The phrase can be literal and mean forever or it can be used figuratively where it is not literally forever. We know the devil will be destroyed and no longer exist:

Heb_2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Even the devil will be destroyed.

Eze 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Eze 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

He will be devoured by fire, turned to ashes and shall never exist anymore. That's Annihilation.

The unsaved do not receive an immortal body which is why they can die a second time in second death. You teach opposite of second death, claiming the unsaved not only receive an immortal body but also have immortality. Jesus said unsaved will be dead and not live so I can only accept that as truth. Anything that teaches unsaved will remain alive is a non-biblical teaching.

John_3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life ; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

"shall not see life" means will not be alive.

Universalism -all people (saved and unsaved) will see life in the New Heaven and new Earth for all eternity--FALSE DOCTRINE

Eternal torment -all unsaved people will see life in torment (lake of fire) for all eternity--FALSE DOCTRINE

Annihilationism - all unsaved people will not see life as Christ said.--TRUE DOCTRINE

Only Annihilation matches what Christ taught in John_3:36.

Similar but not the same? God alone is immortal. Scripture plainly states that. Him existing forever has a completely different meaning than anything else that is said to last forever because by definition, nothing in creation is eternal since it ALL had a beginning, whereas God is eternally Self-existent. Even when we are said to live forever, it is forever after, not eternal. We had a beginning. Everything in creation had a beginning. Also, I gave a plethora of Scriptures PROVING that forever does not mean what many insist it does. People ignore them, though, being too attached to what they already believe :p:rolleyes::oops:

Revelation 1:18:)
Rev 1:18 is speaking about Jesus as God. Do you believe that?

Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

Interesting. Wasn't even aware of that verse.
Hebrews 2
Easy-to-Read Version
Our Salvation Is Greater Than the Law
2 So we must be more careful to follow what we were taught. We must be careful so that we will not be pulled away from the true way. 2 The teaching that God spoke through angels was shown to be true. And every time his people did something against that teaching, they were punished for what they did. They were punished when they did not obey that teaching. 3 So surely we also will be punished if we don’t pay attention to the salvation we have that is so great. It was the Lord Jesus who first told people about it. And those who heard him proved to us that it is true. 4 God also proved it by using miraculous signs, wonders, and all kinds of miracles. And he proved it by giving people various gifts through the Holy Spirit in just the way he wanted.

Christ Became Like People to Save Them
5 God did not choose angels to be the rulers over the new world that was coming. That future world is the world we have been talking about. 6 It is written some place in the Scriptures,

“Why are people so important to you?
Why do you even think about them?
Why do you care about the son of man[a]?
Is he so important?
7 For a short time you made him lower than the angels.
You crowned him with glory and honor.
8 You put everything under his control.

If God put everything under his control, then there was nothing left that he did not rule. But we don’t yet see him ruling over everything. 9 For a short time Jesus was made lower than the angels, but now we see him wearing a crown of glory and honor because he suffered and died. Because of God’s grace, Jesus died for everyone.

10 God—the one who made all things and for whose glory all things exist—wanted many people to be his children and share his glory. So he did what he needed to do. He made perfect the one who leads those people to salvation. He made Jesus a perfect Savior through his suffering.

11 Jesus, the one who makes people holy, and those who are made holy are from the same family. So he is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. 12 He says,

“God, I will tell my brothers and sisters about you.
Before all your people I will sing your praises.”

13 He also says,

“I will trust in God.”

And he says,

“I am here, and with me are the children God has given me.”

14 These children are people with physical bodies. So Jesus himself became like them and had the same experiences they have. Jesus did this so that, by dying, he could destroy the one who has the power of death—the devil. 15 Jesus became like these people and died so that he could free them. They were like slaves all their lives because of their fear of death. 16 Clearly, it is not angels that Jesus helps. He helps the people who are from Abraham. 17 For this reason, Jesus had to be made like us, his brothers and sisters, in every way. He became like people so that he could be their merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. Then he could bring forgiveness for the people’s sins. 18 And now he can help those who are tempted. He is able to help because he himself suffered and was tempted.

Fallen angels are still angels. Angels cannot die Jesus said. That is why God created an everlasting fire for them.
where does it say angels can not be destroyed? Why would God need an everlasting fire? Is God now too weak to simply speak the demons out of existence?

