All of the things we do have specific teachings that go with them. For example that little white collar goes with a black suit, and it represents that God uses men; dead as according to scriptures mortified flesh to speak and teach his word. The lesson that it isn't about them man speaking it is about what he is teaching (if it is God's word). The pastor is just a human man in mortified flesh prepared for his funeral used by God to teach his words, (and the robe), covered by the righteousness of Christ. The vestment usually has embroidery that represents an aspect of Jesus. Teaching us some character of Jesus.
His frustrations are due to his ignorant, self indulged mind that is unwilling to learn, but rather cast judgement upon things he does not know or understand. If he had asked me the meanings I would be more than happy to explain all these things. But rather he chose insult, and crass ignorant judgement.
I rather enjoy explaining these things, and do not blame people for not knowing. How can they know unless someone teach?
But to go on in benightedness with audacious pride is untenable for the enlightened.
The candles teach us of the light of the word of truth, and the brilliance of the Holy Spirit bringing light into our darkness and illuminating us with God's goodness, and wisdom from his word to us.
I would be interested to know if you have any qualifications of any kind to back up your claims of right teaching. I know a lot of people poo poo any form of spiritual education as uneccesary but scripture is clear that we are to study to show ourselves approved to God a workman that need not be ashamed.

I chose to do this both at Bible College and University and I am glad I did so at uni, as I saw the whites of the eyes of atheists and homosexuals which were two of the most vocal groups on campus against the Christian message. As a result of being educated, they were afaid to debate me on the finer points of Christianity. The things I learnt at Uni I now use to debate the finer points of Christianity on the internet with atheists and homosexuals. They bring up all sorts of esoteric ideas to justify ignoring God, but they soon give up when I respond with the truth.

You learn simple things like they claim God doesn't exist and I point out to them that is what they believe because they don't want God to exist because if he does it has consequences for them which they are not prepared to face. I have not had one single atheist tell me that it was not true.

Yes, I'm sure that to you qualification and study are determined by the sophistry of the University. That the idea of classical and even self education are simply folksy and passe; by no means bestows qualification upon the mere apprentice.
It seems to me that purchased education has failed all wisdom. One with such acumen could surely see that devotion each other in groups such as churches is not served when rude, divisive, and insulting behavior is exhibited. And that while I said "you" are the cause it were intended that crass boarishness that you embody is the zeitgeist cause of the decline in interpersonal and communal devotions. Also that such subjects as intracommunal across a vastly diverse and disseminated community is virtually impossible to study via the sophist model of education.

It always amuses me when the university is used as a dagger to assault the man who has endeavored to be educated via self discipline to study, and has sought out teachers in the more classical model. That with out academia and the circle of peer approved, exclusive, monetarily remunerated, university professors, education is unattainable.

Well I contend that Not all subjects can be broken down and prepackaged for sale.

So ya learned via social experiment what the progenitor of modern atheism, Thomas Henry Huxley said openly. At least you know it even if his progeny does not.

Run from any "church" that tries to present their own ethnic or cultural traditions as requirements for salvation or membership. If you are born again, you are already a member of the Church. We are set at Liberty from the old ritualistic Law and are now governed by only two tenants..

Matthew
22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Only through choosing to come under the Blood of Jesus. No more, no less.

Amen!
