right above us. God isn't dwelling on the other side of the universe, He is right directly above us.
The eternal God does not dwell within this universe, hence John 5:26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: Deuteronomy 33:27

Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else. Deut 4:39

Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: 1 Tim 6:16
AMEN??
As written in Genesis 1:2, darkness was upon the face of the waters that was covered the entire surface of the Earth. Thus, in Genesis 1:3 when the Sun begin emitting visible white light, as the light waves struck the waters that covered the Earth the radiant heat began to melt the waters in the midst of the frozen waters producing the firmament, or rather the cloud that the LORD said he would cover the earth with like a garment so that the waters upon the earth would never destroy all the living substance upon the earth Thus, as written in Genesis 1:2 the earth was void, meaning that it lacked any living substance.

So yes, the firmament called Heaven in Genesis 1:8 is the atmosphere which was produced during the process which was referred unto as the 2nd day. However, our heavenly Father is the LORD that sitteth upon the flood, or rather the atmosphere which was risen above the highest mountain as written in Psalms 29:10.

Heaven is an actual place just like earth is an actual place. Jesus told us to pray, our Father who is IN HEAVEN. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. In revelation we are given a glimpse into Heaven and there is God the Father on a throne. Heaven is an actual place, God the Father is an actual Person who sits on the throne in Heaven. There is even a Temple of God in heaven.

it's up in the sky somewhere from the references that get made, most likely explanation is our eyes can't see it, much like our eyes can't see things like UV light

i don't think it matters really as to people arguing about alternate realms/dimensions, nothing will ever be proven.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know--God knows.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Ephesians 2:2

And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Job 1:7 KJV

And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Job 2:2 KJV

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 KJV

Job 38:31-33 New International Version (NIV)
[SUP]
31 [/SUP]“Can you bind the chains[SUP][a][/SUP] of the Pleiades?
Can you loosen Orion’s belt?
[SUP]32 [/SUP]Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons[SUP][b][/SUP]
or lead out the Bear[SUP][c][/SUP] with its cubs?
[SUP]33 [/SUP]Do you know the laws of the heavens?
Can you set up God’s[SUP][d][/SUP] dominion over the earth?

So you disagree with the Nicene Creed?

Does anyone hear "We are Stardust" when they read that passage? Yeah me neither, I hear Jesus singing "I am particle of the Invisible Light."

behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee
(1 Kings 8:27, repeated in 2 Chronicles 2:6 & 6:18)

i don't think it's as simple as finding an < x, y, z > location vector.

the word translated "
heaven" is used in scripture alternately describing the sky, the universe beyond the sky, and also spiritual places, isn't it? it's even used to describe a space of air between the ground and the boughs of a tree in 2 Samuel 18:9.

according to usage, the word heaven seems to describe, collectively, spatially, all that which is above in a physical sense, and all that is higher in a spiritual sense. a frisbee flies through the heavens just as the clouds reside in the heavens, just as it is the place where the moon orbits, and where the stars are. also it is the spiritual planes above all worldly comprehension, wholly removed from the tangible.

heaven, the heaven we call home, is where He is.

My main point is God and Heaven aren't in outer space somewhere across the galaxy or universe, they are right here. God hasn't left His creation.

We can't see heaven until we die although we are in the Kingdom of Heaven now.

Heb 12: Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

See that? We are surrounded by the saints who went before us. They are the "Clouds of Heaven" which received Christ and will one day be visible to those on earth at His return. On the Last Day, the invisible spiritual realm will become visible. The sky will roll back and heaven will be seen. After those in the dust of the earth awaken, those alive and remaining will be caught up and join these "clouds." Gotta have faith!!!

Heb 11: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Saying that Jesus sat down at the right hand of God the Father is not a statement about Christ's spiritual, physical or geographical whereabouts. It is a statement about Who He is, and it is a statement confirming that His redemptive work was finished.

A kingdom is anywhere the King has authority over. Even thought Rome was a specific place where Caesar lived, his kingdom extended far and wide. God is in Heaven a place, His kingdom is included in us because He has authority there.

Heaven is where Jesus is.

-

Where is Jesus now?

In our hearts, in the Holy Spirit.

Within us and without us.

The love from God, we know that it's there, in our hearts,

And we can see Him all around us, in our brothers and sisters, and in the blessings that He has given us.

He is spirit, the spirit of Love.

--

Our 5 senses can't detect Him, love is known in the heart.

--

The darkness of the deep, the void of space, is not an illusion.

The deep, perhaps, is as eternal as God is,

There being only God and the void that we see at night.

If you are not with God, then there is only the void of darkness.

Heaven and earth appear to "fly away" into the great void of the darkness, Rev 20:11.

Then there is ONLY God, and nothing else that is material.

--

Go outside tonight and look up at the darkness of the deep

You'll be looking at the "face of the darkness", Gen 1:2.

--

There will come a time,

When you will NEVER see this darkness or any other darkness again.

You will be completely ENVELOPED into Jesus and the Father.

The Living God the Father will be the new heavens, Rev 21:2,

And Jesus will be the new Living earth.

We will be as a holy temple in the heart of God, Holy, Mighty, Creator, The Great I Am.

The Ark is seen, Rev 11:19,

Men are able to enter the temple, Rev 15:8.

--

Praise Jesus ! Praise His name ! All glory to God ! How great He is, The great I Am !

GET READY ! Let's prepare our souls to meet Him !

The great harvest is coming !
