I shake my head that some of the views here sit comfortable in the the tribal times before christ, when women were vulnerbale and needed the protection of men. These days women commonly earn more than their male partner. For the last decade in Australia girls have out-performed boys in their final year of school. Socially theres heaps of research to show girls my age are more socially adjusted and more mature than boys. So why do girls my age think they do not need a man to protect and lead.... well the christian chat site for a start is plastered with descriptions of men addicted to pornography or adultery. There a plenty of threads here where christian women talk about their sexual assaults or domestic abuse, even by christian husbands. I live in a time where I do not need to be dominated by a man or want to be submissive. I know full well what some men's versions of submission is because Ive experienced it. I look around the rooms here and I have more confidence in my own abilities. I have a long way to go before I am so confident in a man's.

Let's just say I've had far fewer disagreements (and sometimes arguments) with women here than men.

Haha! Cheers, sister. Even with the difficult/horrible women I've met in real life, I choose not to paint all women with the same brush. The same goes for men. It just wouldn't be fair.

Women get the last word in every argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. lol :p

I think we just need to learn to respect each other and value each other for who we are. Men and women are different for good reason, but no better than each other. Rather we're complimentary.

I think everybody who is still convinced women are deceivers and shouldn't be listened to needs to be reminded of this passage.

Galatians 3:28 - "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

I don't know how you can read that and still feel like men are somehow better than women or that evil comes to men through women. That's just silly, and it isn't what Paul says here.

"One in Christ Jesus" being the requirement ....having in mind the things of God over ones own happiness.

I agree, but not all threads are super serious, that's what makes it loving here, we have the Joy of the Lord. This was my mistake, but it wasn't worded right, I thought ya'll had forgotten about it, but I see, some haven't so o.k. :)

I think men have a problem with opening the car door. Some just do that while there driving when they see a pretty lady.

Speaking of opening the car door. My wife and I once knew a couple from church in which the wife was very controlling and made her husband open the car door for her every time she got into the car. We had been out to eat with them on numerous occasions and every single time that all of us would walk out of the restaurant, the wife would remain curbside just outside the door of the restaurant while the rest of us walked to the car, then he would pull up to the curb where she was standing, get out and open the car door for her. Once before getting out to open the door for her, he even grumbled to my wife and I and said, "I have to do everything for her!" I'll never forget having lunch with them one time and the restaurant did not have her favorite salad dressing so she made her husband get up, leave the restaurant and go buy her favorite salad dressing at the grocery store down the street.