Being a denomination does not prove you are a "brother".
Being born again proves you are a brother.
Anything else need not apply for that title.

Also, being "water baptized" does not make you a brother.
It just makes you wet.
I know many born again SDA people. They teach Salvation by Faith and Grace. They believe in the Trinity. They quote the same verses for Salvation that Baptists do.

It is not God who torments, the devil reigns in hell. So you choose it yourself. Either you are claimed by God or the devil. You were given a choice. Choose wisely. God only intervenese, and the it is up to you. The holy spirit marks you as a lamb of God, then you must give your life over to him. Easy choice.
What authority does the devil have? Was he speaking in Matthew 25:46? List your scriptures.

If the Bible refers to those who never die as having experienced death then that's a contradiction to me. Either someone is dead or they are alive; there's no other options.

The writers of the Bible should have used an entirely different word than death in this case; death should be replaced with eternal life. They didn't say eternal life, right?

Only those who are saved receive eternal life. Do we agree on this? That seems pretty clear to me.
ether or is one of the funner logic errors.

Man is made up of three parts: body, soul, and spirit. The spirit cannot die, only the soul and body can die. The death you are referencing is the death of the soul. When we “die to ourselves” we surrender our right to direct our own lives and become subject to the rule of the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
We pray that God himself, the God of peace, will make you pure—belonging only to him. We pray that your whole self—spirit, soul, and body—will be kept safe and be blameless when our Lord Jesus Christ comes.

What we have here is known as progressive revelations. In Genesis, it says became a living soul. In the NT it is reveal that there are in fact three parts to human. spirit and soul are very close in relationship. In Hebrews it says dividing spirit and soul or something like that.

Upon bodily death the body returns to dust and the spirit returns to God, assuming the spirit is righteous of course. (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

If that's true then the it is inferred that unrighteous spirits do not return to God. The spirits that do not return to God are sent to hell. In hell, there's no such thing as eternal life for the body, soul, or spirit.

The below verses refer to spiritual death:

Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:1
1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Thessalonians 1:9
9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

The only way to avoid a spiritual death is through a spiritual rebirth:

John 3:3
3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

1 Peter 1:3-5
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
I think you are just repeating some verses that have been answered already. Your interpretation was off the mark last time and it is off this time too.

Here's where I'm at with it: I see it the same way as you do in that we have body, spirit, and soul.
Hebrews 4:12

The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I also believe that the spirit does not die.

Why do you think that the spirit of man has no consciousness? Is there verses for this? The only ones that I can think of is in reqards to when Adam sinned we became spiritually dead....Which as far as I can tell, means the spirit still exists but is separated from God.

Here is what God says sin did to us:
Isaiah 59
1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

History 1800's
Edward White (1819–1898)
An English Congregational minister, White was a leading proponent of “conditional immortality,” an attempt to find a middle road between eternal punishment and universalism, both of which assumed the natural immortality of the human soul. Conditionalists argued that the soul is mortal and that immortality is a gift from Christ to the redeemed. Therefore, the wicked will eventually be annihilated.

So what happens at the second ressurrection since man is a tripart being? God gives back the spirit or man becomes an evil spirit who cannot die?

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

A Song About the King of Babylon
4 At that time you will begin to sing this song about the king of Babylon:

The king was cruel when he ruled us,
but now his rule is finished.
5 The Lord breaks the scepter of evil rulers;
he takes away their power.
6 In anger, the king of Babylon beat the people.
He never stopped beating them.
He was an evil ruler who ruled in anger.
He never stopped hurting people.
7 But now, the whole country rests and is quiet.
Now the people begin to celebrate.
8 You were an evil king,
and now you are finished.
Even the pine trees are happy.
The cedar trees of Lebanon rejoice.
They say, “The king chopped us down,
but now the king has fallen,
and he will never stand again.”
9 The place of death is excited
that you are coming.
Sheol is waking the spirits
of all the leaders of the earth for you.
Sheol is making the kings stand up
from their thrones to meet you.
10 They will make fun of you, saying,
“Now you are as dead as we are.
Now you are just like us.”
11 Your pride has been sent down to Sheol.
The music from your harps announces the coming of your proud spirit.

Don't forget that there are Christians who believe in Hell because it pleases them to know their faith will have the final word there on those who didn't respect their beliefs.
