I agree and will add...any righteous works done by anyone is done by Jesus dia the Holy Spirit in YOU and it is Christ that does the work and not we ourselves!
A- to da-MEN, (Amen) brother.
Our only hope of doing anything even resembling good in this life is through His power alive in us. I praise His name every day for His unbelievable mercy and blessing in this undeserving life. He regenerated my heart right at a year ago this month and I'm still in total awe of everything being so literally real. I'm shaking right now at work while typing this. I cannot believe the way the veils been lifted and the way all the little talents I had growing up I never did anything with(and knew I was wasting) are heightened and all make total sense and work exactly in a cohesive way to serve Him. It's just too much glory to get across in a short comment and with such feeble words, but I understand and agree with exactly what you're saying.

And the NT is covered over with commands and exhortations for walking righteously with God.

Those who would degrade Christ's command to follow him do not know the NT.

The NT suffers no shortage of commands for walking righteously with God.
Yes, and ALL, even the righteousness of the Law, is done through Love. Nothing old, nothing new about God's Will, just the method (physically vs. spiritually.....obedience to written Law vs. to Spirit....) Indeed, Love fulfills the Law. Love, God's command from the beginning.

But, Miss Elin, with your own eyes you have seen people equating even the minutest effort to walk behind the Lord as work. You know as well as I do that 'the NT suffers no shortage of commands for walking righteously with God', neither does it suffer from those who would have us to walk contrary to that righteousness, as though Satan himself could be one's partner in life.

Those are the ones I am speaking to. You and I already know the difference, that 'those who would degrade Christ's command to follow (H)im do not know the NT'. Allow me, Miss Elin, to show that to others. Let me bring them to the same path we walk on with our Lord, the very same LORD of the only path of righteousness. Let me show them that Love inadvertently fulfills God's Will we know as Law. I point to Christ, not the Law.

Two kinds of judgment regarding deeds.

1) Judgment for salvation - deeds manifest true faith; if there are none, one is not saved, but condemned.

2) Judgment for reward - deeds which manifest true faith, but are wood, hay and stubble.
One's reward depends on these deeds, but not one's salvation, as in the above.

Please forgive my stupid: BUT, in no. 1.; You said, One is not saved without good works, "condemned", RIGHT?
Now, in no. 2. You contradict what you claimed as true in no. 1. ; You said, in no. 2. deeds are only for "rewards". RIGHT?
Please correct no, 1, ,to reflect Your opinion. Love Hoffco

For you, Hoffco, I will explain.

Deeds manifest true faith,
no good deeds = no true faith, no true faith = no salvation, no salvation = condemnation.

One is not saved without true faith.

If we are saved by grace, why are we judged by our deeds?
After being saved we have to then renew our minds and this is expressed through the body(flesh).
The body has not been glorified yet.
So when you say judged,i take it you mean rewards?

Sorry, You and Elin don't know how to read English yet. The Bible's conditions for salvation are: Repent , trust and obey Jesus and the Word of Jesus, the BIBLE. Please Read and believe: Rom.2:7 13; 8:13 Gal.6:7-10 Eph. 2:8-10 etc. etc.. Love Hoffco

Sorry, You and Flin, Can not read English yet. The Bible is very careful to say it right, but the Bible makes one search diligently to see the whole truth; You guys and gals so often Judge the Word's of God as not FIT to learn, so you skip over the HARD parts and accept the east parts. First I must say ..we are saved by grace through faith....(believing and having trust , confidence and obedience to God) He makes us a new creature, created unto good works.....and we will be happy to be judged by our deeds....those who are disobedient will be sad because the have no good deeds....

Thank you, Newbirth, You got the Whole, correct, unadulterated truth. The others with a "faith only" message are sending souls to Hell everyday. Love Hoffco.

We give God all the glory and praise.....
Yes, amen, We who preach the whole truth of God, are giving God all the glory and praise. But those who preach an unholy message of free, easy believism, are shaming God and are not giving God glory. It is not to God's glory when the church turns faith in God into an unholy, immoral thing that produces ungodly persons who shaming God to the world, by claiming to be saved be faith only and are still carnal as goats. God rightly hates the lies from those who claim to be of the TRUTH. The message of salvation is the change God makes in our heart, the new born child of God, is a NEW CREATION of GOD, " all things have become new" "all things are of God" 2Cor. 5:17-18 from walking in the darkness of sin to walking in the Light of God: JESUS.! In 2Cor.5:17-18 We see sanct, "a new creation" first, then Justi. second."reconciled". Most teaching today is messed up. with Justi. as the WHOLE salvation, making Santi, a second work of God. God saves by GRACE! GRACE produces the new birth first ,to people of faith in Jesus, then GRACE produces true saving, committing, working faith, out of the new birth. SO, "the just live by faith", they "live" for God's glory because of a true faith of good works, and love to God. False believers and The Devil will never "live" for Jesus, or "love" Jesus because their faith is only intellectual, not loving with the heart and life. Love to God, Hoffco

Romans 4:2
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Romans 4:3
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Romans 4:20-25
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Romans 4:13-15
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

Christ already did...

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Since you are speaking of Abraham, allow me to add...

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Indeed, our LORD in the flesh pointed to His Law, that Law covered by Love for God and others.
