Well I disagree with you. Nobody's going to be spending any time in heaven. The believers destiny after death is Paradise where they will wait until Jesus returns to earth with them and join their bodies in resurrection to be made immortal and live with Him forever. We will be getting new bodies we will be getting glorified bodies.
Hello StanJ,
Believers are indeed going to spend time in heaven, which will take place when the Lord fulfills his promise of John 14:1-3:
"My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
So Jesus went to prepare places for all believers in the Father's house (heaven) and he is coming back to get us and take us back to the Father's house to those dwelling places that he prepared. His coming to get the church, dead and living, is given in detail in 1 Thes.4:13-17.
Regarding the Father's house, the kingdom of God, Jesus said the following at the last supper:
"I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."
The gathering of the church approaching quickly, where the Lord will descend and gather the dead and the living removing us from the earth prior to his wrath being poured out. It is during this time when the church will be judged at the Bema seat of Christ and will receive our fine linen, white and clean at the wedding of the Lamb (Rev.19:6-8).
When it is time for the Lord to return to the earth to end the age, we will be following Him out of heaven riding on those white horses and wearing the fine linen, white and clean that we will have previously received. - Rev.17:14, 19:14
