Maggie, there's nothing wrong with being curious. It's good to study the Word. The problem only arises when the little details become the focus.
It is amazing how much our culture, what we study, what our personality is affects how we see different facts.
If we looked at the facts of what God tells us from the mindset of the ancient Hebrews, asking to know the name of Adam and Eve's first daughter would not be worth even wondering about. They wondered only how they fit in with the facts, what were they to do about the knowledge. Notice, God isn't clear about just how and when he created the earth, and no one cared beyond that God created it until thousands of years later.
Christ seemed to uphold this way of thinking. He said that we need to become as little children. Can you see a little child analyzing all a parent tells them?
