For years Christians have wondered and debated over this question. Few have learned the answer. I would like to offer the most reasonable answer. It is hard to accept but it reveals answers to many questions concerning scripture.
The answer is that the earth is hollow. I said it is hard to believe. The bottomless pit is exactly that. The angel of the pit is the king that reigns over a type of people who live in the earth. They are the locust of Rev 9 and Joel 1. The great flood issued forth from the hollow earth as if from a mothers womb just as Job 38 says.
The list goes on and on.
I am not sure if I am allowed to post my website here but eventually I hope to add it to my profile.
Please don't discount this to quickly. There is no reason for God to reveal this to prideful worldly scientists so don't expect them to agree.
With this knowledge the reason for Rev 8 is obvious. Please comment your thoughts and questions.
